Beautiful place to stay, wonderful atmosphere - booked an extra night because of this! We are very very social people so loved to meet new people at the the local bar and restaurant. The retreat was also very close to other amenities in this small town. Perfect stay and wonderful staff. Thank you
From the initial booking related questions, to booking, staying…. The staff at The Rainforest Retreat were excellent, helpful, respectful & friendly. I stayed in a studio motel room & it was one of the most luxurious stays I’ve ever had. The on-site restaurant ‘Monsoon’ is another little gem. Mel, one of the receptionists were also very helpful in getting a kayak activity booked. Will most definitely be returning God willing sometime in the future.
It’s a dreaming place! The stuff is the best. As soon as we arrived, Mel was very helpful with everything. The breakfast was one of the best. We’re really happy with this experience We’re already planning to go back
Absolutely beautiful accommodation with all the little details taken care of. Beautifully appointed room - especially the bathroom with underfloor heating (so welcome in June in NZ!), a movement activated nightlight. The spa pool was wonderful! The breakfast basket had all we needed and the complimentary chocolates and wine was wonderful. We didn’t eat at the restaurant but the menu looked really good. We even got to meet the lovely we Ruby!! (Puppy).
Booked a 3 night stay for my partners 60th birthday. So peaceful and quiet. We booked a room with a private outdoor hot tub, well worth the money. ( Room 9 ). Room was exceptionally clean. Staff are very friendly and helpful. We walked to restaurants in town , only 5 mins away. Would not hesitate to book this again, they have a great deal on at the moment. There is a selection of complimentary beers and wine in your room on arrival and a continental breakfast is delivered to your room each evening. Loved it.
Awesome place to stay, no problems at all and really enjoyed the services provided. Breakfast included was amazing, bread tasted divine and the free consumables offered was an awesome wee touch. Thanks guys!
I stay here around every second month for work. The team here are wonderful, friendly and welcoming. I stay in a Deluxe Treehouse. Very clean and spacious with really nice amenities. Includes a breakfast that’s delivered to you the night before and comes with some complementary wines and beers in the mini bar. By far my favourite place to stay when in Franz Joseph.
We booked this holiday accommodation a year in advance, for my 60th birthday treat, as the cruise we had booked was cancelled due to COVID 19. We thought a deluxe treehouse with spa was very different and boy the choice was a revelation. The setting was excellent, set in a very tree and plant living area which at night the paths to the accommodation were lit up. You could see the mountains from our room also. The spa was spacious and relaxing. It was maintained on a daily basis even if not used. We stayed 6 nights, probably unusual, as it seems more of a short stay mid travel point of call., and housekeeping on a daily basis even though we did not need it every day. . Staff were fabulous and we felt part of a family. Special mention for MEL who did a mulitude of jobs always with a warm smile and Many who was service manager at the Monsoon bar and restaurant. Many had time for us and made us feel very welcome. Al, other staff we met were great also. Would we stay again? YesYes Yes…
A gem on the West Coast to enjoy some luxury after an adventurous day or two. Each delux chalet set perfectly in the bush. Our chalet (14) had a wonderful view of the mountains peeking over the top of the forest. A great restaurant on site had great food and even better service.
