Owner Julie & daughter Lucy were so welcoming to the unique Hayloft - you stay upstairs and they live downstairs. Unique building in a quiet rural spot in Wanaka (which can be very busy at high season). A lovely stay here which was too short - it was a wrench to leave! Thanks again - Paul & Alison
We spent three nights at this wonderful location. The self contained flat offers a lot of space and two balconies . The owners are really friendly and helpful and provide great stuff for breakfast. The homemade bread was the best bread we had in NZ.
The Hayloft is just 10 minutes outside of the Wanaka village on a lovely property facing north towards the lake and mountains in the distance. You can sit on one of the two balconies, enjoy local wine and cheese and listen to the birds. The building is made of straw bales and maintains a comfortable temperature. It has a serviceable kitchenette, full bathroom with shower (no bath) and a lovely bedroom with a south-facing balcony for morning sun. The owners are quiet and friendly.
We stayed just overnight but really enjoyed ourselves. Huge apartment with stunning views from both lounge and bedrooms. Everything for our breakfast was delicious, especially the warm freshly baked loaf! Cosy beds and lovely toiletries made this a place to remember
Well this place was so different from anywhere else we have ever stayed. Just a few minutes drive from Wanaka. So peaceful. Just the sheep as neighbours. John, Julie and Lucy are such warm hosts and so helpful. John suggested great walks and also provided us with good breakfast provisions. We really felt at home here. Great place.
