Nestled right on Waikiki Beach, the Sheraton Waikiki Beach Resort is celebrated for its prime location and vibrant atmosphere, complete with ocean views and live music. Guests have lauded the resort's amenities, especially the infinity pool, and commend the service delivered by friendly staff. However, the praise is tempered by reports of inconsistent service and seating challenges by the pool.
While the modern rooms with breathtaking views impress, some guests have cited issues with noise and cleanliness. Moreover, concerns about value are voiced due to high costs for what some perceive as basic amenities.

Our ocean front room provided stunning views of Diamond Head Mountain (floor 9). The infinity pool looked as if it was one with the ocean in pictures and had unobstructed views of the water. Housekeeping occurred every day, with Roger being the BEST housekeeper ever - greeted us with compliments and encouragement each day. The location is insane as we were planted right in the heart of Waikiki, giving us quick walking access to all of the bars, restaurants, and shopping. Our bed was great and I slept amazing all six nights of our stay. Finally, we booked directly through the hotel’s website and were able to get $400 back on our payment when I noticed the price dropped for a New Years special. Thank you, Sheraton and Marriott! We will 100% be staying here every time we visit Waikiki in the future.

We stayed in the infinity view room, 22nd floor. Looking at the ocean, still a view of Diamondhead and the sunset(at least most of it), and great pleasure to observe the Sea Turtles. It was great having a Lanai to sit out in the morning for coffee and late afternoon Rose’. The room was very clean with wonderful housekeeping daily. We had a problem with the fridge which was rectified immediately. We had great assistance and very quick response with any questions prior to and during our stay from Tiare in Guest Relations. The staff at the front desk were excellent in assisting us with a late checkout as our flight was not until 11:45pm.
The adult infinity pool is great to sit by and soak up the sun, not much shade and few umbrellas, but a great spot. Have stayed at many resorts over the years where access to a pool chair is difficult as people leave towels or whatever to save a chair first thing in the morning and then head off to do whatever. I was pleased to experience a different practice here. The pool staff are attentive and after a while will put a notice on the saved chair stating that the stuff left behind will be removed by a certain time. When the time comes, they remove the towels or whatever and store them and voila chairs are available, very pleased to see and benefit from this.
The resort fee is a little high for what you get as the rooms themselves are not inexpensive, but this seem very standard in Waikiki.
The beach is right outside the hotel, and although busy always a place to lay a towel. We brought our own beach blanket and towels from home which was great to have, but you can easily buy them at various stores close by.
There are a lot of great restaraunts nearby but I would recommend making reservations, nice to plan ahead rather than being disappointed.
You are in the middle of everything, so very busy, but a great vibe.
Enjoyed our stay and would not hesitate to return again.

This is our second year in a row coming to the Sheraton Waikiki. While we loved the trip (who doesn't like Hawaii) and enjoyed the hotel, also some caveats which I'll get to later. First the pros: the service at the hotel is outstanding, everyone super friendly and responsive, whether in person or using the Bonvoy app. If you want to be in the thick of waikiki, the location can't be beat - you're right on the beach with a ton of restaurants and higher end shopping within a block; everything easily walkable. All tours come to this hotel for pickups as well. The main pool can be a bit crazy but the infinity pool (16+) is awesome and not packed. The rooms are relatively updated and clean; great lanais with picturesque views; tons of elevators so rarely have to wait. Overall hotel is in great shape and feels higher end so I think the value is solid for what you get. You will spend at least double for the higher end 4 or 5-star hotels, and I'm not even sure those won't be packed either. This hotel doesn't get the bargain-shopping cheap-os either. Now the caveats/nits: it's understandably a very popular hotel so lots of people and families with children. This is not the place for couples seeking a quiet venue or teens wanting Instagram pics everywhere. The pools can be love/hate. I learned last year to book cabanas on our pool days, because I really dislike having to wake up early to just go get a spot, plus I wanted a shaded area. It's a premium cost and you have to book early (at least 6w but refundable within 48h). One reason the pool is crazy is because they share access with the Royal Hawaiian and other Sheraton properties nearby, plus they may even sell day passes. I suspect a lot of people just sneak in and they don't do a good job checking wristbands in the main pool (they are pretty strict in the adult area). The cabanas "solve" most of that - great service, guaranteed chairs, decent food service from Rumfire, etc. The other nits are the wifi and room size. Our first room had good wifi (on right side of hotel with view of both ocean and Diamond Head) but we had to switch because our neighbor had a screaming toddler two nights at 3a and refused to console them! 2nd room more in middle had terrible wifi, to where the TV even had reception issues at times. The hotel rooms are also way smaller than a typical hotel room; you really have to get creative to have 4 people (two adults, two teens for us) and their luggage operational. That said, we knew we would not spend a ton of time in the room. Overall, a great location and hotel base that we can recommend, though only if you're cool waking up to secure pool chairs or booking cabanas. If you need space or are big people, would recommend only putting 2 people per room as well.

