Reviews summary
This summary was created by AI, based on recent reviews.
Powered by AI
The Omni Providence Hotel captivates guests with its blend of elegance and charm, although opinions vary with some deeming the decor grand and others calling for updates. While the rooms are generally seen as clean and comfortable, there are reports of them being somewhat dated and occasionally lacking in maintenance. The hotel's service receives a mixed reception, with experiences ranging from exceptional to disappointingly unresponsive.
Despite praise for the hotel's cleanliness, the noise from HVAC systems and street traffic has been a point of concern for many. The hotel's prime location and convenient access to the convention center and mall are well-regarded, but the absence of a pool and modern amenities have not gone unnoticed.

We booked last minute at the Omni after we discovered our original hotel was filthy. The kids were treated with coloring packs and cookies and milk, they had a fun swim in the pool and there were lots of restaurants nearby (though many closed on mondays). Everything was clean and the staff are very friendly.

Stay was okay. Room was not made up for our last night there. Coffee was not replenished and when I mentioned that the room had not be made up, I received a canned "Oh I'm so sorry to here that." I requested coffee pods and they sent up(about 30 mins later) 4 decaf (which I don't drink) and only 2 regular with no cups for the morning. They should have asked, "What would you like us to bring up for you?" After using other local hotels, Omni would probably be choice #3 for me when comparing service and value.

A busy, semi-upscale hotel with a centralized location. Be aware that you must use valet parking and that you have to use a bell hop to get your luggage to your room. It really seemed like they were trying a bit too hard to give off an elite vibe.
The pool was out of commission, which was a shame because giving the kids a place to swim was really the only reason we chose to stay here.
The views of the capital building were beautiful and it was within walking distance of plenty of shopping and restaurants.

I was extremely dissatisfied with may stay this weekend in the Presidential Suite. First, I understand the hotel was busy due to the holiday weekend, but the room was not ready at check in time, so the front staff took my phone number and were to call me when the room was ready. I never received a phone call and had to stand in line for 30 plus minutes to receive my room key. Upon entering the room there was a funny smell, my wife and I thought maybe it was the cleaning fumes as the room was just cleaned. Unfortunately that was not the case. Upon further examination the horrible smell was from the sauna. The previous guests smoked marijuana in the sauna room, the smell was absolutely offensive and down right sicking. We called down to the to complain and we told nothing could be done. We tried to put our minds at ease by opening a bottle of wine to try to relax after all the check-in and room issues. But the room a Presidential Suite did not have any glasses or wine cork. I called down and ask for those items to be brought up, I waited half an hour nothing, I called again, I waited 45 mins nothing. I finally called one last time and the wine glasses were brought up shortly 15 mins later. So, after waiting that long with no wine cork, a large suite that smelled like marijuana. I tried to ease my wife and her health issues by drawing her a bath, but the fumes from the sauna right next to the tub were too strong for either one of us to be in the bath room for more than a minute. So, horrible experience at the Omni Providence.

My husband and I stayed at the Onmi Providence on Saturday February 22nd. We have stayed there before and choose to stay there again for the convenient location.
We were in Providence to see a show at the Providence Performing Arts Center. It was really easy to park the car in the garage on the 4th floor, and walk down the hallway to the hotel to check in. We had a nice dinner at Centro, then walked a few blocks to the PPAC. The next morning we ate breakfast at Centro (they have the best bacon ever) and checked out.
We had a king size bed overlooking a roof of a building and the back of the convention center. It was your basic standard hotel room. We were only there one night, and it served it's purpose of us sleeping there so we didn't have to drive home to Boston after the show.
What did stand out to me was how friendly and helpful the employees were. The front desk staff at check in and check out were great. While we were walking in the hallway from our room to the elevator to go to dinner, a housekeeping employee walked by and asked us if everything was okay with our room. The staff at Centro at dinner and breakfast were really great and so nice.
We will definitely stay there again next time we are in Providence to see a show or catch a Bruins game.

I was very disappointed in my stay. The room was not an upgrade, after saying it was. We got back to the room after a night out and there was a random tray with a bottled water and silverware set ONLY in front of my door. I called down to ask what was this and it turns out that I was supposed to get a piece of birthday cake. Well there was nothing in the fridge and the tray was outside the room...no cake. So either they took the cake back and left the tray, or some else took the cake. Either way, why would you leave the tray outside the room not knowing how long I would be gone. That is just plain weird. Also, we called down twice the morning of checkout to get a shower cap for my wife and nothing. Probably a good 10 mins between calls and then ended up forgetting about it. As I sit here and type this, still no shower cap. What is going on with customer service here. I will never recommend this hotel and I am very disappointed in Omni. We stayed at the one in Amelia Island for our anniversary before and that is why I booked this one. Just sad.

The staff from front desk, housekeeping, maintenance, fitness area and restaurant were all professional and welcoming. All were Ambassadors of the Omni Brand. The only issue were the pillows and getting the correct combination for comfort. The matress was perfect.

The lobby, room, and pool facilities were very clean and modern, and a great location in downtown Providence! It’s next to the convention center and the Dunkin arena, and Providence Place Mall. Right near great restaurants in the Federal Hill neighborhood, and less than a mile walk from the river, and the RISD Art Museum which we loved. The staff were efficient and pretty friendly. I do wish they had queen beds or a pull out couch my son.
I know the valet parking was through a separate company, but the process and time duration could have been clearer, and the hotel staff didn’t know much about it except for the cost. My husband forgot his mask in the car and the man at the gift shop kindly gave him a disposable one which was appreciated. They gave us one bathrobe for the room and 2 sets of towels instead of 3. Plenty of hand towels though. The bathroom was a great size, and had the close line in the tub which my husband loves for drying bathing suits. We will definitely stay here again if the rate is still affordable.

My husband and I come here yearly for our anniversary. The rooms are always comfortable and clean Our favorite part is enjoying breakfast in the room in the morning. They used to roll in a cloth covered table with a beautiful breakfast on real plates covered in stainless steel covers, a pot of coffee, glasses and silverware. This year we were handed plastic bags at the door that contained our "room service" breakfast in take-out containers. No plates, and plastic forks. We were expected to eat out of to-go containers. It was extremely disappointing, yet still the SAME price. $80 for 2 scrambled eggs with bacon and toast. We could have ordered door dash or Uber eats for less than half the price and had the same experience.

Arrived and checked in to “renovated East wing” no air or heat toilet not working Iron in room not working no water pressure in shower. Housekeeping walked in without waiting to make sure no one was in room. Expensive parking and waiting forever to get car from valet. Major renovations going on in hotel with loud construction going on. Overall bad experience not up to four stars.

Thank you for staying with us during your recent trip to Providence. My apologies that we have not lived up to your expectations on your recent trip. Items such as heat and a toilet not working are certainly not up to Omni standards. We did have a couple of days of roof repair that was unavoidable, I apologize if that disturbed you in any way. We do hope you can visit us again soon.

I would just call them and ask. When we were there in July, they seemed to be changing their fees often, which means that even though we thought we understood what the charges would be, we experienced some very unpleasant and expensive surprises. Ask about everything: parking, Internet fees, restaurant prices (dining in, take out and room service), anything else you can think of, because every move you make will likely have a fee attached to it.
Its a garage and is expensive however if you”lose your ticket” it’s only 1 days charge
