Detailed Reviews
I loved staying on and off in Mount Aspiring Holiday Park - a welcoming couple running the business supported by a dedicated team of young people from all over the world. Out of town but not far away, surrounded by beautiful hills and offering mountain views all around!
The facilities include a swimming pool and great area for children to play and the staff is super friendly and going beyond to keep the whole place clean and tidy. Unfortunately guests are not respecting the most basic rules, like to leave the clean kitchen in the same condition you find it or even better!
I found glass bottles and a lot of plastic bottles in the main red rubbish bins even though there is a central recycling area and many extra recycling bins around the place.

I stayed in a studio apartment which was the only indoor option left when I booked. It was comfortable and clean and the bathroom area was good. It's about a 5 minute drive to town where there are lots of options for dining and activities. I used the communal laundry and pool both of which were a bit dated but functional. The best feature was the staff who were friendly and helpful with accurate information and check in was quick. Like most accomodation in NZ it is a little on the pricey side but then again Wanaka is a popular tourist destination.

Wasn't particularly blown away by this park compared to some of the others I've stayed in.
We ended up being squished in quite close to someone which was fine as they were actually nice people but privacy was a little hard.
The main reason for the low rating was the facilities weren't really up to scratch. We ended up going to the toilet which had run out of toilet paper in all cubicles and the shower I had just wouldn't release water if anyone else was using a shower (or the Kitchen - although that is an assumption)
However, it was a good price compared to some of the others in the area.

Hi Aaron, thank you for the review. I can only presume there was someone else sharing your site as the site you booked is one of our larger ones at 8 x 7. So plenty of space for tents and a car. You should have spoken with us as we could have resolved this issue, as we are not into cramming guests in. Yes it came to our attention we needed to be re filling those toilet rolls more often, so appreciate the reminder. Have a great New Years and travel safe. Charlotte and the Mt Aspiring Team.

Lovely owners and reception staff who do their best... but this place is in need of a good clean asap. The Spa is out of order, the communal spaces need a good clean and the prices need to be adjusted for what it is.

As a group of 3 adults we wanted a separate bedroom and some room to move. We choose the holiday park because it was cheaper than most other accommodation and also very handy to the wedding venue we were attending. The unit was very clean and neat and although the camping ground was mostly empty the toilet block just down the slope from us was spotlessly clean and new looking. The whole place was well set out in tiers so everyone was on a different level with lots of beautiful trees.

Last minute decision to stay at the Mt Aspiring holiday Park and we were very happy with our choice!
The park is on the outskirts of Wanaka which means it is not convenient to walk into the centre, but benefits from being quiet with spectacular views of the mountains and lake.
We stayed in our motorhome on a powered site which we felf was good value for money with plenty of space around our site to sit out and enjoy the views.
The kitchen and shower facilities were reasonable although nothing special.
Enjoyed the use of the complimentary hot tub and thought the pool area was lovely.

Stayed here with 6 birth camper on powered site, for 2 nights in Oct 2023.
First off check in. Probably the friendliest check in ever. Great staff and incredibly helpful and gave loads of info on getting into town and the facilities.
Price wise, we found that as you go further South on the Island, prices are higher but at $60 for a powered hook up, it's still within the expected cost range for the area.
We had a site overlooking the hills the first night which was lovely but fancied a change as the site didn't look busy. No problems, they gave us a site overlooking Wanaka Lake for the second night.
It's about a 20 min walk down through residential streets (look for Bills Way on the opposite side of the main road and just head down to the end and go right at the waters edge onto whats known as the Millenium Way) to the lake and you will be at "The Tree". Carry on and you are in Wanaka itself which is probably our favourite town of all our tour.
The site is incredibly clean, beautifully kept and there are rabbits, birds and we even aw a Hedgehog walking back in the evening. There is a hot tub and a pool and the facilities are very clean and modern.
Without doubt, one of the best we stayed in over 15 days of touring the South Island.

Massive camping ground! We found it quite expensive to park our self contained camper for one night, however its probably better value for money in the warmer months when you can use all the facilities. Kitchens are extremely basic, no pots, utensils etc to use so best to bring everything you need.
Didn't find it as clean as some of the other parks we have stayed at, however nice staff and a beautiful location.

Has all you need for a night or 2. Quiet, child friendly, big area. There needs to be better signage indicating the route to the reception area as it's out the back of the complex rather than in front.
Some tents sites could be redeveloped to be flatter as I noted quite a few tents were on an angle even tho it looked flat enough.

We stayed here during the peak summer season but never felt that it was too crowded. The sites are large and we were facing the mountains at the back. The staff were really helpful and friendly. We were in powered site 4 which is close to the facilities which are really clean and well maintained. The kids enjoyed the playground and pool and it is a short bike ride away from the heart of town. The park also offers unlimited free wifi.
