Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

as other reviewers have said this is a high quality property with great hosts and fabulous breakfasts!
Lin and Chris were excellent hosts and it is a treat to see Lin's artworks around the place - she is a very gifted artist!
Location is excellent - short walk downtown.
The breakfast was delicious with a lot of homemade foods. Every morning the breakfast table was beautifully set. Chris and Lin know how to treat their guests and make the little touches count to make for a most enjoyable experience.
Definitely the place to stay in Wanaka

What a lovely B&B, warm, comfortable and with very friendly hosts. The house is located a short walk from the lakefront with all its amenities so you can leave the car behind. We took both rooms, they are large and well decorated with excellent beds and bathrooms. Tea, coffee and a fridge are available on the shared landing. Chris and Lin provide a great choice of breakfast items and the coffee is very good. (That barista qualification paid off Chris!).
Thank you for your hospitality, we had a great time in Wanaka.

Hi we stayed at this wonderful property in March while we did some hiking and walking. Really lovely base with great breakfast and Coffee:), well located just a short walk to town and really nice hosts. All visitor requirements catered for with thought and imagination. Nice bedroom good showers, visitor refrigerator, plenty of parking.

Informed and interesting team of Chris and Lin, nothing was a problem.

Really good base and will return.

We had a lovely large room in this house which is very close to,the town centre and lakeside in Wanaka. Plenty of space in the room including two beds. Our large bed was extremely comfortable. Breakfast was a real highlight. A range of homemade delights. The hosts are charming. I would highly recommend.

Stayed one night at this very nice B&B. We had the loft room which was very spacious with a very nice en-suite. Everything was very clean and the bed very comfortable. The hosts were very helpful and welcoming. The location was good being a 10 minute walk in to Wanaka where there were plenty of restaurants and shops.

What a fantastic B&B in Wanaka. Chris and Lin first greeted us during our check in with a big smile. They were so welcoming and accommodating to us. We spent only two nights, but we could have stayed longer. We enjoyed our long breakfast talks and missed them when we left. They both genuinely are interested in their guests and make you feel so at home. From the Tempest, we walked into town and around the lake to Edgewater to have a snack and a glass of wine. The location of their home makes it so easy to walk into Wanaka and enjoy the cute town. Our room was spacious, clean and the beds were comfortable. We really loved our cookies in our room and coffee. The breakfast food was delicious with a lot of homemade foods. Every morning the breakfast table was beautifully set – even linen napkins. Chris and Lin know just how to treat their guests and make the little touches count. Whenever we return to Wanaka we know we will book the Tempest of Wanaka. Two thumbs up!

Mu husband and I stayed here for one night in April and loved our stay. Chris and Lyn made us feel so welcome and I loved the little extra touches in the room like the beautiful handmade cookies. I ate them all!!! A bit out of the way of the city but it was a good walk. Lake Wanaka is a gorgeous lake. Breakfast next morning was beautiful and Chris and Lyn had a couple of friends staying as well so we all had breakfast together and spent a while talking and getting to know each other so had a lovely stay and would highly recommend this B&B to anyone. Hopefully one day we will return.
