We had a great morning snorkeling here with the family (2 adults, 2 kids 13 & 11) our driver recommend us to come to Gideon's beach/Havana Bay as we wanted to snorkel and see some colourful fish. We were not disappointed and just a few metres out coral and lots of fish! It's an easy safe place for the kids to snorkel and get confidence as they don't have to go far off shore to see another world. The weather was ok, overcast but it didn't effect our day as you could still see beautiful blue and colourful fish. We were greeted by a lovely young waitress who gave us a bread roll for the children to feed the fish 👍 There was no fee, but were very happy to have lunch here to support this local business. The food was fresh and yummy we had calamari, fish & chips with a couple of local beers and soft drinks (as we're on holidays) I would definitely come back next time we're here!

If you are wanting to steer away from the commercial resorts and get a real feel of a grass roots experience then do yourself a favor and contact Gideon and support local! These guys do a tremendous job at providing a real local and cultral experience, a fantastic array of platters of seafood(need to book a day ahead) and easily organised last minute with no fuss! TOP VALUE, GREAT LOCATION and HIGHLY RECOMMENDED.

Yesterday we visited Port Vila on the P&O Pacific Explorer. I rang Gideon the owner and he came and picked up myself and 5 friends from the ship in his people mover. Gideon agreed to take us to the Eco Lodge for the day and bring us back to the ship. He is a very friendly and amenable host, even allowing us to stop at the duty free shop in town on the way while he went to the local supermarket. We enjoyed a very scenic drive to Havannah Bay, it is a beautiful part of Vanuatu and only 30 mins from town. We snorkeled right out the front of the Eco Lodge in beautiful clear and safe water and it was wonderful. Gideon's Restaurant has a simple but well priced menu featuring local fish and steaks and local very cold beer and international wines. Gideon's wife took our orders and was very friendly and helpful. I would recommend a visit here for a true taste of unspoilt Vanuatu, Gideon's phone number is +678 774 7200.

We just spent 5 glorious nights at havannah in paradise. Unspoilt, down to earth, quiet and relaxing. Great host with gideon and Hellen Maika who went the extra mile to share her love of havannah harbour and vanuatu. Thank you so much. We will return but in the meantime we cannot recommend the eco.lodge bungalows highly enough. A true 'getaway' from the tourist!

So we passed through a couple of years a go, we loved the feel of the place and vowed to return. Simply the best place to get away from it all, the accommodation is basic, no up scale here, but the food is beautiful, fresh, the staff friendly, and the views stunning. We're coming back!
