Detailed Reviews
Woomera is a military town and accommodation is self cotained FIFO rooms with bedroom and ensuite. Set out in various buildings, rooms come off a central corridor with laundry facilities. Rooms were very clean.
The hotel has a lovely deck to sip a wine or two and watch the sunset. Meals were pub style meals and drinks and food is reasonably priced.

What a great pub, the meals were great, served all 6 about the same time, the seafood platter was hot and plentiful, the drinks were a reasonable price, The hotel decor is of the 60s when the town was thriving. They also do a good coffee in the morning. Will definitely come back again when next in Woomera.

Accommodation was adequate for an overnight stay. Slightly out of date bur well maintained. The big surprise was the bistro and bar that served nice cold drinks, amazing food (oysters and duck on the specials board) and a well shaded deck with a nice view. Interesting place to stay as an alternative to Port Augusta.

No complaints about the room. It was adequate. However we were woken at 1.00am by other guests yelling and fighting and then having very noisy intercourse. This continued until about 3.30 am. When we were leaving there were smashed beer bottles in the exit corridor.
We also lost the key to the room. Normal key on a plastic keeper. We complained to reception. We later got an invoice for $78 for the key replacement. We rang the hotel who said we should have called 000 and maybe in hindsight we should have. She also said the rooms held defence personnel as though that should excuse their behaviour. Also her comment regarding the cost of the key replacement was a sarcastic "do you know where we are?" As if they'd make a special trip to the city to get a key cut. Very disappointed.

An oasis.
The Eldo is a great option to stay at if you are travelling between Adelaide and the Outback.
It is part of the ex forces acommodation and is in the middle of a lot of upgrades.
The rooms are fairly basic and still have a "barrack like" feel but are very clean and comfy.
There is a lot of of work and upgrading happening to the other blocks opposite too where we stayed so I imagine the acommodation will be much better eventually.
The highlight was the restaurant - the food is good, great atmosphere and Chris the barman funny and very attentive.
Also enjoyed the check in proceedure - the lovely lady at reception was very fun and nice, shame we did not find out her name.

I didn't come in with high expectations but was pleasantly surprised. Yes the rooms are older but they are clean and well maintained. The bed was comfortable and the room was big.
I had dinner at the hotel restaurant and that was fantastic. Beef schnitzel with chips with mushroom sauce. The schnitzel was huge but really tasty and garlic pizza topped it off.
Overall yes I would recommend the place. An oasis in the desert

Really you wouldn't stay here unless you had to. The apartment we had was ok but the lounge was filthy and the carpet had stains all over it. The A/C worked great so that was a small blessing but we had to clean all the plates and cutlery before we used it as it was all dirty. Probably better travelling to Roxby and getting better accommodation

Stayed here just the 1 night at the end of a lengthy road trip. Wasn't expecting a lot and was pleasantly surprised...yes the accommodation is extremely old but it was clean and had everything we needed for an overnight stay. The amazing thing here was the quality of the food from the pub. We've eaten in some great restaurants on our trip and this meal outshone them all....

One expects to be sleeping in a motel/hotel style accommodation, instead you are given a key to a unit in an old military barracks which is located away from the actual hotel facilities. Our room was in A Block about half a kilometer from the hotel. Our car park was at the back of the complex under a carport. The entrance to the unit was through the back fence along a red dirt path to the back door. It was untidy with pieces of timber laying around, which I assumed were put there by people who didn't want to walk in the mud. The unit was old but clean, straight out of the sixties. There was a wardrobe but no coat hangers. There were also no tissues. no hair dryer like you find in a standard hotel.
Both the hotel and cafe were very modern and served good food. The staff were also very friendly.
our unit cost $242.00 for the night, one hundred dollars more than Adelaide and Coober Pedy which were well appointed and both built in this century. This is an organization that is trying to pass itself off as hotel accommodation but barracks built for military personnel.
If you can avoid staying in Woomera, carry on to Coober Pedy, or Port Augusta where everything is cheaper and better.

Very few hotels in Australia allow pets other than assistance dogs. I'd suggest a 'phone call to Eldo might be the answer.
My room had one but there are different types of room and I can't be sure they all have them.
Send the hotel a question using Facebook messenger from their Facebook page. I had some questions and they got back to me within the hour.

It varies but a reasonable room for two will be from $120 to $250 depending on season and occupancy. Military drills and exercises are when the hotel is nearly full.
