Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Friendly owners and a welcoming Daisy. Lovely cottages with everything you need and more! The cottage is cosy and warm, with double glazing and comfortable furnishings. The shower to die for. Full cooking facilities and a great selection of quality kitchen appliances. A peaceful place to stay.

Just one word: Excellent. The silence, the beauty, the pleasant owner, the privacy, well equipped, clean a real treat on a working farm! Don’t miss this one! Braai facilities, run and cycle quiet farm roads between the Angora goats. Lovey and friendly Bobby will meet you with a waging tail.

We enjoyed our one night stay in one of Debbie & Dave & Daisy's cottages. Despite being in a residential area it was very quiet overnight. The cottage was ABSOLUTELY SPOTLESS and perfect for lovers of red decor! The location was an easy approx 8 minute drive to the centre of town and ideal for our stopover about halfway between Ashburton and Queenstown. We enjoyed relaxing on the deck and meeting Daisy the miniature Dacshund, and the heat pump and electric blankets kept us cosy. Everything had been thought of and the kitchen was perfect. The property would be ideal for two groups travelling together as there were 2 x 2 brm cottages. Highly recommended.

Consider yourself lucky if you get to stay with Debbie & Dave at one of their two cottages. They have thought of everything. The kitchenette is so well-appointed with some starter items if you chose to cook yourself. The bathroom was squeaky clean. It was just so clean and functional. There is a laundry facility available (for free!) which is great when you're on a longer trip. They provided good recommendations for where to go for good views of Mt. Cook. It was like staying with a local friend!

Apologies to Debbie and Dave for this late review. We stayed on 5 & 6 April in their comfortable and spotless cottage. The kitchen was well fitted with good quality equipment and stocked with plenty of cooking utensils. The sitting room and bed rooms were attractive and well presented, and everything was spotless. The cottages are in an excellent location, close to the local supermarket and an easy drive to Mt Cook. I can honestly say I preferred staying in Twizel to the overcrowded and commercial Mt Cook village some 35K away. I have no hesitation in recommending Rosedale Cottages.

When we first stepped into the cottage, it was soo clean! Very well managed and the owners were very friendly and approachable as well. If you are new to the area, you can ask them for eateries recommendations as they give very good recommendations! If you are in Twizel, the cottages are not to be missed!

Rosedale Cottages was one of the best places we stayed at during our 12 day trip to New Zealand. It was truly exceptional in every respect. The cottage was very well equipped and absolutely immaculate and spotlessly clean. It was like staying in our own home. The rooms were well furnished, beds very comfortable, and the kitchen was equipped with everything you could think of. Even though the weather was cold on some of the nights, the cottage was always warm and cosy. The availability of Netflix was popular with our two boys, especially after a full day of sightseeing, hiking and other activities. Immediately prior to our arrival, I called Debbie to let her know what time we would be arriving. During the conversation, I mentioned the types of activities we were thinking of doing during our stay. When I arrived, Debbie had researched all my options and presented me with a selection of print outs and brochures. Since we had arrived just after lunchtime, Debbie also included a number of suggestions for local restaurants. During our stay, Debbie and Dave were absolutely wonderful, hospitable hosts. They made us feel so welcome and treated us like family. They were very knowledgeable about the local area and the sightseeing opportunities that were available. Our two boys were particularly enamoured with Daisy, their very sweet and lovable dachshund and Debbie and Dave were extremely generous with their time and very patient in allowing the boys to come over and play with Daisy. My boys would probably say that Daisy was the best part of visiting Twizel. So overall, I cannot say enough good things about Rosedale Cottages. I wouldn’t hesitate to return here on a subsequent visit and would unequivocally recommend it to friends or anyone else who was visiting the Twizel/Mount Cook area.

Nearing the end of our stay here in Twizel NZ 😩Have to say thank you to Debbie & Dave for our wonderful lodgings. Our 2 bedroom cottage was fantastic. Debbie has thought of everything to fit it out just like home. The little things like salt, pepper, cooking oil, milk, foil, cling wrap, toilet paper and washing detergent. Chocolates were a nice touch 😁 Modern clean & comfortable Highly recommend 👍🏼

Had two great nights at the Rosedale Cottages. Hosts went out of their way to make us feel welcomed. Cute cottage with plenty of room. Two bedrooms but we only used one. Bed was pretty firm, might have been nice with a foam topper (I’m a bit of a princess when it comes to sleeping 🙄). Close to Mt. Cook (40 min) and the town has restaurants and groceries. Great find.
