We loved Kamahi Cottage! The cottage itself is very comfortable and well appointed with everything you need. The surroundings are gorgeous with views of rolling farm land along with beautiful gardens between the cottage and the host home. Liz and Evan, our host, could not have been more welcoming. Our favorite part about our stay was having breakfast in their home and chatting over coffee. They are a weath of information about the area and New Zealand and lovely people. We will definitely return on our next visit to the Waitomo area.

Stayed for 3 nights. Everything outstanding. Ideal location for glowworm caves and for Hamilton's Botanical gardens. Breakfast menu is varied and the quality of the food is excellent. Liz cannot be more helpful. If back in the area will stay again.

What a beautiful cottage, in a beautiful spot!
Peaceful, relaxing and comfortable. Liz and Evan were so lovely, friendly and informative, and breakfast was delicious too!
Stay a few days, read some books, and be revived.

Written in retrospect: we stayed at Kamahi Cottage for a few days, the three of us a family.

The Cottage itself was tidy and clean! The place was stunning, all the plants, the environment, the field and the homemade food Liz cooked up was perfect!

We were allowed and encouraged to roam around the surrounding areas of the cottage and farm!

Evan gave us a farm tour and happily explained to us how it works there. Liz also guided us no nonsense where to go around the area!

Liz & Evan are definitely a couple of friendly hosts!

We hope to visit again in the future!!!

My husband and I stayed at Kamahi Cottage 10 years ago on our honeymoon. When we were planning our 10 year anniversary to New Zealand we knew we had to book a stay at Kamahi Cottage. We fell in love with the place so many years ago and this time we got to watch our kids (age 5 & 7) discover the magic of this place. The cottage itself is located in a gorgeous spot where the views are stunning and you are surrounded by pristine gardens. Elisabeth and Evan, the hosts, are the nicest people you will ever meet. They were extremely accommodating. Our kids are very picky eaters and Elisabeth went out of her way to make sure they had delicious food that they would love. Speaking briefly of the food, it is phenomenal! Our kids were pretty sad when it was time to leave and they realized that they wouldn’t be having anymore Kamahi Cottage meals. The kids loved playing in the garden, stargazing at night (they had never seen so many stars), and listening to Evan play his bagpipe. It is hard to capture all the things we love about Kamahi Cottage, it is a slice of paradise and well worth the stay.
