Thousand trails are one of our favorites but occasionally they are lacking. Here the laundry room was down due to a dryer fire and they where under a boil water precaution due to needed upgrades. We are “easy keepers” we don’t require paved, groomed campgrounds. Although for as much money as thousand trails are receiving from their members we expect the monies to go to upgrades for the infrastructures such as water, laundry, electricity, dump stations and any other accommodations that they specify having available be in good working condition.

I stayed here with my son for one night in mid-May as a base for Pinnacles National Park. I called ahead for a late check in, around 9PM, and as promised instructions were left for me at the front gate. Unfortunately the code to raise the gate didn't seem to be among them. We couldn't call because we had no cell service in this area (I have T-Mobile). After debating parking outside and walking all our bags in, someone thankfully drove up trying to get in behind us and let us in (when I showed him the note). The campground is huge and we got lost that first night, but eventually figured it out. We never were able to find out the gate code, but thankfully someone else was behind me again when I came back the next morning after heading out to get gas (from the closest town, about 25 minutes away).

We were in the Eagle Cabin. The cabin itself was lots of fun, pretty much entirely nice new looking light wood paneling, with a nice kitchenette and a flat screen TV mounted up high. One large bed in a separate room, one bunk bed in another room. Both were comfy. It felt very much like a true community, as the cabin was surrounded by other permanent structures in that area of the campground. It was nice and quiet.

The RV "Resort" is very much out in the middle of nowhere, about 25 minutes from any sort of town. Cell service was non-existent for miles surrounding it, probably the worst I've had while traveling. Who knew huge swathes of California were still outside cell service areas? We paid for Wifi at the cabin (there was a guide explaining how to do it), 5 dollars a day. Unfortunately after about a minute this Wifi didn't work either. Just be warned there is very spotty service in this area, even if you pay for it.

That said it's a pretty area. I saw a deer right outside the RV park entrance right beside the road. It just stood and stared at my car from about ten feet way, could care less! Overall I would stay here again, but be sure you're gassed up before you arrive and that you can do without cellphone service/wifi if need be.

We had a great stay at the san benito thousand trails. There was a brand new miningolf course w new bricks, paint and green carpet thanks to Ben, Don and Mark and Cassie, Jules in the maintenance dept. The entire park was open and we used our own equipment and masks and gloves ofcourse. The new mini golf was elevated, new concrete, added drainage and day glow black lite paint and score sheet holders. Maintenance took their time restoring the entire golf properly making it the new million dollar mini golf.

The rangers do a terrific job. Kelly is lint free and raises, lowers the flags, and puts them at half mass on and off the clock. Kelly has a great working attitude and it's hard not to notice she always carries a lint roller and lint brush in her sock. We got 3 patrols an hour from rangers Izzy, kelly and kathy. Kathy shines and always wears her name tag straight. Kathy issues an ink paper printed receipt for every transaction. Kathy is professional A plus grade. We left our cooking set up outdoors for the entire weekend and really appreciated that in this campground and from these perfect rangers. The rangers here sparkle and shine and take care of the park well. Every one of them is detail orientated, Professional, courteous, respectful, well qualified and well trained. Izzy needs a park of her own to run, shes proved her importance and takes initiative in every department. Izzy is well experienced and valuable in all departments. Jenn rescues baby raccoons, deer and kittens. Last stay she had a whole apple box full of wild kittens she had rescued from underneath one of the getaway cabins. Thank you.

Big Mike, " Mr. customer service" always delivers the Goods. One evening there was loud ethnic music playing and excessive drinking at 10pm. Mike, the acting manager for san benito thousand trails drove round and round that campsite until 11pm and then broke up the party so the rest of us 629 other campsites could get some sleep. Mike is active, reactive, proactive and extremely knowledgeable of the history and products of 1000 trails. Mike is a very nice man and is available 8 days a week to members and public and his co staff. Mike is a family man.

We really like Rachel in the cleaning department. Rachel is neat in that moments before the daily clock out, she touches up every single bathroom in the park. That's neat. We also notice the young man w the clean cut well groomed pony tail who cleans the laundry room 3 times a day. He and Tony in maintenance smile and wave to us the most from their busy carts.

Wonderful getaway for my birthday. The park was decorated for Halloween which was fun since it felt like the whole park was celebrating my birthday. The wild animals that we spotted throughout the park made it feel like we were a lot further from town than we were ( only 25 minutes outside of Hollister) Cabin was clean and kitchen had all the the little extras. I was happily surprised there was a teapot to use as well as a coffee maker. My partner was happy to find that we had a toaster as well.
It was a relaxing getaway that we look forward to doing again

For a Thousand Trail resort it’s on the Mediocre side, very rustic side the amenities could use some work, but is coming out if a very wet winter season.
The Tengointernet Wi-Fi the you pay for is very bad and needs to be upgraded to a more faster system campground wide! There is no T-mobile service at all cell, data or otherwise!
Even though the Garmin Rv GPS will send this way, I recommend not coming in from the King city side if you have a large rig it’s a very narrow and windy Road! Take the extra time continue north on the 101 cut over to Holister then south on the 25 to the Campground!

Always a peaceful stay when we come to San Benito. Friendly staff especially the activities director Jenna. The superbowl party and tailgate was great. Loved the music with the live DJ.
The campground is always clean and especially this time of year after the rain it’s so green and beautiful. There are many things to do in the area and it’s close proximity to the Monterey peninsula. Had the best hamburger and onion rings Ever at Johnnys bar and grill. Great Mexican restaurants and my go to tamale guy outside the Mexican market. The bathrooms are always clean and well stocked the pool area is nice and the abundance of wildlife is so nice to see. The employees have pride in their park and they Love their boss. My favorite campground in the area.

I come often with my family & it seems the cleanliness is horrible. We use bathrooms & shower here but lately its a mess every day we go no toilet paper no soap no papertowels n no toilet seat covers not clean. Its disgusting. Who ever is cleaning isnt even marking off the times they "clean" i have seen 3 to 4 days n no one shows up to clean or restock any supplies. Bathrooms clogged and full of mess. Showers not clean u see hair clogged in drains n water coming up no clean stalls when i can still see hair from shaving on the walls. Yuck. Mirrors are dirty faucts a mess floors become muddy with packed dirt in showers. I recommend if u come to this place be prepared to bring ur own supplies like mop broom n toilet paper along with soap. Also the laundry room is also a mess no one has cleaned in days sometimes weeks. How can i wash with beautiful new washers when full or dog hair and andts everywhere not to mention dirty floors and garbage cans full with clothes left all over tables.
Its nice you are trying to improve the park but first keep up with the cleanliness to satisfy regulars and guests. N please restaff whom ever is in the housekeeping dept. They are either not working or very dirty people. I would hate to see their homes if they cant keep park clean.

Overall the cabins were cute and perfect for our need. There were ceiling fans and an A/C in the main bedroom and living area which was key. Our smaller cabin had a full size fridge and 2 burner stove & microwave.
BUT - I wish I had a Swiffer, the floors were very dirty, I did not want to take my shoes off or let baby crawl around. 5 second rule does not apply. There was also food left over in one of the cabinets.
It was nice to be able to use the pool - but again the cleanliness was very questionable. The water was very murky - but we did go in to escape the heat & promptly showered afterwards.
The check in process was great we pulled up and they gave us the key and a map, charged the credit card on file, done.
