My wife and I traveled in the south part of the South Island in March and stayed in 11 different accommodations, and with the exception of The Dairy in Queenstown had very good experiences; however, the Lime Tree Lodge was right at the pinnacle of excellence. It is an intimate, elegant and spacious B&B with superb staff members who were warm, interesting and solicitous with special kudos to Susie and Lisa. Our room was large and appointed with thoughtful accoutrements to make our stay exceptionally comfortable. Every evening Lisa provided a broad selection of wines to choose from and hors d'oeuvres in the common living room that promoted camaraderie with other guests. Also, the breakfasts were excellently prepared and delicious. I could wax rhapsodic for pages, but suffice

This place is beautiful. It is about 10 minute drive to Wanaka. Nice rooms, great staff, nice breakfast, and wine & Cheese in the late afternoon. Onsite they have sheep, rams and alpacas. Highly recommend staying here.

10 mins by car from Wanaka. Lovely Staff - all of them! Excellent rooms giving onto, the garden. Pet sheep and alpacas in the field. Extremely comfortable sitting room where you are offered drinks and canapés at 6pm. Excellent tea and coffee station. Brilliant breakfasts cooked to order. Lovely fire burning to keep you cosy. Amazing heater in bedroom that warmed the room extremely fast. Very comfy bed. Good bathroom. And we had dinner in one night which was fab, cooked right there by a great chef and delicious. All dietary needs catered for! We were very pleased we stayed here for our 2 nights in Wanaka.

A wonderful place to rest from a long drive or one of the numerous wonderful hikes and activities in and around Wanaka. We can recommend having dinner at least one night in the lodge itself; you meet new people; the service is impeccable and the food is very well prepared. The gardens are huge and lush

We did enjoy our stay at LimeTree and Linda was a fabulous host, but..... What we loved - Linda's company, the 6pm drinks and opportunity to mix and mingle with some very interesting guests (although some guests were not into this), the cleaning is faultless and bed comfort just fine. What we thought was OK - breakfast - good without being memorable, our room size was quite tight - could not put one suitcase out, much less two and could only walk around the bed and that was with only one small diningroom type chair in the corner, not even a lounger. The location is about 10 minutes out of Wanaka so need a car. What is a worry - the property has recently changed ownership - there were many hooks on the walls in all rooms and hallways with no artwork (so obviously gone with the

Hi there, Thanks for your feedback and glad you had a good time with us. I would like to explain few things about the your worries. We have managed this property for less than 3 months and it is all really new to us. In regards to the artworks, we have ordered custom made pieces of art, made by local artists. And therefore it takes some time. All those 'hooks' will be filled within couple of weeks. We wish it could have been before, but quality takes time. All the empty garden beds are being replaced as we speak as they were full of dead or dying plants. Our aim is to plant those beds as soon as the weather will allow us. I guess when it comes to gardens, a bit of patience is required. While the pool has only 2 loungers, it has a table with 8 seats and couple of benches. Therefore we can caterer for all our guests at the same time. In regards to our rates, we have not increased our rates for the last 18 months and we wish to keep the same level for at least another year. Wanaka is not an affordable place and if you compare with our local colleagues, we are right in the market. We are so glad you enjoyed Linda's company as she is a gem and I'm sure she told you all the good things to do in Wanaka, including lovely restaurants. If you come back to Wanaka next year, we would love to have you back so you can see the difference when our project will be achieved. All the best, Yohann and the team
