A beautiful wee camping ground. Well maintained and fantastic facilities. Alps2Ocean trail on the doorstep and only 15 minutes from cafes etc. We particularly enjoyed having our own wee bathroom/shower cabin on our spot. Will be definitely recommending to friends and family.

Spacious site with plenty of room per camper place with own shower/toilet cubicle and table with benches. Nice to have some privacy.
At the main road but very quiet at night.
Nice kitchen/communal area with fridges/freezer
Good phone signal.
Friendly reception staff.
Directly at the lake. There is a path going directly opposite along the lake. Ideal for walking and cycling.
We liked it very much.

This was a very expensive stay for a poorly laid out holiday park. We had young children and were at least 50 metres away from the shared bathroom and on the other side of the Park from the kitchen. Very odd as the caravans ( in between) all have kitchens! We also had very noisy neighbours who were placed on a site which was shown as reserve on the ‘map’. It is $25 per adult each night and $12.50 per child. Expensive for an unpowered site with shared facilities some distance away. I would not recommend staying here. Also please note that this camp site is across the main highway from the lake and the road noise can be quite significant at night.

I didn't really want to write a review as I don't want everyone to know this campsite exists. It's awesome. Quiet and private yet bustling and friendly. Huge sites and with personal showers/toilets. Staff are awesome too. Plenty of parking for boats/jet boats.

We camped in our Rv's here for 2 nights over Christmas . The facilities were clean, Jamie very friendly and helpful and pointed out all the best fishing spots. It is central and within easy reach of Twizel and other stops in Otago.

Lovely friendly people running this campground. Great facilities with individual toilet/shower and rubbish. A little noisy by the roadside with trucks going through, but the walks and views made up for it. A great place to relax. We would certainly stay there again as it is not over populated or crowded.

Saw this place in passing en route to Mt Cook. It is on a very straight piece of Highway 83 just opposite Lake Benmore which you have access to (mind you shut the gate). It is literally in the middle of nowhere close to the International Dark Sky Reserve. Consequently you can be treated to some of the best night skies you are ever likely to see, for us it was amazing! The Park is quite special too, each pitch has its own 'en suite' shower and toilet facilities. It boasts all the expected amenities of kitchen cum TV room (the furniture here is a little faded but functional) and laundry. It is towards the upper end of charges for a powered site at $20 per person but for this small amount extra you get some great added value. Being so far from habitation, 7km to Omerama (which itself is small), means the site is very quiet. If I revisit New Zealand this is one place I will definitely make for! Highly recommended!

Lake Benmore on SH 83 just after Omarama-Otematata road junction. On nearing the lake, you will find Lake Benmore Holiday Park on the right. Nice campsite with friendly staff. Further up on reaching Otematata, turn left into Loch Lair Rd and you will see Lake Benmore and the Dam at the end. You can continue to drive on which will bring you up to the dam. If you continue the drive, this will go round Lake Aviemore and eventually arrive at Aviemore Hydro Station.
