Great room, great price, close to everything. The Dial restaurant is right of the lobby. Praliné French Patisserie is right next door, great coffee and pastries! Toscanini's Ice Cream is right next door. Blue Owl Rooftop Bar is on 5th floor.
If you are visiting Kendall Square, Central Square or anywhere in that vicinity, there is literally no better location than 907 Main, which right at the intersection of Main and Massachusetts thoroughfares in between the two squares. The check-in and check-out experience could not be more seamless - I used my phone to get into the building and room and didn't need to interact with anyone. I expected the room to be a shoebox, but it was surprisingly spacious even with a king size bed. Sonder is thoughtful about the layout, amenities and furniture in the room to maximize utility and space. You have to know what you're getting into (relatively small room and no front desk if you need anything), but if you're OK with it, the value for money is fantastic. Would definitely stay again.
This hotel has no reception. It sent me an email with access code to everything. I got to my room and the code does not work. I called their help line, it takes 10 minutes to get an answer. She gave me a new code, I got in the room and it has the worst air fresher smell, very strong chemical fragrance that gave me an instant headache. I called again, asking to switch the room, I was told no availability. I asked for a refund so I can go to another hotel and first was told no refund and then told will check with the manager and call me back. Now two hours later, no call back. I am stuck in this horrible smell room!
I stayed in the Penthouse (#501) @ Sonder 907. The good: It's a beautiful space and I'd stay there again. Very nice common areas to have guests over, and beautiful textiles. Also a great balcony! The not-so-good: There are quite a few practical issues that I hope Sonder will clear up in the next few years. 1. Buggy Scheduling: I scheduled a cleaning on the Sonder app. On the appointed day I started a chat (on the app) asking exactly what time it would be. The agent first A) Couldn't find my reservation (until they restarted their system) then B) Found it, and tried to check with housekeeping about the time-- all this had already taken 20 minutes then C) Found that housekeeping did not have me on the schedule and offered me a time the next day, which didn't work for me and D) After I protested, finally got housekeeping to "squeeze" me onto the schedule. Had I not called I guess they wouldn't have come. Not impressive. 2. Design Flaws. The apartment is beautiful. But there are various issues with the fixtures/plumbing in the Penthouse. It felt that the designers took front seat in the fixtures and sometimes forgot to evaluate their functionality. First, the faucet in the bar area in the living room can't make cold water! It has a visually cool electronic feature where it shows you (via a light) what temperature it is. But it gradually goes from lukewarm to extremely hot. There's no way to change this. I had the Sonder maintenance come up to check but he just confirmed it was a problem with the fixture. Second, the toggle between the overhead and handheld shower in the master bathroom is broken. So, you had to take a shower from two directions at the same time, without full water pressure. The maintenance said a new diverter had been ordered. Third, there is a bar behind the master bathroom such that if you raise the toilet seat, it won't stay up! Very funny flaw (but a practical problem for men using the bathroom). Again, maintenance said this was just a "design flaw." Third, the water pressure in the guest bedroom was too low. But maintenance came up to fix that (by unclogging the shower), which was great! Fifth (and a minor one), the fancy electronic clock in the master bedroom was fast by about 15 minutes. It was not clear how to fix it, presumably why no one had corrected it before :). I didn't ask Maintenance about this one. Overall: A very nice space, but expect a number of bugs (more than one would hope for, given the price at the Penhouse).…
We stayed because my hausband had to be a week at MIT, the place is in the main square and really close to MIT buildings. Just in between MIT and Harvard. Walking distance from everything. Super clean and with lots of space to put your cloth in. Bathroom was new and came with toweles and everything needed. The staff was very helpfull. Would defenetly stay again.
Staff was helpful and right on everything for a large wedding party! We had some planned room changes to accommodate a “ bridal “ prep suite. The rooms were clean & spacious. Bar staff at the Dial outside were so welcoming & helpful too! It is a fun location right in the middle of a bustling area of the city.
Clara at the front desk was amazing! So helpful and kind. The rooms were very nice and the location was perfect. The rooftop bar was awesome. Roberto was very accommodating to our pre/post wedding festivities. The container bar also was fabulous!
The Boston - Main Street location is very centrally located. Easy access to the Red Line and great food selections in every direction. The staff is welcoming and helpful if you need it, and will leave you alone if you are all set. The property is clean, well appointed and the beds (my 2nd stay) are very comfortable. Only one odd detail - the shower heads are placed at a ridiculous height - over 7 feet. So if don't want to get your head wet while you shower, good luck. I get that they are accommodating various heights but it could definitely be at least 6 inches lower. Water flies all over the place. But overall, it's a great value and I'll be back again. Looking forward to exploring other locations.
Clean, comfortable and conveniently located, Sonder met our needs for our _four day weekend in Cambridge. This was my second stay at 907 Main, and I will always look for a Sonder when traveling now based on my 2 Check in was easy, and there were plenty of restaurants and shopping in the area.
Nice place, been here twice and found the little bigger room to be better. 15-20 minite walk to Sloan MIT and prices are reasonable good with a good discount for weekly stay. Simple, clean and fully self serviced, even for access.
