Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

We had a basic hut/cabin. It is a ~10m2 room with 2 single beds and a nice porch outside, which was all we needed. Cabin kitchen and lounge are well equipped with just enough capacity (max 2 persons cooking simultaneously). Conveniently located at 45min drive to Mt Cook village.
Main thing we missed was the feeling of a warm welcome. Quite long delay at check-in due to circumstances (this can happen but 45 minutes wait is never nice of course). Although we understand why, the place is covered with forms with rules. Staff is friendly but with a clear business attitude. Shared bathroom facilities could use an upgrade.

We stayed in a private room which was very spacious and clean but the TV didn't work, the WiFi in our room was terrible and the kitchen was too small for the number of people trying to use it. Plenty of free parking available on site. Within walking distance to Countdown. It was fine for a one night stay.

My husband and I stay here often in our caravan and absolutely love it. The showers are always nice and hot and are cleaned every day and to a high standard. They are always polite and very accomodating. It’s a small but well run organisation. We will be back again for some Salmon fishing at Easter....They also do great summer and even better campsaver fares in winter for the NZMCA members! very relaxed and One of the nicer places we have stayed. Highly recommend!

Arriving around 3pm, the check-in lady was annoyed when I turned up because she wanted to go on her late lunch break. She quickly took the money and showed on the site map where our site was. We booked and paid for a non powered site but we were given a powered site. I'd normaly be happy with this, but the site was just a dusty space. I wasn't expecting green grass, brown dried grass would have been fine. Attached photos. Everything in our caravan awning got covered in dust. I realise the management can't stop the wind but this is not a site worth paying for. It's what you'd expect if your late in to a freedom camping spot. It was also extremely narrow to get the caravan into.
No playground or anything for kids.
Wifi is awful. Alot of signs with rules everywhere. They also write on the sign the punishment if the rules are broken, and that security cameras watching. Just what you like to read as you go in for your shower.
My wife talked to a staff member when they were finally cleaning the bathrooms after leaving their dirty cleaning rags in one of the three sinks available for around 15 hours. The lady didn't care about any of the issues, apparently we booked late and thats why we got that spot. She said they have lots of good reviews. She said she'd let the manager know and they'd come visit us. We never saw anyone. Don't waste your money here.

Cold and bathroom did smell like urine. Also after we checked in we went out fishing and locked the door behind us. When we arrived home found the room was unlocked our curtains pulled and heat pit turned right down.

Checked in at night- it was cold and wet- when we got to our cottage the heat pump was on so the place was nice and warm. Great shower and water pressure! It was quiet when we stayed. I'd stay again. The cottage had a car park space allotted to it but some other car had parked there which was annoying but the Park owners said we could park on the grass in front of the cottage so that made it easy to unpack car etc in the rain.

A friendly place although you hardly saw anyone around. Nice, clean, and comfortable but there were a few oddities--one of which was there were no handles or latches on our windows, but we were told they had just completed some painting around the place. Hot and cold water was odd simply back to front on sevel basin tabs we used. No shampoo but there was a tiny bar of soap for the basin and shower perhaps forgotten. And an electric outlet was dead centre behind the pillows on this double bed. Other than that we had a nice size room and a relaxing time with virtually no one around.

This is a lovely camp ground, great hot showers and close to the alps to ocean cycle trail. however, we had very noisy people camping in tents next to our caravan who kept their noise going till almost midnight . We mentioned this at the office the next day , but the same thing happened the next night !! Need some control here, as we haven’t encountered this elsewhere. Quiet after 10-30 should mean quiet.

Good points - hot showers. Level areas with grass matting. Close to town. Bad points The toilet/shower block is poorly lit and smells. Not at all pleasant. Laundry only one washing machine operating all others and all dryers out of order. Not good enough when you are paying $48 a night for a powered site. If facilities are not available you should be offered a discount. I would not recommend this park.