The Sheraton Waikiki is in an excellent location right on the beach and is one of the few hotels that has an adult only pool area. The amenities are excellent. The staff was friendly and my Gold Status with Marriott was recognized. The rooms are large and spacious with good views of the ocean. However, the cleanliness of my room was below expectation and unsatisfactory when I first checked in. There was a long strand of hair on the toilet and the shower curtain had a very strong foul and sour odor, most likely from mildew. I had to keep the bathroom door closed the entire time to prevent the odor from permeating into the rest of the room. On my second night, I had housekeeping replace the shower curtains and then the smell was eliminated. Additionally, the majority of the pillows in my room smelled like body odor and old sweat.
I had the privacy sign hanging on my door on the second day. However, housekeeping disregarded the sign, entered my room, and cleaned my room despite my request for privacy. This is very alarming for a hotel and is unacceptable.
Poolside service was mediocre. I had to walk to the bar and seek someone out for service (after waiting for an hour for a poolside server to come over to take my order for food/drinks) despite paying for a water lounger. The staff at the bar told me they were short-staffed and only had 2 poolside servers. I ordered at the bar and had to carry my meal and drinks back to my water lounger. This is not the type of service I expect at a hotel of this level.
Overall, the location of the hotel and the amenities are the best part. Otherwise, I would not recommend staying here due to poor poolside service, lack of cleanliness of the rooms, and disregard for the guests' privacy requests.

After a few years I returned to the Sheraton Waikiki, and unfortunately I have to confirm my impressions of 2019. Let's start with the positives. The location is sensational, directly on the beach with a splendid swimming pool and a very beautiful lobby. The problems come later. I confirm everything I have already written about the new room design: the search for an original design only leads to more uncomfortable and less usable rooms. The big problem is the location of the bathroom. The sink is practically located in the room: the tap is next to the bed, divided from it by a sort of Venetian blind made of vertical wooden planks. Using the sink at night disturbs those who sleep a few centimeters from the tap.
Another problem is given by the Wi Fi, which is included in the expensive "Resort Fee", but offers a scandalous service. The connection is exasperatingly slow, and is just fine for exchanging emails or WhatsApp. Totally inadequate for working. The connection is so bad that even the internet TV installed in the room cannot play movies without freezing!!!
Finally the breakfast service has worsened. Until 2019 the restaurant offered a buffet breakfast. The cost of breakfast was quite high, but the variety, quality and quantity of the products offered justified the expense. Breakfast has now been converted to "table service". under the pretext of covid, at a cost comparable to the old unlimited buffet, you receive a simple plate of eggs and side dish. After finding this out we abandoned the restaurant and turned to the numerous restaurants around that offer breakfasts at a fraction of the cost.
I honestly don't think we will return to this hotel, given the abundance of equally scenic, better service and much more convenient locations in the immediate vicinity.

We have stayed at Sheraton Waikiki countless times since the early 2000’s because the hotel is in a great location on Waikiki beach, the two pools are phenomenal and staff were warm and friendly. However post Covid (stayed July/Aug 23), the hotel has cutback on staff, service and the bountiful activities once provided for the whole family. The 3 restaurants onsite runs one at a time, they used to have a wonderful buffet breakfast with lovely staff and this no longer exists. Our kids were disappointed as most of the fun activities such as hair braiding, the mermaid, parrot and the take home souvenir of a family photo are no longer available. When we asked one of the staff at the pool what’s happened to all the great activities, she said the Japanese tourists aren’t coming so they have cutback on the activities, she did offer us private surf lessons that we were not interested in but also a little out of our price. Housekeeping missed our room a couple of times, one evening we had dinner booked and had to cancel as we waited for towels for 2 hours - even when I went to reception and spoke to the manager he didn’t make any attempts to fast track some clean towels. The A/C didn’t want to work over 2 days as well. But when we were checking out and my husband requested a small discount off the daily resort fees (we thought that was a fair request given the resort has cutback on so many services), we were told the manager had to approve this who wasn’t available at the time but they would contact us - and of course we didn’t receive a call back. Pretty poor efforts Sheraton management for guests that have been very loyal for so long. Quite a few improvements need to be made if you would like guests to keep coming back.

Completely overpriced. Our first time in Hawaii I chose Sheraton Waikīkī due to location as we are with newborn and two other kids aged 6and 9 and easy beach access is a must so older kids can roam around and access the rooms, the pool and the beach without crossing the road. Location is central to all shops and restaurants and is very convenient , I would say best on the beach. However! We hardly used the beach as it’s very hot and after paying nearly $1400 a night for two rooms to fit us we find out that beach beds are an extra $150 and free beds are only available in direct sun. Good luck enjoying your holiday with a newborn. We were kicked out from the grass by a staff member as palms and shade are reserved for Cabana guests that cost $350 a day! For someone that will be using the beds 3/4 hours at maximum this was a ridiculous price to pay. Extra for beds is ridiculous by default when you spend over 12k on your accommodation! Location is the only thing that is going for this place. Rooms are dirty, someone’s hair everywhere. Found hair in bedsheets and bathtub, dust all around. Felt quite gross sleeping here for 7 nights in this dirt. Our first night was in a two bedroom suite. The bathtub there has mould under the rims 🤢 I regret not taking a picture. The other 7 nights were in two diamond head rooms. The basins are clogged and Aircon is so loud it feels like you are on the aeroplane. A much wiser decision would be to stay in a hotel across the road somewhere for half the price and hire a car as there is better beaches (Lanikai for example) for kids around the island than dirty overcrowded Waikiki. Sheraton is 3 stars at best. No robes, tiny rooms, small closet that doesn’t fit even half of your clothes. Do not pay the price, choose something cheaper hire a car and explore the island. On our first day we checked in at 12 pm and the room was not ready. Although the staff pretty quickly fixed the room and we got our keys within like 5 minutes the reception attendant told us we had to wait till 3pm. For the second day he said we had to check out at 11 and stay without a room till 3 as that’s their check in time. I was puzzled again having spent nearly 2k AUD a night here to be told these things while travelling with a newborn. Again the next day we were actually given the rooms straight away without a gap but I do feel like not all reception attendants are nice or try make you feel welcomed. Just feels like u abide by our rules or else. Not pleasant. This experience left me not wanting to stay at any of the Marriott properties in the future to be quite honest.

