Very spacious units, thought full design, work desk, kitchen facilities. Having owned a Motel we are always looking for good Motels to stay in. This is one of the best. The Managers were very approachable and offered helpful advice for my fishing experiences.

Clean and simple. Comfortable and nice kitchen area. 40 minutes to Mt Cook National Park. Place has cramped parking most of which are close (1 meter) from your front door. Did stub my toe on a floor mounted doorstop in front of the bath tub so watch your step here.

My husband and I stayed in a 2 brm unit with our adult daughter after completing a hike at Mount cook. Fabulous friendly host, wonderful clean unit. Comfy beds and awesome spa bath which was very welcome to soak the tired legs after our hike

I organised a group of 18 to do the Alps to Ocean, We found the hotel very comfortable. I took ill and needed to stay on as was unable to walk. The owners were so kind looking after me nothing was to much trouble.
I would certainly recommend the Lakes.

I stayed one night on my way north back to Christchurch. The property was excellent. I had a full one bedroom that way enormous. It was clean and well cared for. The only problem here is that the restaurant selection in town is minimal and certainly not exciting. Not the Motel's fault however.

Spacious room, large bathroom, well equipped kitchen. The free Wifi was much appreciated too. Extremely comfortable bed, and lounge chairs. Spent 2 nights here for work. The management were very friendly and added that "little bit extra" for a very comfortable stay. I will definitely stay here again.

We booked for 3 nights at this motel. Warren and Fiona are wonderful hosts. The unit was extremely clean and comfortable with superb daily servicing. It is very well located near the town and all the restaurants. The bonus was having a guest laundry as we are on a fortnight road trip. Thanks Fiona with helping me sort out the laundry appliances! Having SKY tv was also a nice surprise. We will definitely stay here again. All the best to you both.

Very spacious and comfortable rooms. Good heating controls on room radiator. Motel is about 5-7 minute walk from local restaurant. Stayed here for one night as part of group cycling tour - the A2O. Nothing special but very comfortable nights stay, and no traffic noise.

Amazingly good staff, extremely friendly and will go above and beyond to make your stay a memorable one, rooms are warm and comfortable. With huge spa baths. My first choice of places to stay when I'm in twizel, can be very popular so make sure to book in advance.

Some of our studios have a double bed and a single bed. There are no sofa beds at The Lakes Motel
hi there, we took the wonderful drive from Twizel to Mount Cook Village. it took approx 50 mins by car. Probably allow longer because you'll want to stop for photos!
