This is a very quiet and restful site with great mountain views. There is a large kitchen with all you need (cookers, sinks, boiler for hot water and tables with bench seating. There is also a laundry with a large sink for handwashing clothes and clothes airer/driers in 3 locations. Highly recommended.

Good place to have a relax on the West Coast. The location has cool alpine views of the Southern Alps and is close to Lake Matheson. Walking distance to the pub. The powered campsites may have fresh water close by, not just at the dump station.

The whanau and I stayed in a 2 bedroom 5 berth cabin/motel unit for 2 nights. It was well appointed, clean and tidy. We especially appreciate the air con as it was a very hot day and the washing machine/dryer being in the cabin as we had been on the road a few days so need to do some washing.

We stayed here for two nights in February the staff that checked us in were not very friendly and told us that we had to be out by 10.00a.m. As we have travelled around the world we were well aware of this. We had booked a motel on this property and when we enter the unit it was clean but we were expecting it to be serviced the second day that we were staying but no it was not and when we looked at the things that were offered you had to put a deposit on everything even clothes pegs if you wanted to do any washing. The Room was very noisy as the room that was next door it sounded like people were moving the furniture. The price that we paid I would have expected at least to be offered clean towels on the second day and the unit to be cleaned including taking the rubbish out which we did ourselves. I would not recommend these units to anyone but would pay dearer as stay somewhere else. We have used Top Ten Caravans Parks around Australia and found them to be very nice and friendly that is why we chose this one but sadly it didn't come up to the standard that we were expecting.

An older Top 10 in need of maintenance and better cleaning. We stayed two nights in early October in a camper van on a powered pitch during six weeks touring NZ. This was our third Top 10 franchise site and far the worst. The only positive points were the pitch was almost level, the electric hook-up worked and the communal kitchen area was relatively clean. The rest of the facilties were just disappointing (especially compared to the Queenstown site). The showers (about the most important factor for campers) are in unheated bathrooms. Of the three showers in the men's room, one had no place to put soap with rusty screws in the wall where there had once been a caddy, the second had a non-working light and all three had only intermittent hot water which fipped from hot to cold every couple of minutes. All three were grubby and the benches in the cubicals were tacky to touch. We reported the broken light on arrival. The manager said "I know about that" but it was still broken on the last morning. Just about sums up the place

I liked this park, it had many different facilities and overall I think the park is great. Although we've got very dirty room with flood stains on the ceiling, with dirt on the carpet, spiders on the walls and our main sheet on our queen bed was missing. We only had one socket in the room, and electric powerboard with a very short cable that would never actually get to the socket. There is no vent or fan to cool down the room during summer hot days, the open windows would not do much and people who were passing by it were very noisy so it was impossible to rest or sleep with open windows in the room. For some reason park allows guests to stay directly under the windows of the rooms, which makes it impossible to sleep during the night as guests are opening and closing their car doors non-stop from 5 am to 2 am. There is no sound or heat proof in the cabins, the windows are single glazed. To play ping pong or snooker you have to remember to get the balls and other supplies from the reception till 7pm, and put a deposit. The kitchen, showers and a toiler were pretty clean and helpful. You can also loan some cutlery from the reception, but again until 7pm. I would probably prefer to stay in a tent next time, than to sleep in a disgusting room like the one we've got, with missing sheets and one working socket for $85 a night.

We loved our 3 night stay here with our 2 kids in a basic family cabin. What stunning scenery to wake up to! Friendly staff, central setup meant we met other families and made friends. Trampoline and playground kept our 5 yr old entertained while we relaxed. Spotless rooms with blackout curtains really made a difference. Even the camp kitchen has beautiful views. Such a relaxed environment to spend time. Lake Matheson and stunning views only 5 mins away. Small cafes and pub and shop just down the road. Also a family spa with stunning views is available for booking for a small fee for half an hour, or 1 complimentary session if you're a Top 10 member. Highly recommended for a few days' stay. Forest walk with distant views of Fox Glacier only 10 mins away, 2 hrs return, doable with children. We loved our stay and would love to come back one day!!! Thank you.

