Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

We stayed one night in the studio room.Found it excellent in everyway. It was warm and cosy and we had a great nights sleep away from the busy town centre. but still close enough to pop downtown for a meal. The unit has all the basic requirements and it is very clean and modern.Loved the underfloor heating in the bathroom-nice on those chilly mornings.Owners are very pleasant and helpful.Booking and payment very efficient.Nice private front porch overlooking garden and mountains in the distance.

Our two night stay in beautiful Wanaka at Peak Sports Chalet in November was great. It was a cute little chalet with comfy bed. It adjacent to the house but was privately located with garden in front by the deck. It was very quiet. The best part though was Alex & Christine, the owners, who went way above and beyond to make sure we were able to fully enjoy our short time in Wanaka. They hold a special place in my heart for their kindness.

We stay here for one night with my family.Alex and Christine the host are very kind and concerned in detail.

We took our children with us (4 years and 1 yr). The living room has a box of toy for kids that make us easy to cook and leave them with this toys.

Room is clean and comfort bed.

And the fireplace in the living room is so lovely even though it didn't be fired.

Kitchen is very good with a nice cutlery and a lovely backyard. It's a pity that it 's a bit rain outside that we cannot use the table in the backyard.

We recommended this place when you come to Wanaka

We stopped off in Wanaka en route from Franz Josef to Queenstown. Wanaka was beautiful but unbelievably busy in town compared to everywhere else we have travelled through (that was until we reached Queenstown!). This chalet gets you away from the hustle and bustle in a nice and quiet spot a few kms away (5 mins drive).

The chalet is hidden away at the end of a narrow driveway and chalet parking can be a narrow tricky affair. When we arrived we were warmly welcomed by the hosts and had some basic supplies provided as well as some delicious homemade banana bread (thank you!). The chalet was very comfortable and clean, it's cosy for four people but space is adequate. There was no in-chalet washing facilities (the hosts do provide that as a service) and from the second bedroom you need to go through the bathroom to get to the kitchen and lounge space which can be awkward when the shower is in use.

Overall this was a pleasant stop with welcoming hosts in a beautiful town with great scenery.

Recommended and would stop there again.

It was a cozy and convenient stay at Alex's and Christine's. We had everything we need at Peak-spot Chalet and we especially love the heated toilet floor! It was a really nice touch for welcoming us with some homemade brownies.

Peak-spot chalet also has another bigger chalet to house about 4 pax if you are interested.

We will recommend to everyone who is interested to stay in Wanaka.

The accommodation is a purpose-built studio annexed to a family home and a little more homestay/Airbnb than I was hoping for. It is a couple of km from the centre of Wanaka and a few minutes’ walk to the lake. You’ll need a car if you stay here.

The studio is very comfortable and well fitted out with everything you need and the host Christine is very welcoming. She even gave us some homemade chocolate treats on our arrival.

The little chalet at the back of the property was very private and comfortable. Landscaping was beautiful. Alex made us very welcome and we hope to return there some day to see more of the Lake Wanaka area.

Big chalet which Alex wanted us to upgrade to before we reach thr. No regret, cozy, clean place and wonderful host. Alex was great to let us have upgrade just for minimal fee. Stay here if you in Wanaka.

Thank you for your feedback. The Studio you originally booked is designs for 2 guests, but since it was four of you, there would not have been enough space for you all. We are glad, we could convince you to change to the Chalet and give you a great experience at Peak-Sportchalet and in Wanaka. Thank you for your stay.

We had a wonderful stay here, Alex made us feel very welcome.
The chalet is gorgeous and tastefully furnished. The scent from the freshly cut wood outside the bedroom door, and the lavendar bush nearby is heavenly.
the chocolate brownies on arrival were yummy and a lovely touch.
Unfortunately my husband accidentally packed the salt and pepper from the unit....sorry!
We would definitely recommend this unit and when we next return to new Zealand would stay again.
