Every single hotel employee that we had the pleasure of crossing paths with were extremely polite.
Our room, on the west side was over looking the Fort DeRussey Beach Park and the Fort DeRussey beach.
The location was spectacular with amazing view of sunsets, the beach, the water, the Friday night fireworks, the city and finally Waikiki.
The beds were heavenly to sleep on and the pillows were soft and comfy.
We like that we received key cards for our pool towels at check-in, as well as nice water to-go containers. We also took the pool towels to the beach.
Our room was spotless and housekeeping was generous with shampoo, conditioner, body wash and soap.
A good size bar fridge that had no items in it. Allowed for a bottle of wine or 2, half a dozens cans of beer on the side, couple of bottles of screw top pop, 2 containers of takeout and some small size items.
USB port on the lamp, extra plugs were accessible in the room if you needed them and a small safe.
Keurig coffee maker that had Hawaiian Paradise Kona blend dark roast coffee pods which ended up being some of the most delicious coffee we have ever had and the little creamers were yummy too and generously replaced by housekeeping every day.
There is no corkscrew in the room. We called down and the hotel staff was quick to respond and brought up wine glasses that we requested too.
The pool lounge chairs were very comfortable and there was always some we could grab as people came and went. Did not see any "towels on loungers waiting for their owner to come back 3 hours later!"
There is a small beach out front of the hotel, however the hotel does not provide complimentary lounge chairs out front on the beach. There is guest services on the beach where you can rent a lounger and an umbrella.
Hawaii beach rentals next door to the hotel, on the beach, will provide loungers and umbrellas for rent if you need them as well.
There is a small ABC store in the hotel to pick up some of your sundry/liquor items if needed.
Only valet parking at the front of the hotel, no parking.
We used Uber and Lyft and they were both available for us.
Very safe area to walk around with lots of restaurants and shops up Beach Walk.
This was a spectacular hotel with staff that were an 11 out of 10 and we look forward to returning.
The check-in as always was fast, easy and non-stressful. Ambrose was excellent & could not have been of more help & met my upgrade request for an ocean view room immediately. He acknowledged I was a GHA Discovery Platinum member & matched the benefits straight away including a nice box of chocolate macadamias for my wife.
The room we had was 1651, notably on the 16th Floor with views across the reef in front and part of Waikiki main beach. This was also a Club Room. The latter giving us access to the "Voyager 47 Lounge", which quite frankly is the best in the world we have ever been privileged to be invited too.
The housekeeping was unparalleled in our view with other hotels and set the bar and our housekeeper was always friendly and did a great job. She was very nice and a joy to see each day.
The food was great & more than just appetisers or canapes. It was plentiful, very tasty and an excellent variety. Similarly, the drinks had a wide range, were continuously flowing & good quality. Each day there was a different cocktail choice to go with the Standard daily Mai Tai. Each afternoon we started with one of each and went from there. The prosecco, beer and wine choices were also very nice, and we could match our canapes of chicken, spring rolls, beef, cheese & biscuits, curries and the like. Each day had different food which is a wonderful attribute, especially when staying quite a few nights.
The lounge location on the 3rd floor terrace overlooking the beach & ocean, lent itself to spectacular views, experiencing great sunsets and lots of water activity. The staff at the lounge could not have been better and a credit to themselves and the amount of tips they received. Highly recommend you push your budget to include, as you do save money on drinks and dinner for sure. Breakfast was also always good and plentiful!
The Monkeypod restaurant is also a great choice for dinner, with excellent fish, drinks & atmosphere. We also liked the pool bar and had a few nice Pina Coladas there, plus beautiful Poke Nachos. The bar staff were always receptive, attentive and most importantly made nice drinks. That is a good place to meet people also.
That end of town is slightly quieter than mid-town and nicer for that, but has plenty of good restaurants, the best ABC shop in Waikiki, Steak & Rice (highly recommend a feed from there) amongst other amenities close by.
This was our 3rd time at the "Reef" & amongst our favourite Waikiki Outriggers and we will be back for our 14th time in Hawaii, with this hotel the first we book.
Go on make a reservation and you won't regret it.
Cheers.
While the hotel has been renovated, it’s clear that the property is older, as some of the design and layout feel dated. The bathtubs and tapware, in particular, could use updating. On the positive side, the beds were very comfortable, and the room sizes were good, although the views weren’t great, as they looked over the next block. Corridor noise was also noticeable in the room, which suggests the soundproofing isn’t up to modern standards.
The Club breakfast was decent but a bit basic—I would have liked to see more variety in the options provided.
Overall, it’s a functional property with a great location, but it could benefit from more attention to detail to meet the expectations of today’s travelers.

