Aloha stablegirl, Mahalo nui for your review and for choosing to stay with us for two nights. We really do appreciate the opportunity to have hosted you. I hope that you were comfortable despite the rustic look of our furniture as well as noise coming from the city. A clean room along with a comfortable bed are huge priorities for us. We would love it if you chose to stay with us again the next time you are in Waikiki. Have a great new year, and enjoy the rest of 2018! Warm regards, Christopher Weeks Director of Guest Services

The staff was friendly and service oriented. We were allowed to leave our luggage the next day until a later pickup which was very convenient. The hotel is conveniently located and the amenities are nice. We appreciated a free drink in the bar. An ABC store is at the corner, i

Aloha 13455TXmaryt, We are all so thrilled that you enjoyed our friendly service. We know that our property is not as big as the other resorts surrounding us, so we work hard on our core values which is guest service and experience. Thank you very much for leaving such wonderful compliments. We are all very humbled by them. If at any time you are coming back to visit Waikiki, it would be an absolute pleasure to accommodate you for another holiday getaway. I am so glad you had a wonderful time, and I want to thank you again for taking time out of your day to leave us such a great review. Mahalo nui loa! If your on a budget and have the ability to take a few nice walks, the beach is right across the street, a high end (Ala Moana) mall is to the West and Waikiki is to the East. All within a nice walk. A short drive to other great locations. They provide beach towel to borrow and

Aloha javrox1, Thank you very much for taking the time to leave us a review on TripAdvisor. We are so happy that you enjoyed your stay as well as the amenities offered at the hotel. I am glad to see that our property is in a location that suited your needs while traveling. There is a lot to do here in Waikiki, and you can easily spend all day either at Ala Moana mall or at the beach! Every hotel in Waikiki charges some sort of a resort fee/parking. In Waikiki, the average resort fee for hotels in our category is $23.37 and average cost of parking is $29.38. We wanted to stay on the low end of the resort fee to pass savings on to our customers. Parking, unfortunately is just so hard to find in Waikiki. Space is so limited and rent is very high. For future reference, there is free, overnight parking on the Ala Wai (just read the street signs for street cleaning). The Ala Wai boat harbor behind the Ilikai hotel is free from 5:00am- 10:30pm. The cheapest 24 hour parking on our side of Waikiki is across the street from our hotel above the Red Lobster at $23/day. The next time you are traveling to Waikiki, please call or email us directly so we can get you the best rate available. Have a great day and thank you again for choosing to stay at the Equus. Your patronage really means a lot to us! Warm regards, Christopher Weeks Director of Guest Services

This is a no frills hotel and has all the basic facilities. The maintenance could have been better but no major complaints. I wouldnt mind staying here just for the area. It is very close to the beach.

has anyone else been charged resort fee after checking out and travel agent assures in booking that it is included. have had no reply to my e mail from this establishment. they are thieves. thieves thieves. Do not stay here or you will also be robbed by the management. thieves!
It sounds like the travel agent is the one to blame here. It states clearly on the website that there is a daily resort fee on top of the room charge. No thievery going on there.

Aloha! We want to come back to Honolulu but want a hotel that has it's own beach chairs and beach. Does the hotel provides beach chairs and towels? Are they free for guests or do you have to pay for them each day? If so, what is the price? And are there enough chairs for everyone? Many thanks!!
They offer towels they had plenty of them I don’t know about the chairs thou I didn’t ask

I am traveling with husband. I have difficulty with stairs. Must I climb those stairs for access to elevators? We will have two large bags and two carry ones. Is there help available to get luggage up the stairs if we need it?
Aloha, Yes, the stairs would be the only access to the lobby level of the hotel (19 Steps total). We definitely have staff that can assist with luggage upon check in and departure. Should you have any other questions please feel free to ask. We look forward to seeing you soon! Mahalo, Brandon S.

Hi there I want to come here for our honeymoon Is it a motel ? Is it near a lot of restaurants ? Is the beach far ? Is there bigger rooms ? Thank uuu :)
About a 5 minute walk to the beach, quite a few restaurants in walking distance. The room I stayed in wasn't particularly large, but I would imagine they have larger rooms. The hotel concierge was worth the stay, he really made finding the "right" attractions easy. (Not relying on brochures, but talking to someone who had visited the attractions/restaurants)
