Leave the city behind and stay on the beachfront in Hahei - regularly voted one of the best beaches in The Coromandel and New Zealand. There's plenty of adventure with Cathedral Cove and Te Whanganui A Hei Marine Reserve on our doorstep. With over 7 hectares of award-winning grounds there’s space for everyone to find a pathway to the beach. The Seaview Villas look directly over Hahei Beach with ever-changing views of the Mercury Bay Islands from sunrise to sunset. The Beachfront Bachs are ideal for friends and family - stay together or book neighboring baches so everyone can have their space. The nostalgic cabins are great value for family getaways, all less than a minute walk to Hahei Beach! We have Allpress barista-made coffee available onsite every day. From November to Easter weekend, the onsite outdoor bar, gourmet burgers and woodfired pizzas are open on weekends and additional hours in peak summer times - check on our social media pages for the opening hours. The hot tubs on the dunes are always a favourite, check fees and availability to book your spot when you get here. The Resort is walking distance to Cathedral Cove, so put the car keys away and avoid the parking hassle. The Hahei Village with a general store, craft brewery, and cafes is a short stroll. Hot Water Beach is 10 minutes drive. Come and relax on the beachfront with friends and family - the pristine Coromandel coast and marine reserve are the ultimate natural playground.

Hahei Beach Resort is celebrated for its immaculate cleanliness and spacious rooms boasting convenient amenities like kitchens and laundry facilities. Nestled right on the beachfront, the resort's location is a major draw, offering easy access to local attractions, though the offerings for teens may fall short. Guests enjoy the resort's lively atmosphere, complete with live music, but some suggest improvements in noise management.
While the service generally receives positive remarks for being professional and friendly, experiences of inconsistency have been noted. Travelers appreciate the variety of accommodations, yet some feel the resort's pricing is steep, especially given the desire for additional amenities and stronger service.

Well-run campsite without being militant. We went at busiest time of year. We were impressed that the showers were free (no tokens required), and that we were allowed to park two cars or whatever, on our site. The sites were generously sized which was good as the camp was at max capacity. Great location - right on beach. Great bar area/food options, shop etc.
What was missing for us was a games room or central location where the teens could meet up and hang out. And if you don't have a powered site, good luck with the kitchen—there is only one kitchen, which is very small for the number of people. We could also use more showers.
Will probably go back at a quieter time, but choose a powered site and take everything but kitchen sink - which others seem to do :)

We had a two night stay at one of the garden terrace villas. The facilities provided were excellent, very clean and tidy. Although our stay was in May we enjoyed strolling along the beach, watching the waves crashing in. We would definitely book here again when we next visit New Zealand.

We had booked for one night but we liked it so much that we changed our plans and booked a second night to stay! Such a relaxing and stunning location, the beach is so close to the camping sites, the amenities are clean, the outdoor bbqs great, fridge and freezer space available, the kitchen well equipped with washing and drying thins (detergent, tea towels) - though no pots or pans or knives/cutlery/ cooking utensils —> need to bring your own, staff very friendly and helpful, and there are enough camping spots far enough away from the children’s play area if you want some quiet. The hot tub is good value for money for what you get. Plus the Cathedral Cove is so near by car. We would definitely come back, hopefully soon!

I suppose it depends on what you book. While the villas may be good value comparatively, the campsites were the most expensive we have encountered by far in a month camping all over the north island. $99 for a beach front down to $69 for a patch of uneven grass near the back of the property. The location is convenient- close to Hahei Beach and other attractions and the rest rooms were fine and they do provide a dump point and a bar/restaurant although we visited the local brewery instead. Overall it’s overpriced as there is no competition nearby.

