Sorry but I call a spade, a spade, so I will tell it how it is and it was pretty damn average. Whether this is just related to our room or not, I can only relate to our stay. The front staff and bar staff are great, prompt and wearing a smile. The pools are great and the encompassing rock walls reflect the style of the surrounding Otago landscape. For a resort, it would've been great to have at least some picnic tables or outside chairs, or even bean bags to lounge on in the sun, but nope nothing. Our room on entering, we were met with a pungent smell - possibly dampness. This is more than likely due to the room getting absolutely zero sunlight from dawn to dusk and not able to be aired. There is no air-con and with the room being sun-less, you dont need it..... There were no pool towels in the room like the booklet in the room indicated. There was no rubbish bin. There was one lounger chair for 2 people so one of us had to sit on the bed. There was no toilet brush to clean the after effects of a poltergeist creeping up on you. The shower (over the bath) sprayed water over the toilet and made a helluva mess on the floor. Room service never arrived until at least 1630hrs. Since our bath towels were used to clean the toilet and floor I guess it was welcoming to get dry towels off them. By all means don't discount staying here but be wary of the tired place.…
we stayed here in Janaury had a one bedroom unit good stay the room was tidy. loved the idea of full kitchen as im celiac and it good to have options to cook a safe meal... only done side is the Tv theres no sky. for the price you pay to stay i it think they should offer sky Tv . All the other hotels we have stayed in Wanaka or Queenstown we have had Sky. I think the hotel should up grade to it for there guests
Was very much looking forward to our night at the resort. The images on their website make the place look beautiful but we were very disappointed on arrival. The whole place is very run down and in need of an upgrade to justify the rates they are charging! Patchy paint on walls, lots of damage to woodwork, the plug in bathroom had "oven" switch!!??, lack of plugs in room, missing picture on wall with just the hook showing, terrible tv reception with limited channels, poor internet that is so slow. Dark and dingy stairway to our room. When we arrived there was rubbish scattered on the floor outside the door to our room. Had to ask three times for it to be removed. So glad we were only booked for one night!!
Stayed here for two nights. Room was spacious, clean and full working kitchen and laundry. Staff extremely helpful and I enjoyed a massage at the onsite Spa. The heated pools at all the different temperatures was a great idea and the lap pool and full sized gym was an unexpected luxury. Would come back here again - thank you!
We couldnt have wished for a better destination resort to spend our New Years at. The pools, hotpools, gym were incredible and the service we received from the staff especially the lovely lady who was the waitress st the pool was of the friendliest nature. The staff were unassuming and kind we could have been anywhere in the world staying at this exceptional resort. Will be back and thankyou again for a wonderfully peaceful experience.
