We stayed in Tairua on the Coromandel Peninsula on the first night of our 14 day stay in NZ (its just under a 2 hour drive from Auckland Airport). Tairua proved an excellent base from which to explore Coromandel as its an easy drive to a number of notable tourist attractions. As it was low season we found our hosts Barry and Sue had upgraded us on our arrival at the Blue Water Motel to a larger family suite than we had requested. Our room was very well appointed with 2 separate bedrooms for my wife and I and our teenage son. The room had a nice kitchenette with everything we needed. The room was very clean and serviced daily. Barry and Sue are wonderful hosts. Their standard of cleanliness is a top standard The kitchen sink, shower unit and bathroom was streekless (if there is such a word) and done daily. We stayed 2 nights location excellent and we were very pleaed with our choice.

Amazing hosts - so friendly and the communication is great. They emailed us and asked what time we will be arriving to ensure our rooms were ready and nothing was too much trouble. Great location - very central and the rooms are very clean and tidy with everything you would need for a couple nights stay!

This place was clean and tidy, and the owners Sue and Barry were fabulous, very friendly and helpful. They let you borrow their sea kayak and have a spa pool. Wonderful! I stayed with my 5 yr old and we had all the facilities we needed, and were offered more if need be. Highly recommended this place.

Very nice spot and very central only a very short walk into town, very clean room with a kitchenette. The owners were very friendly and welcoming, free wifi was also a good bonus! Felt like a little beach shack
