My friend and I stayed for two nights. Not a fancy place whatsoever but it served our purpose! The grounds are very well kept, like a mini jungle with dik-diks, turkeys, and monkeys roaming about. The pool area is very relaxing with birds chirping and beautiful flowers everywhere.
The rooms are very basic here, but I found them comfortable. The shower temperature control was finnicky, but fine for a quick shower.
The WiFi did not work for 1 of the 2 days we stayed (pretty much a full 24 hours - was unresolved by the time we left). If you're staying to work, have a back up plan at one of the other hotels or restaurants. The will give you the WiFi code if you have a drink or meal.
The included breakfast was okay. Nothing fancy, but I was full from the meals which is the important part. We never watched the sunset from here, but I imagine it would be a good view.
We requested parking as we rented a car and they honored the request.
Budget accommodations, I would recommend this place! Again, don't expect anything fancy, but the price is great for Nungwi.

Spent late Dec- early Jan here. Sele the chef and all round legend made our stay extra special by helping us celebrate my boyfriends birthday. Staff friendly and helpful. The food was amazing - my boyfriend especially loved the catch of the day. This hotel supports the local community with staff bringing in the best catch from the market. Check out the swimming pool with dik diks, rabbits and chickens all hanging around in the sun! Rooms were clean and balcony lovely!

We had an oceanfront room which I am convinced had the best view in the hotel. The room was so charming, romantic, and gorgeous. The main room and the bathroom were both very clean. Hearing the sounds of waves as we went to bed at night with open windows was an experience I'll never forget. Breakfast was delicious with generous portions. Staff was helpful in arranging a day trip to Stone Town, which had a much more reasonable price than the tour agency outside the gate. My only regret is that we didn't stay longer.

This is a great place to stay if you like quaint boutique family style places to stay. It is great for 2 women, couples, families, it is not a "party" place.

Where do I start, there are several ocean front rooms which we selected and the open up on to the wooden sun deck which is over the beach. When the tide is out there is a amazing beach for walking swimming and such, when the tide is in there is water under the deck, but you can still walk the beach.

The restraint is next and covered. The restaurant is also where you can order cocktails and set, there is also an uncovered part. The chef will fix most anything you would want. The food s good and plentiful. In the back there is a secret garden and there are many rooms back there as well. This is where the pool is located . It is a tropical paradise and the owner has some dick dick dear, gienne fouls and other little creatures in there that offer entertainment. There is also a pet monkey you might be lucky enough to see.

The service is amazing and most people have been here 20plus years. Everything is clean, and most things attended to when called I'm. Wifi spotty. Electric went out a couple times, just a awesome experience. Hight recomend. If you want excitement or a bar, it is just a short walk on the beach.

My husband and I stayed at Langi Langi for part of our honeymoon in Zanzibar. It was booked by the travel agency and it was definitely not what we expected to find according to the pictures and to the agency description. Our room (pool view) was very tight, shadowy, moist and not properly cleaned. The bed was uncomfortable and there was a lot of noise during all the night (music until late at night and people screaming since early in the morning).
The breakfast was scarce and the food very poor.
Overall the employees were kind and helpful even if they do not speak a very good English and sometimes the communication was difficult (it is however quite common in Zanzibar).
After 2 nights (without sleeping at all due to the reasons above) we decided to move elsewhere.
If you decide to stay here, please be aware that this is probably below the standard you would expect looking at the pictures on the website.
I am not blaming the hotel, it was definitely a mistake from the agency since Langi Langi definitely did not respect our requirements.
This is good for a shot stay in Zanzibar if you are looking for something relatively cheap and you are not planning to spend much time in the hotel, I would definitely not recommend if you are looking for something comfortable and elegant, as people usually are for their honeymoon!

We had a very nice stay at langi langi.
We booked the suite with sea views and the view was absolutely stunning.
The rooms were very clean and had a mini fridge and a safe.
Breakfast was basic but nice, with a choice of different kinds of egg dishes and pancakes.
The only negative point here was the staff.
Although we heard so many good things about the staff in other hotels, the langi langi staff did not seem excited to be welcoming guest again.
They did what they had to do, but that was it.

Amazing place, very friendly management and staff, located directly at the beach, amazing view.

We are pleased to have been guests at Rasta's place, an amazing human being and manager and thankful to have met such friendly staff and experienced such an amazing place.

Very clean. Showers, toilet, water, always working, never interrupted or stuck.
Excellent restaurant (public, not only hotel guests) for lunch or dinner. From Currys to Pizza and Zanzibari (very hot!) dishes, everything made freshly and very kind waiters.

Do not ecpect meat, such as beef or lamb or any else in Zanzibar, but excellent fish, seafood and chicken. Reason therefore is the import of meet from mainland, that mostly is not reliable.

We loved everything from breakfast (if you expect continental breakfast in Zanzibar, then may prefer a different destination, not Zanzibar) Breakfast, contains from choice of eggs (omeletts, boiled, fried, pancakes and others) you order and itvwill be prepared freshly, variety of fruits, toastbred, soup, yoghurt, flakes, butter, milk, jam, coffee, tea, toppings for the pancakes and water.

Always carry cash in Zanzibar, paying with cards is not really common. Better change into tansanian schilling, than paying with US Dollars.

Beach boys are kind, even tough they may ask several times for selling things. Just smile asnd say friendly, if needed several times, 'Asante', which means.thank you in Swaheli. Not comperable with places like Egypt, Mainland Spain, Gran Ganaria, Turkey, where the beach boys are much more demanding and approaching to you.

For us, every time again Langi Langi!

Racist manager that is high most of the time, poorest and worst management I've seen on the island, weirdest and most unprofessional welcome: the manager told me that I looked like his ex so when he saw me he wanted to run away. The rooms were crazy updated, the fridge was disgusting and wasn't working. There wasn't any hairdryer. There was a 40 min electrical cut during my stay. Rooms were only cleaned till 6pm. The bed sheets had stain on them. The ambiance was really weird and I felt unsafe. Did not receive new towels daily. Finally, Rasha, the manager of this place was racist and would talk about his previous guests. He even told some of the guests about some of the demands I made while laughing at me. Thankfully they came and told me about it because they felt that it was really unprofessional on his part. He even made a joke about a previous guest while telling us private things about him. I don't understand how this hotel is still working, please save yourself and walk away!!
If you're American AVOID AT ALL COST, he clearly stated many times that he hates all American tourists.

Langi langi is a beautiful hotel, the rooms are massive with great views and a magnificent garden, also a few small animals roam which was a huge plus. The owner was extremely friendly and accomadating. I would recommend everyone visiting Zanzibar to stay here especially for the great cuisine prepared fresh by trained chefs.

We had booked through booking.com however just before arrival, we were informed that the room type we had booked for, is not available.

We didn't like the room that was offered but the manager/owner was kind enough to give us an upgrade. We loved the room and definitely the owner is a chilled out guy who looks like Johnny Depp :)

The resort is just at the beach. You can take the stairs and reach the beach during low tide.

Even the food is yum. We loved the pizza we had for lunch and special shout out to the banana pancakes we had for breakfast!

I Think they only have room for two adults with two small children.. but we had the top roof room and is was very big with lot of space. You have to ask the hotel for a exakt answer.

They do not change for you at the hotel. But the hotel next door has an exchange service. We used this several times. It was quite expensive but other than that we were told we had to go to Stone town to get money. And that is a good hour by taxi.
