Detailed Reviews
We stayed in Tahi at Tina’s place. It was a lovely little apartment a short walk from the beach. Nice little touches and very clean and tidy. We loved going to Pour House Brewery and did the kayak tour. A nice early morning yoga session all made for a lovely relaxed stay in Hahei.
A meal at The Church Bistro (which is almost opposite Tahi) was delicious and a lovely setting.
Thank you Tina for making us feel so welcome.

A handy apartment not far from cafes and the beach. Owner very pleasant, provided spades for Hot Water Beach. Effectively a motel, rather than a B&B, with cafes comfortably within walking distance. No pressure to be out during the day, and has a pleasant verandah to sit and relax on. Comfortable bed. A pleasant 2 night stay.

Hahei is always good. Just 2 hours from south Auckland. Hahei Getaway is close to the town centre and to the beach. Clean, tidy and comfortable rooms. Definitely will go back. We enjoyed our short stay and we recommend it.

Accommodation was a single self contained unit with ensuite, situated near the owners' residence. The room was tastefully appointed with coffee & tea making facilities. A very comfortable bed, elegant ensuite (both units have ensuites), beautiful surroundings and kind and caring hosts made for a wonderful stay. Highly recommended!

We stayed for a night to explore the gorgeous area. This is a great find. Simple accommodations but everything you need is there. The hosts go out of their way to offer tips and even provide a spade if you wish to partake in hot water beach hole digging.

The place was absolutely spot on. Very easy to locate and cozy. The host Adair is a very warm person. If you're looking for a place to stay in Hahei, look no further. It's situated close to the Hahei beach and to the walk down to the coromandel coast.

The room was comfortable, and the hosts pleasant. The location was fantastic, just five minutes walk from the lovely and safe Hahei beach.
However, the accommodation had some shortcomings that detracted from it. In particular, there was no air conditioning, and the overhead fan was so noisy that it kept my wife awake most of the night.
In addition, I was disappointed that we had to go outside to access our private bathroom - I had assumed that it would be en-suite as in all our other accommodations.

We thoroughly enjoyed Hahei as a town and the Hahei Getaway as a place to stay. Adair and Ric were very friendly hosts but gave you space and privacy. Breakfast is not provided, but that's fine as there are cafes and a convenience store, along with kettle, toaster and microwave in your room. The setting is lovely, with a verandah onto the lawn and the building design gives you enough privacy from the owners and vice versa. Everything was very comfortable and clean. Only slight oddity was accessing the 'private' bathroom off the balcony, but it wasn't an issue. We would definitely come back here.