This is a smaller (in our opinion, perfect size), well-equipped hotel, right on Waikiki beach, next to the Sheraton, and a short walk to the Hilton Hawaiian Village. It is quiet, yet close to all the shopping and restaurants you want to walk to. Upon check in, Izy gathered our bags. When we decided to move to a different room, Izy was so helpful in moving our bags to the new room and he even went down to the front desk and got us our new keys. The room had a comfortable bed, refrigerator and lots of space but no microwave which was disappointing. They could use some softer towels and better toilet paper, but everything else was very nice. They give you complimentary stainless steel water bottles and have refill stations throughout the hotel which is appreciated. Did not see recycling bins. Everyone at the front desk was helpful and friendly. They have a nice store with super sweet employees, a row of shops connected to the hotel including an ABC Store, a tour desk to arrange anything you want to do while in town, an on-site restaurant (Michael was a fantastic server) and an outdoor pool. Checkout was easy, and the friendly Bell desk guys stored our luggage for us since we had a red-eye flight. Izy helped us again as we waited for our Uber, and things were really starting to pick up for the holidays when we left on Dec. 19th. Gave a whole different feel to the place.

The morning buffet offers fewer dishes than top hotels in Japan, but the $30 price tag is a good value.
ABC store on the ground floor is convenient for easy shopping.
Notable is Blue Note Hawaii on the second floor. For a table charge of around 10,000 yen, you can hear top artists perform live. I was in line an hour before and could hear it in the front row. The food and drink were reasonably priced and I went there for three days out of six nights.
We stayed for 7 nights in what we thought was just a standard room. Turns out we had full resort views along with ocean views.
The reception staff are really helpful and were able to check us in early which was so kind as we had been on a 8 hour night flight and really wanting a shower. They also welcomed us with a gift as it was our one year wedding anniversary.
The rooms are modern and in good condition which is why we booked Outrigger Reef and not the Outrigger Beach Resort. We did have some issues with our toilet being blocked but it eventually sorted itself out.
A great vibe at the resort. More than enough pool loungers available. There is a small beach outside the resort where you can swim. It is a bit rocky but still so lovely to swim. It’s a short walk to Waikiki beach or the other direction towards Hilton where you can also swim. You will see the best sunsets here!
ABC convenience store in the hotel which was so handy. As well as the largest ABC store just around the corner on Lewer St. Restaurants also located in the resort including Monkeypod which everyone must try!
The resort had live music at their restaurant each evening which made for such a nice vibe at the resort, we would be in our room with our balcony door open just listening from there and it was great. This only goes until 8pm so not too late if you’re wanting an early night.
Housekeeping staff were lovely and super accommodating. They would ask for our preference on a time to come back and clean if we were in our room. Really went out of their way.
Overall, this resort was well worth the money and exceeded our expectations. Management should be very happy with how their staff are operating and treating guests. Will definitely be back!
Although the outcome was a good one, it doesn't erase the hell we went through. It ruined Christmas. It was a mistake, yes, but it's not like the bunny was small. It's actually the size of a couch cushion and it was just carelessly scooped up. Plus, why did she enter with my husband in the shower? We didn't even want the linens changed. If we had, we'd have cleared off the beds. This experience felt like a beloved pet had gone missing and there was nothing you could do about it. I know it sounds silly, but anyone who has a child with a special toy of sentimental value will understand.
I was disappointed that most of the tracking down of the bunny was in our hands and there was zero compensation for their error... not so much as a breakfast coupon! I thought that was pretty crappy.
Interestingly, on Boxing Day morning, the laundry facility called because they had found another bunny from this same resort! So please be careful and never leave anything in, on, or near the bed if you're getting the room cleaned. We sure learned a lesson. No more cleaners in the room, and I personally wouldn't stay here again due to the problems they caused us. It's too bad as it's a lovely hotel in a great location.

My only criticism for the hotel management was that our oceanfront balcony room was accompanied with construction going on below us. Since our peaceful bliss was intruded on, with the cost of the room in mind, the construction was not a welcome surprise. We are understanding that improvements are needed, but some notice or resort credit would have been appreciated.
