Relax, enjoy and experience our quiet, secluded, yet central location with its sunny and spacious aspect of mountain, bush and garden views in a 0.8 hectare park-like setting. Unpack, settle in and stay a while using Archway as your base in Wanaka or the Southern Lakes region. It's so easy to then take day trips to visit nearby Arrowtown, Queenstown, Twizel/Mount Cook, Cromwell/Bannockburn and Central Otago. Rest and recharge in our well-appointed accommodation – 15 serviced, self-contained and self-catering (kitchen/bathroom), economy studios, private character chalet studios or comfortable, spacious family units. Sleeps 1-6 (two are purpose built access units). WiFi access in all areas (free allocation applies) and flat screen TVs in all units. Ideally positioned – Set back from the main road, 350m to the golf course, cinema, post office and 500m to cafés, restaurants and shops. Less than 1km to several walkways, lakefront and Wanaka Information Centre. Utilise and explore our facilities and services including plenty of space for boat and trailer parking, several portable gas guest BBQs, sheltered outdoor garden and hilltop seating areas, gazebo, playground, trampoline and unique hot tubs. New feature: relax and soak in the unique experience of our fresh water natural and sustainable Cedar Hot Tubs with their rejuvenating benefits, while enjoying panoramic views and woodland surrounds. Have your tub privately to yourselves and even heated to your preferred temperature. A fee applies and pre-bookings are strongly recommended. Free sessions are offered for longer stays or special packages (please refer tariffs and specials pages). Office/Reception facilities include free maps & brochures, rice cookers & de-icer. Other onsite facilities: guest laundry, ski drying/waxing/tuning room, clothes drying racks, car washing, free service-activity and forward bookings, continental and cooked breakfast on request. We had such a fantastic stay at the archway motels I don’t have anything bad to say about the place. From calling to make the booking the hosts were so welcoming and nothing was an issue. When we arrived to check in we were warmly welcomed in by fantastic staff and our son loved the look of the playground (where he spent a lot of time during our stay) our room was very well equipped with everything that we could have needed during our stay. The rooms were sparkling clean and very well maintained. There is some work going on at the motels my son thought this was fantastic and he loved waking up in the morning and watching them work, even the builders/roofers were lovely. It is a short walk into town and bike paths close by. Highly recommend this place to anyone. Thanks again archway motels for the wonderful stay!

Fantastic setting close to town but quiet with beautiful gardens and set back from the road. Large rooms with lots of space and good cooking facilities. Mark was an amazing host giving us lots of information about the area what to see and do recommending great walks, places to eat and don’t miss Pembroke Patisserie. A big plus was the outside BBG area and the hot tubs at the top of the garden great for some private star gazing.

We had booked in for 2 nights here via Isite Queenstown as this was a stopping point before Queenstown. Pleasantly surprised to be given a chalet with 3 rooms just for the 2 of us but the whole place was big & spacious and lots of space. Would be great for skiers most likely. We made use of the Cedar hot tubs they had on the property on top of the hill. It’s only $15 for an hour and we had a beautiful moonlit soak under the stars with beautiful views over Wanaka. The place was clean and serviced every day. The owners Mark & Josephine are super friendly and gave us a lift into the bus stop in town when they saw us struggling with our suitcases across the gravel! Definitely highly recommend this place and would love to go back if I’m ever in Wanaka again!

First, let me start by saying Jack the owner is lovely. He pointed out the hot spots on a map as well as recommended local dining options for us, and even called us by our names when we went to visit him after checkin.
But we felt the 5 star reviews we read here were “bought”. When we saw the sign in our room that offered a gift for showing reception a 5 star TA review, we felt we’d been misguided.
The location wasn’t the 2 min walk to town that other reviews said - it’s at the top of a little hill at the far end of town, which after a week of hikes and biking is the last thing we wanted for our legs! There were other hotels/motels in the city centre that were a good location.
The room had a good sized kitchenette and utensils, had lots of TV channels and Netflix, and was renovated which was nice, but not even a bar of soap for the shower. Laundry was also out of operation due to Renos so went to the Caltex to do this.
As far as motels go, this was what you’d expect. But not the ‘hidden gem’ it was made out to be by other reviews. Guessing people wanted their free gift!

Perfect location and great friendly management. Mark made sure we were sorted for everything we wanted. Very central to the rest of town so can walk down to restaurants etc.. Hottubs on site and everything you need in the rooms should you want to cook.

Our two bedroom apartment was very clean, comfortable and was well equipped with everything we needed for our 3 day stay. It had a wonderful outdoor patio where we enjoyed having dinner and relaxing in the evening. The motel is a short walk from the centre of town and has a hot tub to enjoy after a day of hiking or cycling. The hosts are very friendly and helpful. We would definitely stay again.

This is my second visit to Archway Motels and I am very enjoy staying here. The owners has done a great job on refurbished the room. New carpet and new bathroom.
The heat pump was turned on before we arrived so the room was warm and cozy in a chilly night. Owner’s extra effort like putting towel on our wind screen was extremely helpful. Would always choose to stay here every time when we are in Wanaka.

Our room was spacious with a view of the park. It was immaculately clean with comfortable beds and decent reading lights, good heating ( including electric blankets)and a well provisioned kitchen. The motels gardens are beautiful.
The host was warm and welcoming and provided us with heaps of information on activities meme might enjoy and on places to eat in town. We were close to the centre of town - a less than 5 minute walk- and to the beautiful lake.

Thank you for your enquiry. We have a guest laundry very close by in our complex with 2 x washers & 2 x dryers for your use. We also have 2 x clothes lines outside and a clothes horse/portable rack for small items in your unit.
