Lovely old Edwardian villa in good condition and run by a very hospitable and helpful lady. Reshma welcomed us on arrival and showed us the two rooms we had booked for our group and offered us refreshments. Everything was clean and in good condition. The garden is lovely and well tended, and we enjoyed some of the fruits of it with our breakfast. Reshma cooked our breakfasts to order and they were generous and delicious. Reshma also organised a lunch booking at one of the busy wineries for us, something that took her some time and effort as everything was busy! Very hospitable.

This B&B looks just like it does in the pictures. The house and grounds are beautiful and meticulously kept. The owner, Reshma is fantastic and has such an eye for detail in how she decorated the house. We stayed in the Orange Grove room and found it so comfortable, in fact we got our best nights sleep at this B&B during our whole trip. We really enjoyed taking with Reshma and she gave us some very good tips on. what to see while in Renwick and what we should not miss on our way to Kaikoura. Thank you Reshma!! She really made our time special during our stay. Oh, and the breakfast is wonderful also, you won't go hungry, The grounds are beautiful with so many different places to sit and admire the gardens. We highly recommend staying at this B&B, you can 't go wrong.

A delightful English style Bed and Breakfast! Set in a beautiful heritage style home surrounded by stunning gardens! Flowers everywhere and a very serene environment! Reshma, the host was very helpful, her knowledge of the area is immense and she booked two local restaurants for us which were both amazing! We told Reshma that we were going to the laundromat, but she quickly said, don’t be silly, I will do your washing. Upon our return our clothes were drying on the line in the Marlborough sun!
Our rooms were very comfortable, and the beds were great!
Our breakfasts were delicious, big old fashioned English breakfasts! Eggs, bacon, sausage, rosti and cooked tomatoes, lots of toast, including gluten free toast for me! Reshma even gave us a bowl of the homemade salsa! So yummy with our eggs!
There were four in our group, we had one room downstairs with ensuite, and one upstairs with ensuite!
The back verandah and lawn are the perfect place to have a quiet drink before heading out for dinner! And a great way to meet the other guest and have conversations to discover that six degrees of separation! There were free push bikes and I am sad that no one in our group wanted to ride!

Unfortunately we encountered a somewhat drunk and arrogant hostess who felt that her inability to manage her rooms and guests was our problem. We checked in early at lunchtime and left all our luggage in one room as the others were still being cleaned. When we came back at 6:00pm one of the rooms was occupied by another guest. We were moved to his (better) room. We went out for dinner and when we arrived back at 9:00pm our hostess advised us that we were liable for the difference between the 2 rooms. Our attempts to achieve a satisfactory result (we suggested she move everyone back to their original rooms) were dismissed and we were accused of being racist as the other guest spoke English as a second language. Needless to say we didn't stay for breakfast or pay the the additional charges.
Could be OK but do a breathalyser first to make sure. I will not stay here again.

