Nice place to stay at. Very handy to shops and bars. Just across from the motel was a food cart for takeaway meals and in the morning two more set up where you could get coffee and breakfast from. Reccomend staying to others.
Room was very clean and comfortable, with excellent facilities. Very close walk to restaurants and shops. Check-in and out very easy, and hosts were very friendly and efficient. Will definitely stay here again. Excellent price too!
A revamped typical 1960's motel, comfortable bed, cooking facilities, updated bathroom. Pleasant colour scheme, quality linens. Well insulated and quiet. Everything you need when on the road. Greeted in a friendly cheerful manner with lots of helpful information about the area and our onward trip. Value for money, don't expect the Ritz.
Initially on arrival we were a bit concerned with how the motel looked from the outside but were pleasant surprised when we went inside. The exterior is of no fault of the owners, it is simply an older building. The room was clean and tidy and has everything you need. The heatpump heated the room nicely and the beds were very comfortable. I would definitely stay at the Lakes Motel again.
We stayed here on our 1st night on the A2O. Although unit didn't look much from outside, it was clean modern and comfortable with a veranda area leading onto an enclosed grass area where your bikes could be parked. The manager/owner was super helpful and friendly and the location was within walking distance from Cycle Journeys depot and the town centre. Recommended for cyclists doing this ride but probably would not stay here as a traveller.
