Very well located near the Glowworm Caves and other attractions. Clean, reasonable sized rooms with ensuite, attached to private residence. Very helpful owner, great views of the area from the garden. Breakfast was in-room (in refrigerator), which was okay but wi-fi only worked when sitting at the picnic area, not in room. Overall, a very good place to stay for a reasonable rate.
Not a B&B as you would normally know it, where you are included in the home. This was more a motel with breakfast. Having said that:- Pam left a note to say which unit we were to be in. It was small with little space for our luggage, we had to store one suitcase under the bed. A very full continental breakfast was placed in or on the fridge. Fruit, bread, youghurt, cereals and a variety of preserves. The bed was very comfortable and and we always travel with our own pillows. The room was very clean. Unfortunately we could hear the conversation of our next door neighbour, especially when he was on his telephone and we could have joined in. Wifi worked fine in our unit. However the toiletries were lacking in shampoo and conditioner and the shower towel needs to be larger. The used towels were not changed and were still wet when we returned to the unit later in the day. A dish to put used T bags in might be appropriate. The outlook is beautiful and it is a quiet area.…
Great place for star viewing given low light pollution Quiet location but close to caves in Waitomo. Hard to find but worth checking out. In suite breakfast only. Nice gardens. Would stay here again if back
Owners nice enough. Although we were told off for being confused about the layout on arrival. The room we were given was absolutely tiny! Comfortable bed. No wardrobe. No room for the bags (we were tripping over our luggage)! Bare concrete walls with completely inadequate heating. It was absolutely freezing! Tried to obtain extra heater twice but there was no one available. Wifi theoretically available but no reception in our room. Strongly recommend avoiding during winter!
Simple, sufficient, beautiful hillside views and close to Otorohanga, and Waitomo Caves and sights. Also located next to the golf club and course. Very nice host. We are on our second night here (on our honeymoon) and we love it. It is perfectly sufficient and conveniently located to Otorohanga and just 15 minutes to the Blackwater Waitomo Caves facilities. Breakfast... We found sufficient and perfect for us. In the rooms are a mini fridge with yogurt, bread, milk, tea, instant coffee, a small microwave, plates, and water boiler. Light and perfect to get the day started. Head into town for your meals and shopping. There is also a great fruit market with good ice cream just down the road.
