We stayed here as there was no room in the Fox Glacier Lodge where our friends were staying. This lodging was fairly basic, with three small rooms sharing a common area with a kitchen. It was clean and functional, and they were very accommodating after we had to check out early.

I stayed at Ivory for one night. It was very clean and nice place. I got a separate room for nice price (there was only one more person staying in this place, as it was right after covid pandemic ended, so not a lot of tourist). Kitchen fully equipped, room was warm. I'm taking away one star due to not working sauna and jacuzzi (no info on their site about this and I was hoping to use it) and due to wifi not working perfectly in the room (it was working ok in kitchen and hall)

Sometimes you get people's loyalty if you are actually at least nice to them. these greedy people only think about money and never really care about anything else. there will be a point in your life where you will be in a tough place. I just hope that people will actually care and not laugh about it just how you did to us. will make sure to never recommend you to anyone

This wasn't not too bad until we found that one of the beds was full of hairs. Can only assume that the linen wasn't changed between guests. Maybe we were just unlucky, maybe it was only one bed out of our 4 beds but it made us feel pretty revolted. Don't find it till 11 pm otherwise would have complained.

I arrived at Fox Glacier just before 4pm and left at 8am the next morning, so I didn’t have a lot of time there. The one thing I wanted to do was go to Lake Matheson to see the reflections of Mt Cook and Mt Tasman in the water at sunset. Only problem was, I didn’t have a car or any way of getting there on my own.
When I mentioned this to the hostel owner (I think?) upon check in, he said offered one of his bikes for me to take, and I managed to make it there in time for a beautiful sunset!
This ended up being an absolute highlight and I couldn’t have done it without the generosity of the hostel owner. Despite the short time I had in Fox Glacier, he really helped make it unforgettable!
The place itself was lovely. Kitchen was spacious, my room was cosy and warm, and the shower was excellent. If I could, I’d go back to Fox Glacier just to stay at Ivory Towers again!

Great place, we received a warm welcome, it was super clean and tidy, cozy beds. Kitchen was well stocked and there is a nice sitting area and tv lounge, didn't use the hot tub it was a pretty busy night. Would definitely recommend and stay here again.

Stopped overnight here on our way down the South Island. The rooms were clean and warm, and the lounge and kitchen were very large and spacious. Bathrooms small but clean and modern. The hostel also has a spa pool, which is very modern and new - a real drawcard. We enjoyed our stay here and has everything you need for a stopover :)

Thank you! Lovely hospitality. Cozy and warm room, nice queen bed, nice bathroom, super kitchen, and- even more magical- a soak we looked forward to. There’s nothing like a hot tub under the southern cross and punga. Prices were extremely reasonable. Cute posters and nice touches. Quiet, warm, and comfortable. A super way to recover from some hard tramping.