It was a regular family vacation before the pandemic, but it was my first stay in four years due to the children's entrance exams. Anyway, check-in is a long line, like whiplash on a tired body, and in high season it's a 30-60 minute line. If you have a Sheraton Gold Card, you can take a shortcut. The room has been renovated and I'm especially happy that the bathroom is separated from the sink. That makes the room feel small. Baby strollers and large pieces of trash for people with small molecules are also left out in the hallway in some rooms, but the hotel doesn't feel bad either. Bottled water that used to be replenished daily has been made sustainable, and packs that can be used as many times as needed during your stay have been provided, and a system has been set up near the elevator to fetch water each time. Laundry on the 5th and 18th floors was renovated, with both washer and dryer going up to $6, with only one washer available with $1 coins and the rest credit card-enabled. For 1 dollar coins, there is a bending machine where coins come out when you put in the bill. kai market, a buffet-style restaurant on the ground floor that was very convenient and affordable, is still closed for dinner. Other than that, it was a comfortable hotel of stability.

Great location, very nice staff. We met Jennifer at Check-in. She so nice and friendly. I love checking into a hotel, and seeing the staff so welcoming. Good touch on starting a vacation. Our room had a great view of Diamond Head. Probably on of the best hotels we’ve stayed at for the views. Honolulu Coffee Company is located near the pool and there is a kiosk at the hotel entrance circle. We love this coffee. The Edge of Waikiki bar is super convenient. There is a side take out station, where you can easily order drinks. It’s very organized and they have a dedicated bartender working that area. I wish all bars had this. Minus 1 star for internet speed. Even with my Bonvoy status, I was only getting about 41 Mbps. So best way to stream is to use their apps on the tv or download on iPad then watch. Infinity pool area can get busy. Sad that people save their seat with a towel (or a book) then leave to go eat breakfast/lunch. Marriott should consider a time limit of leaving a lounge chair. Just posting a sign would help from people doing this. House keeping staff is very friendly. They are always eager and willing to clean the room, or give you more towels or other toiletries. Don’t forget to tip them. They deserve it. We’ll definitely be back here. The staff is fantastic.

I made the reservation through Marriott Bonvoy, but I received an email from the hotel before the day of my stay, so I felt at ease because I could directly communicate with them about my arrival time and requests for a lanai in a room with a fence type lanai. I don't know if it was because I'm a gold member, but I was able to check in and enter my room before 10am. It was a partial ocean view, but the view was so good that it was scary, not only of the ocean but also the night view at night was beautiful, and I was impressed that I could see the fireworks at the Hilton. I had a lot of showers for the first 2-3 days, and I could see a rainbow from the Hilton every morning (that's why it's called the Rainbow Tower!) It's a large hotel with over 1500 rooms, but there are 10 elevators in operation, so there is no waiting. Perhaps because of the historically weak yen, there were not many Japanese guests, and I did not meet any Japanese staff during my stay, but all the staff were very nice. The wristband-type room key was easy to use because it was attached wherever I went, but my husband dropped it somewhere and couldn't find it, so I showed my passport at the front desk and had it reissued. If you go by 10am, will the beach chairs by the pool be available?
However, if you just reserve a spot with your beach towel, they may be removed when the pool is full.
The adult infinity pool was nice. Everyone was spending their time peacefully reading books. I also brought an old paperback book. They also came around to take orders for tropical drinks.
You can take the rental beach towels to the beach.
There is a Lawson and a cookie shop in the hotel, so you can get souvenirs at night, and the Royal Hawaiian Shopping Center is connected, so the food court is nearby and convenient.
The air conditioning in the entire building was so strong that it was so cold that it woke me up, but when I requested it through Marriott chat, they brought me a blanket right away and the air conditioning seemed to have been turned down a little.
There is ice and a water server near the elevator on each floor.
Other than the poor drainage of the sink in the room, it was an absolutely wonderful stay.

Hi haley They did hold are luggage for us but as you know things change. Every year all hotels seem like they want to do less and charge more. I would contact the concierge by contacting the hotel 808-922-5811 or your travel agent. Have fun if you go.
