It was such a treat to stay here. Not a motel, not a hotel, perhaps something in between. This was a perfect choice for staying somewhere in the region. The setting at the airfield is great, and it's only a couple of km from the township. I much preferred it to what was on offer in Twizel itself. The room was clean, quiet, spacious and comfortable. I fried a couple of eggs every morning for breakfast. The upstairs lounge was a lovely retreat, and worked well when some friends came to visit. I would definitely stay here again.
We were lucky to have the accommodation to ourselves - never expected to find a large guest lounge with views of the Mackenzie Basin plus and even larger kitchen lounge and outside deck area for residents to use. Absolutely brilliant bed with great linen Easy to use bathroom Rooms have plenty of space with a ranch slider to access outside seating. Having recently stayed at the Hilton in Queenstown this property is MORE superior. It is the quality and the service that makes a place. Well done Mary
We enjoyed a wonderful 2 night stay with Mary and Grant where they recommended and dropped us at restaurants, shared their passion for all things aviation, showed us their plane and were perfect hosts. In addition, the rooms, facilities and setting were first class. We will stay again. This is an ideal venue for anyone with an aviation interest and we are sure that their success will only build as other become aware of how good staying at Pukaki Air Lodge is.
Highly recommend this place. Modern spacious rooms right by an air strip. In addition lovely shared kitchen area and superb guest lounge with a view of Mt Cook. A little bit out of town but onwers volunteered to drive us in for groceries or meal. Bikes stored in hanger with a chinese fighter trainer plane
Muddy and Mary were very welcoming and made us feel at home immediately. Beautiful, comfortable rooms with incredible views across the runway out to the hills. Was lovely to stay there as a family and be able to prepare our own meals - a welcome change whilst traveling and eating out constantly. Unusual location but in fact turned out to be one of the best places we stayed on A2O trail.
