Business trip for 1 night stay. Motel looks good on the outside and the rooms are well appointed and tidy. The bed was very, very soft though so far too uncomfortable for me. Also i opted for the 'continental breakfast' for $14 which was a mistake. see pic provided. Not really continental and overpriced. The wifi didn't work for a while but eventually came right. Overall for the price paid compared to other motels i've used it was a pretty average experience.

Clean and comfortable. Stayed two nights as in town for a family gathering. Good location to shop and supermarket. Has all the basics you need. Shower pressure was great. Clean room. Little kitchenette for heating up food. Was a cold weekend and both heaters worked well.

My wife and I stopped here during a South Island tour. We booked a two bedroom suite with spa bath but discovered at 9pm the first night that the spa did not work. We explained this to Robbie, the owner, who seemed to know that there was a problem with the spa and offered us a reduction in what we had paid. Generally everything else was satisfactory apart from a very uncomfortable sofa and one or two lights which did not work and no shelves in the bathroom. The kitchen fittings were comprehensive with a full cooker and plenty of substantial cupboards work surfaces etc. There was a full Sky TV package and free very good wifi. The bed was comfortable and we could hear no traffic at night even though the motel is situated on the busy State Highway 1.

Needed motel early evening, chose this as believed all Asure group motels maintained high standard.. how wrong we were to think this especially at $165 for the night. Person on duty amiable enough the room how ever was far from hospitable. Carpets sticky, work surfaces sticky, table top so sticky my arm stuck to it and took all the dead skin off my arm when I moved it. Certainly one way to exfoliate if some what expensive. Needless to say apart from kettle and toilet only other thing used was bed and that was reluctantly. Did not unpack a thing and did not use facilities to wash, seemed better option not to. An all pervasive odour was everywhere which we could not decide whether stale beer or incontinence. Genuinely our worse experience in New Zealand. Not whinging poms, we are citizens, proud of it but this fell far short of the NZ image.

We managed to nab the very last room on a VERY busy weekend - Dunedin was full to bursting and the last motel room in Dunedin was priced at $380 (we'd stayed at this same place before and paid an average of I think $140 for the night - extortionate pricing inflated due to demand!) So we tried our luck on our way through Milton, no harm in asking right? Best decision ever. Rather than having to drive all the way home we secured a wee room, was very tidy with a comfy bed, just what we needed! The owners were very hospitable, and despite them dealing with a guest's medical emergency at the very same time, they still made time for us AND kept smiling! Fantastic people and we definitely recommend checking them out when you're needing to stay in Dunedin, it's only about 30 minutes away!
