Detailed Reviews
We drove from Auckland to Tairua on the second day of our holiday in NZ. We didn’t know what to expect of motels but we were nicely surprised when we found a room that was just the ticket for a short stay. It was very clean and comfortable and had a good range of equipment, plus a table and chairs outside on a balcony. There is a guest laundry which is reasonably priced and well equipped plus a spa pool.
The motel is within a short walk of the town which has a number of places to eat (including a great chippy) an ice-cream shop, bars, general shops, a supermarket and a bakery. There are also some lovely walks to the estuary and the beaches.
The Coromandel is a beautiful part of NZ with lots of interesting places to visit. Wish we could have stayed longer.
The owners of the motel were great hosts and provided lots of helpful information about our onward journey and local attractions.

At first glance I wasn’t so sure - The room is a chalet - so close to the road but it wasn’t a problem!
It was very comfortable, lovely bed & very, very clean. The owners obviously take pride in their accommodation.
Warm welcome as well.

Thank you Barry for accomodating my last minute phone request for a room. Wasn't too sure what to expect once we arrived but it was perfect and situated so close to everything. You were the perfect host by showing us the tourist spots and advice on where to go. We will definitely be back. Cheers, Ferlin

I am traveling around the North Island of New Zealand with 3 mates. We stumbled across the Blue Water Motel after a day of driving and sight seeing.
The owners are super friendly and very hospitable. The location is perfect being walking distance from the high street. There are a number of walks and beaches in close proximity also.
The rooms are modern, clean and very well appointed. There is a proper shower for those of you like me who don’t like bath showers. Good selection of channels on TV so you can unwind before going to bed.
Thanks for a great stay.

Easy access to all the local sites.
Clean well equipped room with comfortable bed.
Very friendly owner with lots of good local advice. Including for hot water beach.
Good value, would be perfect with a/c. Room fan was noisy.
The town is quite low key but has all you need, including fuel, a small supermarket and restaraunts.
A great base from which to explore.

We were so happy with this accommodation! From the moment we arrived we were made so welcome by the manager Barry who couldn't have been more helpful - his knowledge of the area was extensive. Our room was very comfortable, generously furnished including a small kitchenette and from our verandah we had views over the bay. We enjoyed our walk to the summit of Mt Paku which was a bit of an effort for a couple of relatively unfit 60 year olds but well worth it for the outstanding 360° views of Tairua. This motel is in a great position just a short walk over the bridge to town. Thanks again for a delightful stay Barry and Sue.

A friend who has moved to Tairua recommended the Blue Water and we're so glad they did. A friendly welcome, lovely chalet with views and outside space to chill out and all within easy walk of restaurants etc. Paul even provided spades for our trip to Hot Water beach.
There's so much to do in the area and we loved it so much we stayed an extra night. So much better than the bigger impersonal motels we've stayed in in other towns.

Thanks heaps for staying with us and for taking the time to leave us a review. So pleased that enjoyed The Coromandel and all that it has to offer. Your friends certainly picked a nice place to relocate to - we've been in Tairua 10 years now and it truly feels like paradise. cheers, Paul & Natasha

I stayed here for 2 nights in December. The owner in very helpful and knowledgeable about what to do / where to go.
The room was clean, had a kitchen and a small deck. There is an opportunity to do laundry at a cost of $4 for the washing machine (with free powder and fabric softener) and then you can then either hang them up on the washing line to dry for free or use the dryer for $5.
There is a free-to-use hot tub and free- to-use kayaks available plus spades to use at Hot Water beach, again, no charge.
There is no Sky TV, only Freeview but the free WiFi is very fast and there is no data limit.
Overall, a very good place to stay - I would definitely go back if in the area again.

Hi Paulina
Sorry can't manage that one for you. If you look on our website you can see all our rooms that are available. The family unit that is available for the first two of those dates is priced for minimum of four people, after that we have a studio available.
Kind regards
Barry and Sue
