Pros: Room was spacious. Blankets and comforter were clean. The bed had electrical blanket. The bathroom was relatively roomy, clean and functional.

Cons: Back door faced the busy road in and out of Wanaka. Room was not well maintained. The walls had scratches and holes and wallpaper peel-offs. The kitchenette was at the entrance. It was small and barely useable. The bathroom used portable individual shampoo/shower gel bottles. Not green at all. It took a while for the hot water to come out for the shower. The parking lot was a mess. There was no designated parking lot for the room. The whole property was lack of greens/shrubs/greens. Neither indoor nor outdoor felt cozy and relaxing.

I would class this a just an average motel room at less than average value. Right next to a busy road, the bed was quite ordinary and WiFi was very poor. On the plus side there was a good heater in the bedroom and the bathroom and the bed had an electric blanket. The motel was just a very short walk into the centre of town. $179 for the night was on the more expensive side when compared to other, better fitted out motels on the west coast area

Hi Our motel is in a busy tourist town and most properties of similar standard would have charged $200-210 for a similar room. We are in central Otago not the west coast and a very different pricing category. i can see from all of your reviews you seem to have issues with noise and reqyire ear plugs. I fyou are sensitive to noise then we have rooms at the back of the property that you could have requested. secondly we are a small town and I have never had anyone complain that they have had a bad sleep the towns traffic stops by 7pm unless there is an event on. and in fact you were here for a busy event in town. We have great ratings on all sites for our clean rooms and great service and cost effective rooms so really your review is not a true indication of what our property delivers to guests.

Had the pleasure of staying at this wonderful motel for two weeks in July.

The Motel is very well set up with a Ski waxing and drying room, shared laundry and car washing bay.

The car washing bay is excellent after driving up and down the Cardrona road.

We stayed in unit 7, it was a great room with two bedrooms and two bathrooms.

The unit had a fully equipped kitchen which was wonderful.

The owners of the Motel were great to deal.

I highly recommend this Motel and would happily stay there again.

Stayed overnight with my wife and daughter. Friendly staff. Clean and tidy rooms. There are basic kitchen facilities in the room but you would not be looking to do a major cook-up. The motel unit in which we stayed is close to the main road into Wanaka town centre but we heard no traffic noise. Clearly the owner takes time & care to tend to a small garden. A pool is available for guests.

We were upgraded on arrival to a two bedroom apartment which had a kitchen and two spaceous bedrooms as well as washing machine and dryer. A lovely surprise as we had a bag of washing to do! Self catered in the well equipped kitchen and went for a quick dip in the pool. The Motel is 10 mins walk to the lake and overall was a good stay.

We stayed here for two nights in mid-December. We arrived after the check-in time, but as we had informed the owners, they had left the room ready for us to arrive. The room was clean and had a nice wide bed. The bed was a bit too soft though. As our room was next to the main road, you had to use earplugs to get sleep. The WiFi flickered on and off, and only worked at certain spots of the room. We made meals in the kitchenette, all other equipment was in good condition, except the knives, which could not even cut through a tomato properly. So small issues overall, but the great attitude of the staff was appreciated. And the location is nearby town, which is always a plus.

We stayed one night during a road trip. Beds were comfortable with good linen and electric blankets and towels, Heating was efficient, Carpet was very new. The litcheniette in Room 4 was very small but everything worked well. Owners were friendly and helpful. Just a short walk into town.

We stayed here for only one night on our way from Queenstown. The room was quite spacious with a queen size bed, that was very comfortable, and 2 single beds in a separate space. We have 2 kids (10 and 8) so it was perfect. The kitchenette is a good bonus as we catered our own breakfast. The bathroom was nice and clean. The carpets are relatively new and comfortable. About an 8 minute walk into town.

HIGHLY DO NOT RECOMMEND. Don't come here if you want a good time and what you payed for. We paid for 3 queen beds + 1 king bed. All we got was a room with 2 double beds + 1 single bed and an argument with a wall-faced staff member.

We talked to a staff member onsite and she tried to tell us we did not need more beds and would fit perfectly in what they gave us. Mate it's not about if we fit or not. We're paying customers and thereby entitled to what we payed for. We tried to explain this to her and she had the nerve to try get us to pay $235NZ for an extra room with 1 queen bed + 1 single bed. We paid for a certain amount of beds and didn't get it and she wanted us to pay even more to still not receive the service. She tried to tell us we told them we only had 1 person staying on our booking form so we showed her our booking confirmation which clearly stated our guest number to be exactly how many people we brought. We even tried to suggest a compromise where they simply bring in an extra mattress. She refused our suggestion and kept trying to push us to pay for an extra room. She deflected all our requests to speak to another staff member, insisting that the manager shared her views. At this point she simply went back to her room despite our attempts to reason. We ended up having to BUILD a bed with two diagonally placed sofas.

Upon further inspection of the rooms, we found that the showers were not very clean with spots of mould on the sides and some of the bedroom lights refused to switch on. Furthermore, one of the bedroom heaters did not function.

Attached are some photos of the lights and heater. The photos of the beds with are for size reference only - taken in the morning after sleeping.

This motel is well located close to the centre of the town / restaurants / bars etc. The rooms are large and will sleep a whole family. All have kitchenettes. Sine units are duplex and have washing machines etc. etc.

Description says "breakfast in rooms" but that's only if you buy the stuff yourself and prepare it in the kitchenette. No sign of any catering on the premises.