We had a great time at the Hahei beach resort, which exceeded our expectations. Toilets and other common areas were always looking as if someone just cleaned it, which was a great relief. We were only a few steps from a gorgeous beach but far enough from the main area of the resort which felt a bit crowded and noisy for us. We were also a couple of blocks away from a mini centre with a dairy and some take away food shops. We tried the bar, the pizza and burgers and we always had a great service from happy and genuinely smiley staff members. Hahei is just a wonderful place to relax and perfect to go to Cathedral Cove or to drive to nearby places. We recommend to rent a Kayak to Cathedral Cove in the town centre and go in the morning, it’s an amazing experience. We’ll definitely be back! Thanks!

Room Tip:If you have kids stay close to the main areas, if you don’t, stay away. In summer can get noisy.

I didn't have a good sense of this place until we arrived. It's a multi-use camping property with various types of properties (from camping spots where people pitch tents, to campervan hookups, to little and bigger cabins). We were in a large cabin and while aesthetically it looked like it hadn't been updated in 40 years, everything worked and it was clean. We were concerned about potential noise from all the families camping in close proximity to each other, but it was very family-friendly and no one was loud. It's easy to cross over some paths through dunes to get to the beautiful, expansive beach, where you can walk as long as you like. They did have grill facilities a hot tub you could reserve (kids can't use it though). There is a central restaurant / grill area that is really pretty - lots of nice tables with umbrellas to eat, drink and play cards. It was a bit on the pricey side, but food was pretty good. We wished the cabin we were in had some additional things available that we hadn't brought, like shampoo. Parking was easy and free. Overall - friendly vibe, large selection of amenities and types of accommodation, and a safe place to relax. We'd stay here again.

We stayed at one of the beachside campgrounds, an absolutely beautiful campsite with a view of the beach from our campervan! My only negative was that there was a lack of showers on that side of the campground so you often had line ups for the small number of showers. Otherwise it was a fantastic visit, bathrooms were well maintained and cleaned and sites were spacious with a picnic table and place to hang your wet clothes.

We went caravaning to this place for the first time. Biggest holiday park we've been to, so far. The office lady was so friendly, so informative. The amenities are so good. Our caravaning site was huge, didn't feel like we were cramped up with our neighbours. Easy beach access. Hot water showers, clean bathrooms. There's a in-house bar/restaurant at the resort itself. How cool! We were also able to hire a shovel to go to the nearby hot water beach for $5bucks. Security patrols cruise around just to make sure everyone's safe. Kids had a blast. Located in a prime spot. Loved this place, will definitely come back next summer.

I came with my mum, and we stayed in the Beach Hut cabin, and it was nothing short of AMAZING! It was everything we needed and more. We even called up to say we wouldn't be arriving till later in the evening, and when we did, the heater was on in our cabin, and a hot tub was booked for us. The level of detail the team goes to is fantastic. The room was clean, modern design and had everything we needed. It even came with two towels which were perfect for both having one for the hot tub and another for the shower. The cabin is also perfectly positioned to get the sun throughout the day. The room has a kettle, toaster, fridge and cutlery, plates, cups and mugs. Everything had been thought of! I would highly recommend staying here and in this cabin! It is also very affordable and the perfect way to escape and have a well-deserved holiday.

Spent 3 nights at the campsite recently. We had an amazing time. However, the shower and ablution facilities leave you a little discouraged to return.
A suggestion to the team would be to increase the frequency of cleaning of the ablutions and showers, especially when the campsite is full.
Upgrade of the facilities would be a welcomed addition to the campsite facilities.
The restaurant and pub section is great and provides a welcome change from the camp setup without having to leave the campsite.
Staff are also wonderful.

Greetings, Thanks for your feedback and can I assure you we clean the facilities three times per day with an additional night check by security. The new ablutions block installed last year does take a hammering with the volume of guests onsite and we are in the planning for an upgrade to the main block. Thanks also for the feedback on our food and beverage, agree a great place to relax at the end of the day. Kindest regards, Grant and The Hahei Resort Crew

I didn't have a boat this time, but pretty sure there is. No concrete ramp, only beach launching. A lovely area & we used to find it excellent for diving.
There are more places to choose from in the Hahei area.
