Detailed Reviews
I would for sure recommend Bodhi hostel in El Valle to anyone. The facilities were very good: the dormroom was airconditioned and the showers had hot water (!!!! super nice), the beds were comfy and thanks to the curtains that surrounded the beds, it also was dark within your little cabin. We could use the kitchen, in which all necessities were available!
The breakfast, which was included, was freshly made for you when you put your name on a list and was super yummy! Other than that, the vibes were very chill and the staff was very friendly! During our whole stay, they helped us with all our questions and advised us where to go, where not to go and how to get everywhere.
Besides that, they made it even easier to get everywhere, as they provided us with bikes!
All and all, our stay was super lovely and I would definitely come back!

The staff is very very Kind and helpful. The hostel provides Information about All the hike around and they also offer guided tours if you like. There is only one Dorm with 27 beds (3story beds) but it was very comfortable even though it was booked out. They have a very nice backyard with hammock and chillout areas. Would definitely come back.. The short brown-skinned guy at the reception is the nicest person!!!

I just stayed one night with my girlfriend and we had a private room with shared bathroom.
The location is very convenient and also friendly budget for a private room. The place is very famous for young travelers or people like me who seeks convenience and budget place to stay.
One detail made me want to come back for sure was the service, Jacob at the front desk is super friendly and helpful. When we left was before breakfast time, but he didn't let us go without a fresh coffee made in the expresso machine they have.
Those details are the most importants in my opinion, I am very grateful for his hospitality.
Totally recommend and we will visit again for sure!
Thanks!!

The atmosphere and location at Bodhi hostal are great. They serve delicious breakfast and the personell is amazing. The dorms are shared by a lot of people and therefore they could have more toilets and showers. The community rooms and the garden are comfortable, spacious and it's easy to meet people.

We only stayed 2 nights at this hostel, but I see why people stay weeks (or even months). Extremely accommodating staff, comfortable beds, fair pricing, good breakfast, clean, reception 24/7, informative, and overall a great experience. Wonderful little garden, a couple of lazy dogs hanging around and a perfect location - right on main Street. Close to hiking, the market and many restaurants
There is an authentic little restaurant down the road called Los Recuerdos De Mamá. The food is home cooked, authentic style Panamanian grub for an extremely decent price and home to one of the best hosts we've encountered!
Definitely reccomend this hostel, and make sure you book ahead of time, as it is often full for very good reason !

Well let's start with the things i didn't like. They were not many. First to mention here would be the constant stream of music coming from the speakers in the outside area. I could well have done without that. Also, the facilities are partly quite run down and could use a makeover, but as they were decently clean that didn't matter that much. Another thing to improve was the wifi in the outside area, which was a bit slow at times, so an additional repeater would be a good idea.
Other than that, we felt very good here. Aforementioned outside area is very inviting, with matresses and sofas, and we spent a lot of time there. The whole compund is beaytiful and desingned with a good eye for details, e.g. the stepping stones between the gravel, so you could walk barefoot erverywhere. We had the private room, which has reading lights on the bed (we've been in a lot of accomodations which didn't have those). Price included a good breakfast, the bar sells very good coffee and beer (you could still bring your own) at decent prices. Kitchen is equipped with everything you need, the two gas stoves with a total of ten flames ensured that even in rush hour you could get your spot to prepare your meal, and there was enough space to store your stuff. There's also a laundry service. Last but not least, all of the staff was most friendly and helpful.

+1
Bodhi is a welcoming hostel who truly gets it right, the hostel is social, activities are organised, staff are friendly, kitchen is spacious, clean and organised, dorms have lights, fan, aircon, curtains and mattress protectors, and towels are included (luxury). The hostel is in a great location, has an awesome included breakfast that is cooked fresh and changes everyday, laundry is available, and there’s a big focus on sustainability. Bikes are available to hire, there’s a yoga space, and plenty of different spaces to chill out, there’s a cinema with Netflix in its own space and a little library, and the cafe is a great addition.
I could not fault this hostel and really loved my stay.
You can easily spend 3-4 days (or longer) in this town and at this hostel with plenty still to do (within walking distance).
The only thing I noticed is the mattress is a little soft (but fine for a few nights!) and the luxury of having a mattress protector and knowing it was clean made up for this.
Special shout out to Vaja, hostel dog and hiking guide extraordinaire!

The Bodhi Hostel is a really known place and seems like the best hostel on earth but when staying there i didn't feel really comfortable. The dorm is too big and people are loud, the atmosphere wasn't friendly. It is for people who feel really cool and hipster. Either way, the little garden with the sofas is nice.

I enjoyed my stay at Bodhi hostel in Valle de Anton. They had a nice map including details about the hike as well as bus routes to backpacker places. The staff was very nice, hot showers and curtains in front of the bed for extra privacy. Besides, the hostel organised karaoke nights, movie night and (charged) hikes. Lastly, the pancakes for breakfast were amazing!
For the next time, it would be nice to have a comfortable lounging area to sit after a long day of hiking.

My time was full of cigarette smoking German kids, so that was the first and last thing I smelled daily. Unpleasant.
My 2nd floor private room was stifling with no cross breeze or ac. The mattress was like a hard rock. My body ached the whole first night, but I adjusted. The breakfast is French toast and fruit. The lack of protein won't take you far if you plan any hikes. The room rate of 44 usd was overpriced considering shared showers and toilets.
The good things were the funky decor, and the location. They had a lot of yoga mats and weights too. Not sure why Buddha is a theme but it's cool.

Hello there,
We are located 5 minutes walking distance to the town center. Tours are not available at this moment, but we are happy to find a guide for you. This area is a town located in the crater of a volcano, and it is popular for its hiking, waterfalls, and rivers. We are located close to the Butterfly Haven (5min), Zoo (15min), Orchid Conservatory (15min), and Mud Springs (20min).
Most attractions are reachable by foot or bicycle under 1 hour, or taxi service is also available. And our price is usually $15 per dorm bed, but it can vary depending on the season and days (weekday or weekend). For the most up-to-date information, please take a look at our reservation sites at Hostelworld and Booking.
Buena noche,
Disculpe la tardanza ! Si permitimos ninos - pero solo en las habitaciones privadas.
