Located on the Crown Range Road between Wanaka and Queenstown, the Cardrona Hotel is the perfect base from which to explore the stunning Central Otago region. Twenty minutes from Wanaka, 40 minutes from Queenstown and 30 minutes from Arrowtown, the hotel is close to many major tourist attractions in the region. It's also close to four major ski areas, including Cardrona Alpine Resort. All ensuite rooms are all equipped with Sky TV, WiFi and tea and coffee making facilities. Make use of the cosy guest lounge, beautiful cottage gardens, laundry facilities and hot tub. Rooms are a mix of queen beds, twin queen beds, twin singles and family rooms with one queen bed and two singles. Please note, from 3/12/2021 we will be observing the NZ Government mandated COVID-19 CVC guidelines, proof of vaccination will be required at our premises.

After a few car issues coming up the crown range, we stopped by this wee gem! Firstly I noticed how beautiful the pub was indoor and then was COMPLETELY blown away by how great the staff were. There was a older guy with a beard, younger lady and a nice younger guy. This made me want to stay for a beer so we went outside and the out door area was the most amazing outdoor area I've seen at a bar. 11/10 from me!!!

Stopped in here for breakfast on my way from Queenstown to Wanaka. It was a lovely place to stop as it’s an iconic landmark in the south. Cosy atmosphere inside with the fire lit. Recommend stopping in for a visit.

We stopped off to see the history of this hotel and sample the vegan noodle bowl on the menu. We waited 45 minutes for our food which was only average. We ate because we were hungry rather than because it was tasty. Very little vegetables but tonnes of noodles. Was disappointing. My daughters felt that little effort had been made in making this dish. The tofu was way too salty. Wouldn’t eat here again but would stop in for a drink.

We stayed one night at the Cardrona Hotel. The hotel is an awesome place - retaining its old fashioned charm while having modern facilities and amenities. We stayed in a queen room facing the garden bar. A very comfortable room with excellent facilities. Our dinner in the restaurant was amazing, as was our breakfast. The staff were so very helpful and courteous. The atmosphere in the bar was super inviting and relaxing - we played cards in front of the fire while having some drinks.

We stopped off at the Cardrona Hotel recently and it was great to see it is still a great place to visit. When you’ve driven over the Crown Range on a wet day, having a cup of coffee in a couch in front of one of its open fires is still one of the beat places to be (even in January!). Their cheese and bacon scones are excellent. Next time I just want to make sure I stay for the night.

Nice welcome on arrival by young lady from Arizona -thanks. Good room with two queen.beds and all usual amenities - was good to see no plastic for shampoo etc. Spent evening out in back garden which was lovely. Had food which was good. Probably only negative was one waitress who was unfriendly and curt. In morning had a lovely cheese scone and coffee again outside. Really nice visit again. Highly recommended

A well worth stop in this little town. The Cardrona hotel not only retains its period charm but also provides the modern amenities to ensure your stay is as comfortable as it can be. The restaurant serves delicious dinner, breakfast and good coffee too. The surrounding is so quiet at night, you can be sure to enjoy a good night sleep.

We will definitely be back to stay! We loved the room and it was perfect to be able to sit in the beer garden and have a couple of drinks knowing we didn't have to drive! We saved the spa for the morning which was great. The food was wonderful, we just picked a couple of bites off the bar menu as we were quite happy sitting outside. Really yum! Nicest nachos we have had out and the chicken was delicious. Make sure you check out the wee shop too. Thank you for a wonderful stay.

Worth a stop as you are passing through. They have rooms for staying here as well. We were able to walk through on the property and go into the store area. It is a cool place check out. Could be nice play to stay as well.
