Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

We stayed here after our Pride of America cruise. Sadly for only 1 night. My sister in law recommended we have a drink at House without a key before we left Hawaii. I made reservations 4 months in advance (even requesting table #97 Earnest Hemingways table) for the sunset. After looking at the website, I decided to book a room for the night there too. Wow, the hotel is gorgeous! The views unbelievable! Our room was beautiful! And dinner, with the sunset, rainbows, and music with renowned hula dancer ….magical! I wish we lived closer than 5,000 miles 😔

My wife and I stayed at Halekulani for four nights and it was a truly exceptional experience. We arrived at the hotel around 11:00am, and even though our scheduled check-in time was 3:00pm, they held our luggage and let us use the guest lounge and pool. Since we didn't have a room number yet, we just needed to provide our last name and they added any food and drink charges later. We told them we were there for a baby moon vacation, and they provided fresh fruit, chocolate-covered strawberries, non-alcoholic apple cider, and a congratulations card in our room. A very kind touch! Our room wasn't advertised as having an ocean view (we got a Garden Courtyard room), but we were very pleasantly surprised to find it having one! All staff members were friendly, welcoming, and accommodating. When we first got to the pool, they only had lawn chairs available. Once pool-side chairs opened, they quickly helped us move chairs. Servers frequently walked around to take drink and food orders with prompt delivery. My wife accidentally knocked over my brand new Mai Tai, and they replaced it free-of-charge. The food at Orchids and the pool (I think that was House Without A Key?) was very good. We had dinner at Orchids one night, and also ate there via the Breakfast Package almost every morning. I highly recommend the Breakfast Package; you get a ton of food for $50. One night, we did in-room dining and I expected plastic containers and lukewarm food. Nope, they brought in a full rolling-cart with metal utensils, ceramic plating, glasses; everything as if we were sitting in the restaurant. They even rolled it onto our balcony so we could eat while looking at the ocean. The food was hot and fresh, and they delivered it within 20 minutes of ordering. The hostesses at Orchids were so friendly and even stopped to chat with us as they were coming in for work. 10/10 service. The hotel is conveniently located at the northern end of Waikiki without feeling too much in the middle of a tourist trap. We booked two tours and the pick-up locations were within a five-minute walk of the hotel; it is also about 20 minutes from the airport. It has a small private beach next to the pool, which was clean and a great place to swim and soak up some sun. Lastly, we booked a couple's massage via SpaHalekulani, and we agreed it was the best massage we ever received. My wife got a Pre-natal massage and I got the Halekulani massage (with hot stones). Zach was so friendly and professional and great at his job. Unfortunately, we can't remember the name of the masseuse who massaged my wife (maybe it was Carpis? not totally sure), but she was equally amazing. If the hotel reads this, please try to find out who she was because she also deserves special recognition! Halekulani will be our go-to hotel when we visit again!

If you are looking for perfection at every level then you need look no further than the magnificent Halekulani Hotel. Its not known as "The House Befitting Heaven" for nothing! A touch of tranquility in the heart of the cosmopolitan jungle that is Waikiki.

Our travel planner arranged our stay at the Halekulani Hotel in Honolulu for one night during our journey from Lexington, KY to Sydney. Since our flight crew needed rest, Hawaii seemed like a suitable place to make a stop. Although the hotel is not classified as a luxury establishment, it has a nostalgic motel vibe that unfortunately comes across as rather cheap. The towels, sheets, and linens did not meet the expected standard for a hotel at these prices. The room lacked modern conveniences and seemed outdated, reminiscent of early 2000's technology. The bathroom was nothing out of the ordinary. The restaurants were average, with nothing particularly noteworthy. To our disappointment, everything, including room service, closed by 9:00 pm. We had to resort to ordering food through a delivery service. Typically, a 5-star resort would accommodate late-arriving guests, but this was not the case here. The view of Diamond Head volcano was pleasant, but the hotel's pool and beach were quite small. All in all, we would not choose to stay here again.

Lovely stay at the Halekulani Hotel and will definitely visit again! I sought a beach experience and relaxation and it was all that and more. Gracious woman at my check in gave me a complimentary room upgrade from partial ocean to ocean view. I chose breakfast plan as part of my room charge and did not regret it. The staff is attentive. The concierge knowledgeable. I highly recommend the Halekulani.

We had a great experience at Halekulani Hotel in Honolulu. Every staff member was so attentive and on point, beautiful suite , and attention to detail. Make reservation for the Sunday brunch couple of month in advance, it is amazing. Afternoon live Hawaiian entertainment at the House Without A Key which is a popular venue and to enjoy the spectacular sunset view. Definitely highly recommended to stay at this heavenly hotel, and be pampered during your stay.

We visited Halekulani on our Honeymoon and it was a superb experience! The staff were fantastic, very approachable and always happy to help. The room we had was exceptional, extremely comfortable and a fantastic place to unwind after long days exploring the island. The onsite restaurants are all fantastic as well, with excellent service and excellent food. (I would double check before booking La Mer though, it's very expensive and a very formal environment so make sure it fits your vibe before going there) We cannot wait to go back and visit again, one of the best hotels I've had the pleasure of staying at.

If you are ever in Oahu, the Halekulani is the place to stay. And if you can afford it, book the Halekulani Suite. It is absolutely amazing! The pictures online do not do it justice at all. When the door was opened by our personal butler, my breath was taken away. The luxuriousness of the suite, along with the view, is worth every penny you will ever pay. If you want first class accommodations and first class pampering, the Halekulani is the place the stay. My husband and I will definitely be returning.