This park is located down a side road on the route to Lake Matheson but is walkable to town if you wish to stretch your legs. The vehicle pitches will accommodate larger vehicles but it would be helpful if there were some wider pitches as when the park filled up some campers with caravans struggled to manoeuvre. We have a camper van and also felt squeezed on our site. A vaccine pass was requested although one of our party stayed in the vehicle and was not ask to produce the pass. We used the washing facilities and the machines apparently already have detergent added but our whites did not come out super clean. We also had to hunt for a washing line which were located in the camping area and by an accommodation block. We could not locate one specifically for the camper van area. We only stayed a night so had limited use of the facilities but they were roomy and could accommodate larger numbers. Due to limited numbers not all of the facility blocks were open. We found the ladies block clean in the evening (although all 3 soap dispensers were empty for the duration of our stay). In the morning a gross camper had abused a toilet and shower cubicle. It was unsanitary is the best way of describing it. There was a hair dryer but it wasn't powerful enough to dry hair quickly. With regard to the sanitary condition of the showers - it makes you appreciate what camp site owners have to endure when cleaning these facilities because they were clean on arrival. We put that one down to someone who should be ashamed of themselves. Ladies if you have long hair and shed clumps when showering try cleaning up after you. My cubicle had clumps everywhere. It was like Cousin It had showered before me. It was the only campsite I visited this summer where I felt I needed to keep my jandals on. The park was quiet at night and on the brief moments the clouds cleared we had an amazing view of Mt Cook. We would stay here again if travelling through.

Thank you for the detailed review Karen. We have multiple different sized powered sites to comfortably accommodate Campervans and Caravans although there are specific sites for caravans and these may have been booked already at the time of your stay. We apologise one of our guests made a mess of the bathroom, as you mentioned unfortunately due to limited staff because of Covid our cleaning is run on a tight schedule however your comments have been passed on to our team. On a positive note aren't the mountain views you mentioned spectacular! 😍 We are the perfect base to explore all the beautiful Fox Glacier area has to offer.

Very helpful and friendly staff, especially Janine.
We were traveling in our EV and Janine organised the charger just opposite our cabin for us. At a mere $5 to charge it was a real bargain.
Spotlessly clean they even have small towels by each sink in the ablution block.
Seems to have kitchen blocks everywhere.
We had a cabin that was warm and quiet.
Despite a recent review I thought the camp was well laid out (we also have a campervan and are NZMCA members) with hard stands which Im sure is appreciated when the West Coast rain does its thing.
Easy walk into town.
Spa is free for Top 10 club members but book it as soon as you arrive as its popular!
Camp also has its own back up diesel generators which was great on our stay as the power went out at breakfast time but the backup kicked in.
We stayed here as they had EV charging and coming over the Haast there are no fast public chargers between Wanaka and Franz Joseph. Pleased we chose to stay here.

Very nice holiday park. We came on Christmas Day, so we were warned the kitchen might be a bit more busy since restaurants in town were closed. We only used the kitchen area for doing dishes and it wasn't bad at all. Overall, a very nice holiday park.

If you are travelling for extended period of time it would pay off to get a membership to the Top Ten Holiday Park NZ. Once you’re a member they give generous discount not only with site costs but also with attractions around town. You can book your site directly with them or if you do become a member go through the Top Ten site and they will arrange the booking for you. Your site cost wether you choose powered or unpowered automatically includes 2 adults.

Hi Rachel, Thank you for your message. Yes we do have Motorhome Sites available. We have Powered and Un-powered sites. Powered for x 2 adults are $55.00 per night Un-powered for x 2 adults are $48.00 per night. These prices increase if you have more people. Kind Regards, Kimberly

I have visited the area many times and have never known them to be much of a problem, certainly not like Milford Sound. As people have mentioned, they are more of a problem near the coast, and in warmer months - Oct - April.

HI, there are no free campsites? So I am not quite sure what you mean? A night in July for two adults is $40 for a powered site. This includes the use of power, toilet and shower facilities.
