We stayed in the wheelchair friendly disability unit for two nights. Grab bar for the toilet is on the left and the grab bar is on the left side next to the fold down shower seat. It was perfect for our needs. Room also included a kitchenette with a small refrig and 2 burner hot plate. Owner offered us a late check out which we took advantage of. Hotel is located at the edge of town but everything is new and in excellent shape. With a vehicle, anyone will be fine here. It is quiet location and very clean and tidy. We would highly recommend staying here

This motel changed the definition of motels for me! Everything in the room was brand new, clean, and comfortable. The shower was strong, kitchenette fully appointed with dishwasher (!), towels, dishes/cookware, and all things for tea/coffee. Fresh milk provided at reception. It’s located on the outskirts of town, but Wanaka is small and with a car, you’re at the lake in 5 minutes. Definitely stay here for a relaxing time and good sleep.

We stayed at the West Meadows Motel for just one night but I could happily have stayed much longer.
The rooms feel new, clean, thoughtfully designed, aesthetically pleasing and extremely comfortable. Small touches such as heated towel rails and anti-fog bathroom mirrors, cute cushions, and the room being heated before our arrival. It is even more appealing than it seems in the pictures and presented great value for money, especially as it's only a 2-minute drive to town.
We stayed in a top level king studio and had lovely views across to the mountains in the distance, and the upper carpark around the back meant we had easy access and didn't have to lug our bags up the stairs.
Our hosts were warm, friendly and helpful, and did me a generous little favour in regards to amenities that put a huge smile on my face!

We recently stayed here for three nights during out trip to South Island. We had an upstairs room overlooking the lake and mountains beyond. The hotel is just out of town but easily reached via a stroll around the golf course. The hosts were very knowledgeable, giving tips on good places to eat and some of the hikes in the area. The rooms are spacious, very well appointed and the attention to detail and level of housekeeping can only be applauded. Highly recommended.

This motel was a wonderful place to stay in Wanaka. Staff are friendly. Rooms are well appointed and maintained. The end was the most comfortable of all the beds we slept in during our 2 week holiday. The staff were very friendly. I thoroughly recommend this motel . I do not often post reviews of the places I have stayed but this motel deserves to be acknowledged for its quality and good value.

We only arrived late yesterday, and we are only staying a couple of nights, but I am so impressed by this little motel I have to review it immediately. It’s not in the middle of town, and it’s on a fairly busy road, so if a little bit of traffic noise in the morning is going to bother you, this may not be the place for you. However, with the lovely welcome from Rainbow on reception, the really great layout and design of the units (not the decor, it’s very pleasant but not everyone’s taste) the best bathroom with a proper shower, not shower over bath, “nice” toilet paper, and a very comfortable bed, West Meadows ticks all the boxes for us. We wish we were staying longer.

Delightful and very comfortable experience at the West Meadows Motel in Wanaka. We tried to stay in locally NZ owned motels, booked through the motel website, and uniformly have found them to be friendly and welcoming in that wide open NZ style that no chain hotel can match. The West Meadows Motel met all our criteria for friendliness, cleanliness, outstanding design, and comfort including kitchen facilities and a splendid bathroom. The motel does need a car to get into central Wanaka but one assumes that if you are at a motel you will have a car! Plenty of parking downtown on the lake. Thank you Rainbow!

Very nice stay at West Meadows in early March. Manager (Rainbow) was very helpful and allowed us to switch room type to suit our needs. Well appointed, modern room in nice quiet location. Guest laundry very useful. Easy to walk to town. Would definitely stay again.

This small hotel exceeded our expectations in terms of the quality of the layout, the furnishings and especially the support of the staff. The only reason I didn’t give it 5 stars was the noise from the adjacent highway. Our room happened to be located closest to the highway and daytime noise from cars and trucks on the busy highway was constant. Nighttime noise was considerably less. But the furnishings were excellent, the large bed comfortable, the cleaning staff thorough. Matt at the front desk was more than helpful on several occasions. He went above and beyond to give us information about the area, directions, and even helped after we left by mailing an item we left behind to our next destination. I would highly recommend this motel.
