I came back to this hotel and it is still very convenient. I have to say that the biggest advantage is the possibility of using the gym across the street. Very clean rooms, very nice staff, good internet and ok breakfast (Maybe you should use real eggs for the breakfast instead of omelet mix. The rest is ok)

My wife and I stayed here for 5 nights before Easter 2017 for a bit of R&R while visiting my wife's mother (with our 3 kids), who lives in Alcochete. In my humble opinion, the hotel is either a very good B&B or a basic hotel. Positive points - good, free WIFI, good location (close to beach, shops and restaurants but not too close), good, simple breakfast, good value (we paid 65 Euros per night for 2 of us bed and breakfast), good TV in room. Room for improvements... the rooms are spacious enough, could do with updating and more comfy bed would be good, apart from very small fridge in the room not much else in the way of 'facilities' (no tea or coffee, no water, no info for hotel or local area, etc), a bit more imagination with breakfast...
The staff are friendly, helpful and courteous. The hotel is clean and a good base for the local area - the hotel is not a destination in its own right but good value if you are visiting the area or want somewhere that's not too far from Lisbon as well as tasting a more traditional location that has history as a fishing village as well as bull fighting. Alcochete itself is a beautiful, traditional town with very good restaurants as well as being peaceful and relaxing for visitors.

Room and public areas spotlessly clean and well air conditioned. I was given a VERY large room on the first floor which had a balcony. At first I though being at the rear of the hotel a disadvantage as I did not get the afternoon sun, but the big bonus was I got no traffic noise either (rooms at the front are by the road).
There are several very good restaurants within a ten minute stroll.
I have no idea if the hotel gets noisier in the summer, but my late Spring visit was a delight.

Alcochete is not set up for tourists, but it is a very pleasant village with lots of restaurants to choose from. We selected Hotel Al Foz because it was located close to but not in Lisbon. We liked the fact it was in a foody town and most of all the fact it had a pool.

On arrival we were told the hotel did not have a pool but we could use a pool across the road at a cost of 12euro each. Given we were a family of four, this was not an option.

We booked a family room. When we entered the room, it was very large but only contained a double bed and cot. When I queried this with the reception I was told my booking form stated three people. A third bed was added to the room, but not until the reception staff attempted to score points based on what information they had been sent by the booking site, which clearly stated we were booking a room for three adults plus cot.

The rooms are simply furnished, which is fine, however our room had an enormous balcony with no furniture. Again we asked and two chairs were provided, no table.

We were also under the impression that breakfast was included within the room rate, however we were told this was not the case. This was not the fault of the hotel, but the booking site did state breakfast included and then the Confirmation arrived stating no meal option. Worth double checking, which I will do in future.

In conclusion the hotel is simple. It's about fifteen twenty minutes from town where there are lots of restaurants. It isn't set up for tourists, but that isn't a bad thing. It's a fine place to lay your head, but little more.

We stayed here for ten days at the end of February during the two equestrian events at nearby Barocca D'Alva. We were very comfortable. The hotel is quiet and elegant with views across the Tagus from the front. There are quirks: we had to request a hairdryer but it was then ours for the whole stay. Security safes are by Reception. Breakfast can be a little hit or miss but most of us staying there for the event were happy. After Day One they ensured that there were plenty of eggs and bacon! Yes the lift is a little slow but the car park below is free and the lift goes all the way down. The rooms are cleaned meticulously every day and the beds are made up with clean sheets daily! Wonderful. 4 stars as it is not the Hilton but everyone tries hard and we were happy to spend ten days there and will stay there again next year for the Sunshine tour!

I spent 8 days at the Hotel Al Foz in Alcochete. This is a lovely, characteristic village on the other side of the river Tagus, opposite of Lisbon. Public transportation is efficient and several buses get to the Oriente Station every day across the stunning Vasco de Gama Bridge.

Restaurants in the area are numerous and inexpensive.

The Hotel Al Foz is a beautiful hotel with a large lobby furnished with comfortable armchairs and sofas where it is possible to have a drink.

The staff are very welcoming and caring without being obtrusive. Special thanks go to Susana at the desk whose precious tips and useful pieces of information helped me throughout my stay.

Wi-Fi in the rooms is excellent and breakfast is varied and plentiful. It is served from 7 am, but if you have an early flight, they will prepare it for you at any time. It is like being at home.

This little hotel so near and yet so far (across the Vasco de Gama bridge) from Lisbon doesn't seem to get many reviews so I am writing again after a recent 10 day stay. Thank you Sandra, Susannah and the rest for making our stay so comfortable once again. For birding around the south east side of the Tagus estuary and close to the fascinating Samouco reserve this hotel is central, comfortable and extremely good value.

I’ve stayed at Alcochete last Friday during my 24 hour stay in Lisbon. The hotel is just 30 minutes driving from the airport (car rental is mandatory) and very convenient if you want to do some shopping at Freeport Outlet (10 minutes’ drive). There are several restaurants and a few bars in the area. Rooms are spacious but a litle bit dated. Car parking is available in the front street or at the hotel garage. Free Wi-Fi was also provided and available in some rooms. During my stay staff was always friendly and helpful. I found the breakfast too much simple, in fact I was expecting a little bit more variety. Nice views from room balcony.

Hotel looks from outside not bad. The rooms needs new furniture and are in a very old style. Floor has lot of wholes from cigarettes and is not really clean. Breakfast is quit good. But no service. On all tables the used cups and plates. No one is filling up if something is not available. Scrambled eggs cold. The ham as well. I don't know why nobody takes care for the breakfast room, never seen this before in a hotel. For this and some other reason I find the price is to high related to the service and offer and quality.

Cheap and cheerful but not up to a great standard. Rooms are fine for a short stay but are nothing special. With little staff the receptionist seemed to do all jobs which were carried out in a cheerful manner. There was a complete lack of the required drinks in the bar and caused many to give up and go to other bars. Breakfast was limited in choice again with very few staff. Wifi was intermittent and did not work in the rooms for long periods. Not the best!
