As the title suggests, we really enjoyed everything about our stay here. From the extremely friendly, warm welcome and the decor to the beautiful, spacious, airy room and loo with a view. Breakfast in the courtyard was simple but fantastic. Freshly squeezed orange juice a highlight. Set in the back streets of the old town, so close to everything and perfect for an early morning or evening stroll round the narrow pedestrianised streets. Great instructions on finding the car park which was very reasonably priced (15 euros per night) . If you like bland chain hotels, this is not for you, but otherwise, why stay anywhere else?! We hope to be back soon.
Great spacious room With what you need, very helpful and polite staff. Lots of art and cosy music in the lobby. A small garden that for sure is really nice in the summer! continental breakfast with fresh orange juice and very tasteful coffee was included. I highly recommend this hotel and for sure will be back :) Best rgds Inger-Helén
Proper old world hospitality. We arrived in Spain to lashing rain! Art Boutique Hotel Chamarel lit fires, served drinks and allowed us to enjoy a thoroughly horrible couple of days with great service. Far from the anonymous modern hotel we have come to expect, I cannot wait to revisit in the summer sunshine. Super location as well.
Everything at this hotel is perfect. Located in the historic old town, next to the castle. 3 minutes walk to many restaurants and walking distance to the marina and the beach. To our surprise our room was a suite: wow! Huge room with antique furnishings but a very modern bathroom with a sunken tub. The staff are all very friendly and helpful. Special shout out to Julio who greeted us upon arrival and gave us helpful tips throughout our very short stay. Highly recommended.
Quirky decor reminiscent of Catalan/French style with wrought iron, antique furniture, tiled floors. Lovely internal courtyard, wonderful team of staff - nothing too much trouble. Very comfortable bed, everywhere spotlessly clean, good quality breakfasts though basic continental. Excellent position for town with huge choice of cafes/restaurants. We would have preferred more choice for breakfasts and been happy to pay any supplement but didn't know this was an option. We found our superior double room a bit small for a week's stay and should have chosen a larger bedroom with teamaking facility.
A delightful hotel, which manages to combine history and aesthetics with comfort and personal service. Central for all Denia's sights and if you choose carefully, the rooms are spacious and quiet. Covid regulations were adhered to and all areas were extremely clean. Parking spaces are limited, but reasonably priced and well worth reserving, in advance. Our special requests were honoured and communication with the hotel, pre-visit, was excellent. We appreciated the attention of all members of staff and thank Julio and Pilar, in particular, for all their help with locating vegetarian friendly restaurants. This has probably become our 'bolt hole' on the coast and we shall certainly be returning when we need a little pampering!
This is a truly wonderful hotel. It is like stepping back in time, packed with ‘fun de siécle’ antiques, quirky art and cabinets packed with oriental treasures. The central Riad-style courtyard is a delight. But the best thing about it is the duo of wonderful stars on the front desk, Julio & Jeannie. They could not do enough for us.
We had a wonderful family stay in this quaint and stunning hotel. The family room was large and beautifully decorated. The breakfasts were simple but lovely. The owner (I can´t remember his name) was lovely and very nice to our children. I would highly recommend and I look forward to returning.
I have stayed at this hotel previously and it is a beautiful hotel... we booked to stay in March 2020 again but obviously because of the virus the hotel cancelled our stay they promised a refund we are now in October and still have not had our money back
We've stayed at the Hotel Chamarel several times. For my taste, it's by far the best place to stay in Denia. It's in a 19th century traditional home built by a (wealthy) local family, around a central patio. Full of antique furniture and lovely (modern) artwork. The rooms are all different of course, but all are large and comfortable. It's perfectly situated in the centre of the old town, on a quiet pedestrian street, yet just a few minutes' walk from the restaurants and shops. Couple of points. Of course there is no lift (hope there never will be!) so not adapted for anyone who is handicapped. It's about 1.5km from the beach, which personally I find an advantage as it's also quite a pleasant walk through the town. However, it's not a "beach hotel" so if that's what you're looking for this is probably not the right place. The staff are all super helpful and friendly.…
