Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

My wife and I and our two daughters spent 1 night at the Glowworm Motel.
The accommodation was spacious and clean and consisted of 2 rooms with 2 single beds in each room, as well as a double bed in an open plan lounge and kitchen area. The double bed was a bit unsteady and the shower was nice although the shower head was a bit low.
The kitchenette was adequate with a large useful dining room table.
Our room was close to a busy road so traffic was a bit noisy, especially large trucks passing by.
Overall, the motel was pleasant and was a convenient stop-over to visit the Waitomo Glowworm caves and the Aranui and Ruakuri caves.

Good value for money. It's very affordable and well worth the money. Very friendly and helpful owners. The room we had for 3 adults was roomy, clean and welcoming. The kitchen was well equipped and everything worked fine. Car parking right at the door step.
Owner not only gave us a good recommendation for a place to have dinner, also gave us the Motel's name card as reference for a generous discount.

Our family stayed in the 3 bedroom stand-alone cabin. Private, quiet, lots of space and very comfortable. Swimming pool very welcome - location great for exploring Waitomo’s attractions. Host very friendly, very helpful. Great family stay.

Good place to stay for one night. Very clean and tidy motel with everything we needed. The outside surroundings were very run down and overgrown though and to our disappointment the pool was empty and clearly had not been in use for some time. I had the urge to do some gardening to get the place looking good again!!

Loved this for budget family accommodation. Owner super friendly and helpful. Neat and tidy rooms, they even provided daily towels! Close to all the Waitomo experiences but out if the hussle and bustle.

Chris was amazingly helpful and hospitable. The cottage we stayed in was very run down, but we all slept better than we had the whole trip. It gave us a real homey feel, "just like grandma's".
Kids loved the animals.

Very friendly and helpful. Decor a little dated but room was comfortable and well appointed with a decent kitchem (which you will need as there is not much round about). Bed comfortable, very quiet at night and decent shower. A ggod table to sit at as well. Perfectly situated for visiting the Glowworm Caves.

We stayed here for 1 night while in Waitomo and enjoyed it. The rooms are basic but was presented very clean and tidy! Great amount of beds in the room - 4 singles and 1 double. Everyone found these to be all comfy too. Loved the pool. Close to the Waitomo attractions in the area.

The motel was basic and clean. It's nothing fancy but it's a perfectly fine place to stay if you are visiting the caves. The owner was so nice! He gave us info on where to go at night to get a good view of the glow worms - we would have never know or found this on our own. It was spectacular! He also provided us with flashlights. He seemed to really want us to enjoy our stay. The motel was a little close to a major road and might not be the best for light sleepers but it wasn't a problem for me.

Stayed 1 night in front unit opposite from main highway. While I could tolerate the traffic noise the street lights shone into the unit and it was hard to sleep. Blackout curtains in these front units would it make it more bearable For the price the units are Ok nothing flash and the motel owner is very helpful. Reasonable base for exploring the area.
