Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

The bed was comfortable which is important. We had an en-suite room and the toilet overflow could do with attending to quieten it down.
It’s a bit dated, like it got a renovation in 1960 and a once-over in 1990
Unfortunately, even the en-suite rooms do not have their own tv. The bar has 5 massive flat screen TVs, but the hotel has one tiny old tube tv in a common room.
The staff were very friendly and nice to deal with.

The restaurant offers good food at good prices and friendly, fast service. Although not an obvious choice, it is a great option for dining in Clyde. This restaurant deserves to be packed like the rest in town.

Having just completed the Otago rail trail on our pushbikes, we spent the last night at this hotel before heading back to Queenstown.

I just love this place, its like being in a piece if history whilst being very comfortable at the same time.

Everything about the decor and building was a delight to experience. The host were excellent and attentive, the breakfast superior and only wish i had known in advance how good this place was as inwould have loved to stay longer.

The rooms are very charming and have great historic atmosphere. The bed was very comfortable. If you love stepping back in time, you will enjoy a night here. The breakfast was very tasty and healthy, great start to the day. The Hosts were the friendliest I have encountered and so well travelled themselves. No T.V. in the room, THANK GOODNESS, it would have ruined it. Everything was charming and pleasant from start to finish. I would recommend here.

Room Tip: Choose the suite. Its worth the extra $40.00. The lounge room makes it worthwhile.

Wow what a great meal for the value. I got the Burger......tasty and couldn't eat all of it. Older pub which suits the old historic Clyde village. Highly recommended for a meal. Best in Clyde so far. We have also had several takeaway pizzas and they are top notch as well.

We were headed out on the Otago Rail Trail, and spent the night near the trailhead in Clyde. This is an old hotel, partially restored. Comfortable, but with no special amenities. The staff was very pleasant. A nice place to start the trip!