Response from Resh16, Owner at Anglesea House Inn

In response to your rather distorted review, as a host I would like to go on record as to what really happened on the night of your stay. It was the weekend of the Wine and Food Festival in Marlborough. You requested an early check in for your party of 6 to park your car on the premises and pick up the keys to the rooms before you attended the festival. Although I didn’t get to meet you till the early evening - your husband and the rest of the party turned up around midday to pick up the keys. I showed your husband exactly which rooms were booked by you and he had the keys to the rooms. In the meantime I had another guest booked in for the festival who was arriving around 2pm to check in to the most expensive room in the house. I had left a key out for him and he rung to get instructions to check into his room around 2pm. He left his bedroom door open while he was also attending the Wine and Food Festival. Later that day your party came into the house before the guest got back from the Festival - in your drunken state the rest of your guests decided to swap the rooms- the room this guest had booked was an en-suite room with its own lounge area and balcony! Whereas one of the rooms that you were booked in- which you swapped this guest over was a standard Queen Room with a shared bathroom! Your husband who had picked up the keys earlier in the day was well and truly aware of the rooms you had booked. When you all arrived back at the B & B at your highly intoxicated state you swapped the rooms. It was simply an opportunist and calculating behaviour by your party of 6 guests. When I arrived back at the property I was shocked to see your party in the room that my Brazilian Guest had booked. You were all sitting in the lounge area of his room already drunk but having more wine and beers. I spoke to you all that this wasn’t the room you had booked etc but a male member of your party who was highly intoxicated and obnoxious said to me that because the guest was a foreigner and spoke limited English, would not know the difference as to what he booked!! I found this comment by your drunk friend highly insensitive, racist and inappropriate. I tried to discuss this with you all but you all ganged up on me and tried to be bullying and intimidating! Then when I told you that you would be liable to pay the price difference for the rooms - you offered to switch back to the original room you had booked- by this time it was 9pm at night - you had already used the room facilities and the bathroom facilities in the bigger room. It was shocking behaviour on your part that you would expect the original guest to check into that room after you had used all the facilities in the room! Your comment about the fact that I was intoxicated etc is absolutely incorrect and untrue. Also the comment that I was discussing your behaviour with my other guests and friends, again totally untrue. After the shocking discussions and behaviour from your party - I rung up booking.com to put a complaint of Guest Misconduct on that night by yourselves - and this would have been the conversation the rest of your drunken friends were eavesdropping on! I had no other guests around me at the time. I had the option to ask you all to vacate the premises on the night and if you refused to go so - I was advised that I could call the Police but I chose not to do so and let you spend the night on the property. I was more concerned about your party’s drunken state and if you drove off in that state - it may have caused an accident to some innocent party on the road. One of my guest’s who was asleep in one of the room’s next to you was also awakened by your party’s drunken, loud and obnoxious behaviour. You also mentioned that you were a B & B owner in Nelson - in light of that comment it’s quite disappointing that your group of guests that you booked to stay with us would behave in such manner. It was a relief in the morning when you all left as my existing guests were quite appalled by your behaviour from the previous night! It’s interesting how you have turned it all around to myself as the host - if you go and read my reviews around what you have posted to taint by image- my reputation as a host is contrary to what you are trying to say. At the end of the day there is always two sides to a story and if you feel you had such a bad experience staying at our B & B than one also needs to think about their own behaviours that contributed to it. As a host it is quite disappointing that I had to accomodate local New Zealander’s that would behave in such a racist and demeaning way towards my foreign guest and think that it was justified because he spoke limited English! I’m glad that your party at least had the decency and common sense to leave without joining my other guests for breakfast after your behaviour the previous night! I did have breakfast prepared for you all but the mere fact that you all chose not to have it speaks volumes about the guilt that was associated with the previous night’s behaviour, hence I rest my case!

Wow!
What an awesome respite from traveling. Our hostess and fellow guests made for great conversation and a convivial atmosphere.
Our two room suite with en suite bath was luxurious. The furnishings were a combination of period pieces to age of house and more modern pieces.
The full English breakfast was a super way to be ready for busy days. Free well sprung bikes to use saved us money to buy wine!
Location and free parking created a good launching spot for accessing the winery Golden Mile.
If we are back in Renwick we’ll definitely return!

We stayed here for one night with two other couples. The house was lovely and our room and bathroom were very clean and had everything we needed. The property was well cared for. Unfortunately our host was disorganised and admitted to being intoxicated when we arrived around 6pm. Our host accidentally gave one of our rooms to another guest, moved us to a different room and then retrospectively demanded that we pay extra for the different room she gave us. The host was rude and argumentative and made us feel uncomfortable. As a result we left early the next day without breakfast. I will not stay here again while this host owns the property.

Our family of 5 stayed in this lovely Bed and Breakfast in the heart of the vineyard area in Renwick. Our host Reshma warmly welcomed us and made sure we were happy with our accomodation, she even surprised my 14 year old son with a birthday cake! The English style hot breakfast was of a generous size and delicious.
The guests can sit in a large beautiful garden , on the verrnandafh or in a lounge room.
It is walking distance to several restaurants and biking distance to most of the vineyards, bikes available to use.
Thank you for a great stay!

We had a great time in Marlborough and stay at Anglesea house which is perfectly located to explore the wineries and with free bikes (with baskets!) Included in the stay, you can get a lot in in an afternoon! Reshma and Jay were very welcoming and friendly hosts and Reshma made sure we were settled in quickly on arrival and our bellies were happy and full ready for the day with a super breakfast she cooked up. Lots of information available at the house and also has the most lovely garden too! We are sad we forgot to take up a few apples pears and lemons they offered! Our room was very spacious, tidy and bed was comfy, so many positives to list, my husband and I have travelled to many places and It was truly our best bed and breakfast experience to date. No need to question it, just book :) and you can book directly on their site!

My husband and I spent several nights in this charming older house. The owners were most accommodating and provided great advice on wineries and the best place to get the local mussels. The breakfasts were massive, more than we could eat including homemade red raspberry jam made the prior day. The gardens on the grounds are beautiful and we sat in the front yard and enjoyed a glass of wine upon our arrival. Our room had a newly remodeled bathroom and one of the most comfortable beds we slept in on our trip.

Lovely Guesthouse with beautiful garden! Stylish and
exquisite furnished rooms and the shared "livingroom" had plenty of amusement: games, large flatscreen tv, DVDs..
Good location, close to vineyards and local restaurants/pub.
Very friendly and welcoming "landlady" who also prepared fabulous breakfast...
