We absolutely loved our visit to the Lime Tree Lodge and Wanaka. It was the perfect ending to a wonderful trip in NZ. The staff are outstanding, friendly, accommodating, genuine - just great people. The property is beautiful and relaxing. Our 3 night visit was much too short for enjoying both the Lodge and the area. We could not have asked for a better visit. We are determined to return!

Our family stayed at the Lime Tree Lodge for two nights. The service was exemplary a six out of five! When our previously booked outdoor activity was cancelled due to weather, Linda quickly made calls at the last minute to arrange for an outstanding boutique wine cellar tour. The grounds are idyllic with lovely gardens, a pool, and the cutest sheep and alpaca in the adjacent fields. Likewise, the breakfast was the best we had, especially the vegetarian option with potato roti, mushrooms and avocado. In addition to several cooked breakfast options, there are bowls of fresh fruit, flaky croissants, and delicious yogurt and muesli as well. They also offer wine and canapés each evening. It’s nice to mingle with the other guests in this small, personal inn. Common spaces

We spent just 2 nights in this luxurious and cozy lodge located just outside Wanaka on a beautiful piece of property. We stayed in the Black Peak suite which was spacious and had a private patio. Everyone was so helpful in suggesting activities and making reservations. Delicious breakfast and wine and cheese in the afternoon to wind down the day and share the days events with the guests. Wish we had more time!!

I think I’m the first to review Lime Tree Lodge since it’s under new management, and I will assure anyone thinking to stay there that they won’t be disappointed. The new owner is an investor from China, but most of the staff have remained and the new on-site manager, Yohann, is wonderful. He made us feel totally at home, gave us good recommendations and helped us to navigate some travel difficulties. The shared living space inside and out is very comfortable and inviting. Yohann lit a fire each day without us having to ask (as opposed to where we’re currently staying in Queenstown, where the fire sits unlit as it snows outside.) One of the most magical nights of our trip was sitting in the cozy living room, drinking wine from our wine-tasting that day and reading books.

Thus cozy lodge amid small sheep farms and vineyards, we stayed for two days. The rooms aren’t hugely large or luxurious but nice, clean and the shared areas are very nice. The breakfast that comes with your stay is terrific and you can order anything. The congenial hosts provide wine and canapés early evening as the guests greet each other and sit around the fire. Part of the draw is the hosts and they are retiring. The lodge will hopefully keep up the service-oriented quality that the previous owners had. Very fun stay.
