Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

My partner and I have stayed at a few yurts and glamp sites but Mt Gold is on its own level. Amy the owner was super easy to communicate with. Kristen met us on the road and guided us to our site. She was very knowledgeable about the area and super friendly. It was about a 10 minute uphill walk to the site, but when you get there it was worth it. Completely secluded. Incredible views of Wanaka and the lake. You have all the facilities you need, toilet, shower, bbq, camp chairs and lots of warm blankets! The dome is completely covered but parts of it are transparent so you can see the views of the lake, and the stars at night! We would 100% stay here again.

We stayed at Mt Gold glamping for one night and it was a real treat. It is truly remote and you are one with the surrounding beauty of lake Wanaka. The accommodation is beautiful with lots of small touches to make the stay as comfortable as possible. The walk is a bit tough to get to the accommodation but well worth the end result. Once you arrive I wouldn't recommend leaving (not that you would want to) so make sure to come prepared with food. Overall I highly recommend this place as a real treat. It's something completely different and unique!

This is such an awesome set-up and has everything you need but still keeping it simple. This is the best spot to enjoy with a friend or a significant other! We both absolutely loved the experience and have already recommended this to others :)

This was a surprise for my husband. He had absolutely no idea where we were going. Amy was awesome at keeping the suspense. He was blown away...Everything was great.. we had all the facilities we needed. it was a peaceful experience which we both needed big time. Night time was the best.. crystal clear sky and you can get lost staring at the stars. very romantic. We also requested for hammock hot tub... we loved it. highly recommend this.. i would do this again. I am so late in posting this review - apologies for that. But I cannot forget this experience ever. One of a kind!

It was our first time for glamping in the wild like this! The "room" is fully furbished with all the things we want. Just an experience between us and the nature, leaving the world behind us. Love the starry sky even it was freezing outside! Lake view BBQ was wonderful if those tress are a bit shorter...

After receiving details of our glamping adventure, we were met and escorted to the site overlooking Lake Wanaka and Mt Gold. Although 'a bit of a grunt' to the site, time was allowed for a breather! We were excited to see the camp with central yurt, bbq, ice box, toilet, shower, table and leisure furniture all within close proximity. As it was autumn the evening was a little brisk, but plenty of extra blankets, hotties were available. We used the bbq to boil water - however, would have loved a flask to keep extra water hot! Fairy lights and battery powered candles created atmosphere and even on a trip to the toilet during the night, was delighted to see fairy lights adorning the loo! The night sky was clear with a wonderful view of the galaxy above. Utensils were supplied plus tea, coffee, milk.

This is a picturesque, well-equipped camp, which is far enough off the beaten path to feel like it's all on its own (while still being a short drive to town). There will likely be a temperature range from toasty days in the sun and under solar dome, to chilly nights curled together under the stars, so bring layers (advice for all of New Zealand, really). We enjoyed our time at the camp immensely and hope to return to this region someday. The facilities were really nice, as long as you don't mind a little jaunt to the camp from your car; trade that small effort in for beaches all your own.

We had the most memorable experience. Amy and Debbie were very helpful. All the arrangements were taken care, minute details particularly in the kitchen area is so well equipped, shower area is perfect. Kids were so excited and even more thrilled to see the board games and outdoor games, power banks to charge the phone were very good could last us for 2 days easily We could see the stars like never before and woke with chirping of birds. A FIVE STAR EXPERIENCE CHEERS TO THE TEAM FOR ORGANIZING SO WELL

This was our first glampig experiance and we are so stoked we decided to do it. Great location, comfortable bed, cool exterior and interior design, everything we needed was provided. There is a great BBQ on site and hot shower with great water pressure. Amy is very hospitable and made as feel welcomed and looked after. Such a great experience.

My husband and I stayed for one night during our recent trip to Wanaka and I can’t recommend it enough. The campsite was very well presented and the host made it easy to find. The views of the lake from the campsite were gorgeous and the outdoor kitchen, shower and toilet were very clean and accessible. We had a great nights sleep under the stars from the comfort of the full bed. We highly recommend this stay if you are looking for a bit of the outdoors experience with the amenities of being indoors.
