We were looking, in these days of corona, for a relatively secluded place to stay, where we would come in as little close contact with other vacationers (especially unvaccinated children) and service people as possible. We assumed a place claiming to be a romantic couples' resort, would be the answer. Being Israeli and having stayed in B&Bs (AKA Zimmers) here and abroad, we had very low expectations to begin with, and I would not have written a review at all if not for the fact that the masseuse I booked was not vaccinated and wore a non-approved, threadbare, homemade mask. Unfortunately I only figured this out in the last 5min. of the hour's session. Meaning I was enclosed for an hour in a tiny room with an unvaccinated person wearing a gauze like mask leaning over me... Also, though I really can't be sure, but from a passing remark our host made, I now suspect that he and his family (who live on the premises) aren't vaccinated either. I realize now that I should have asked for a vaccinated masseuse, but who does that?!? I find I am so dismayed and hurt by this lack of consideration, regard, care, and love for a fellow human being, that I decided to write this review, as a warning to others, even though, as I said, our expectations were low to begin with. -The layout of the so-called "suite" was strange to the point of rendering it uncomfortable - the kitchen sink and fridge (which hummed/buzzed all night) were in the bedroom. -The bed was smaller than queen size and was a Murphy bed, meaning it's a fold down bed, so it creaked every time one of us moved (we're both of average weight). The old mattress sank towards the middle, so we spent the 2 nights we slept there rolling. -The sheets, a cheap cotton blend, were rough to the touch. -The white robes provided, were an unappealing dishwater grey (easily fixed by adding a few drops of bluing the wash, btw). -The jacuzzi (also in the bedroom) sprouted little black things when we turned on the water jets, which the host, to give him credit, did warn us about, saying this was residue from their signature Merlot Bath concoction (150₪ extra charge), but assured us "not to worry as they clean the pipes often". Still, it's not at all nice to have little black things in your bath with you. -There was no hand soap, when we asked for some, we were told to use the little bottles of l'occitane shower gel supplied. How difficult (or expensive) can it be to provide proper hand soap during a pandemic? I can go on, about the added cost, depressingly meager breakfast, that we had to wait till 9:30am for (asked for an early breakfast, so we could venture out early, but were told it was impossible). And though there is really nowhere nearby to get breakfast on a weekend, had we known how bad the breakfast would be, we'd have driven to a nearby village, but by the time the breakfast arrived we were so hungry we just eat what was edible. In the living room the TV screen was mounted too high and the sofa was too low, making it impossible to watch the screen comfortably from the couch. The 2 "private" verandas, weren't - one was a walkthrough to another suite, and the other veranda had a metal latticed partition which gave ZERO privacy from the 3rd suite, to the extent that we had to draw down the blinds so as not to hear the people on the veranda of the neighboring suite. In short we found nothing "indulging, perfect, intimate, majestic, pampering, embracing, romantic or heart fluttering" as stated in the "spa's" description and reviews. As for the "many treats" also stated in same description, in case you're wondering, we think this refers to the 1 x 375ml bottle of wine, 1 x small bag of crisps, 1 x small bag of bamba, a few teeny refill jars of stale cookies and unidentified candy, but maybe we misunderstood. As I said, we had low expectations to begin with, and I wouldn't have written at all were it not for the unvaccinated masseuse. And yes, the vista and the sunsets from the "suite" are indeed spectacular.

Hi Julie, Sorry you felt this way and thank you for putting an effort in writing what dismays you. Let me start by saying that the owners (me and my husband, my parents who live in the property) are ALL VACCINATED. The very experienced therapists working here, work with us for many years. As is common in spas and hotels and checked by us (also legally)- some are vaccinated and some aren't but take tests 2-3 times a week. We ask them to be prepared with a test prior to the treatments and have a mask on at all times which your masseuse did. Putting this effort, being vaccinated ourselves (whole family) makes us lack regard and love for fellow human beings? That you need to warn other people? I believe that most of your experience was due to lack of basic communication and simple question asking. If you had asked us or your masseuse regarding being tested- perhaps you would have appreciated her professionalism. All the information was given to your husband by phone 3 weeks prior to your arrival, including property and suites layout, stairs, balconies and privacy in each suite. I assume that if we had talked to YOU we would have recommended a different suite or perhaps some place else as we did a few times- based on your expectations and needs. As was told to your husband and to everyone who makes a reservation with us- All three suites have completely separate entrances. We ALWAYS mention that in the specific standard suite you've ordered there are 2 balconies that are NOT private but there are NO shared sitting areas. All FULLY detailed, in order to lower expectations regarding privacy outside the suite in your particular suite. Everything is shown in detail on our website- photos, video, explanation by phone… What more can be asked of us? Breakfast is not included in order for our guests to have the choice if they want to add one or not and to keep the cost of our zimmer- affordable and great value for money as so many other guests have written. We prefer our guests to choose if they want breakfast or more wine, massages, wine bath… Few more facts for clarification: We are proud of giving very high quality products even compared to zimmers/ hotels double our price. L'occitane which we gladly gave you extra toiletries when you've requested a bar of soap- is a very well known exclusive brand worldwide. I don’t see the difference between a bar of soap and a new, personal, concentrated small bottle of l'occitane soap during a pandemic. As for the wine mentioned, most people appreciate the wine quality they receive and not the size of the bottle. I'm sorry the bed wasn’t comfortable for you. We frequently get rave reviews from our guests on the orthopedic mattress we supply and pillows (and re-checked by us today as well). We are very happy with the Laundromat we work with and the whiteness of towels and robes. We will check them all again to make sure if change is needed. p.s- We provide our guests high quality bedding same as luxury hotels and zimmers. ALL our guests repeatedly tell us how clean the place is and appreciate the many hours we spend cleaning and sterilizing the suites. It takes almost two hours to prepare a fresh, rich, homemade breakfast which is why 09:30 is the earliest we can offer our guests on Saturdays when my elderly father (who received a rude welcome remark) prepares it as he has done for the satisfaction of SO many, for many years. I believe that most of your experience could have been spared by simple, human conversation, if you personally had made the reservation, seen the photos/videos whether it's to your liking, and received the information which is always given openly by phone. Most of your complaints could have been dealt with and solved on the spot, as we asked if you need anything during your stay. Instead- you choose to shame us on the net, wrongly assuming and writing we are not vaccinated and that our therapists are a danger to society. As always we will learn and assimilate the things you mentioned and try to better ourselves so that our guests will continue to enjoy what we have to offer. We continue the personal contact with our guests which we believe is SO important, especially in times of pandemic.

So peaceful, perfect experience!!! The owner thought of everything!!! To the smallest details!!! Couldn’t ask for more!!! Very very clean! They make their own bath wine to use in the jacuzzi that’s in the room… no words to match that experience… the smell.. the feeling on your skin… haaaa… And the View…. Heaven! Must go back again for the massage!!!!!!!!!

Yama spa is by far one of the best stays I have ever experienced. The hospitality was amazing, the views were incredible and most importantly- the room was luxarious! The room was fully equipped had all the small necessities (and more!) so we felt right at home. Would definitely recommend!!
