This hotel is about 20 minutes from the center of Milan and the train station but it is worth the metro ride. Originally built in the 1300s for a noble family's summer hotel and then made into at palace by a Countess in the 1700s, the hotel has maintained many of the original frescos, wooden beams and all of the charm.
In addition, the staff was incredible. Very attentive and responsive. Take an opportunity, have an adventure and try this hotel. They earned the opportunity to serve you.

We took Delia Suite for one night and, once we entered the room, we were literally amazed. Frescoes on the walls and fine wooden ceiling create a unique and charming atmosphere. Delia suite is a large double room finely fournished, fitting two huge tv screens, chairs, sofa, tables, mirrors and carpets everywhere. Last but not least a king size bed fits the room in perfect armony. A spacious and warm bathroom welcomes you for long standing reading session ;-)
What else? The very rich breakfast buffet always and carefully replenished. High attention and courtesy for the guest are Hilton's trademarks.
Villa Torretta is an historical building recovered from ruins and finely restored.
Its proximity to Subway station enables you to be in Milan downtown or elsewhere in a while.
I do recommend this place.
Cheers

This hotel is fantastic for anyone flying into Milan who wants a base camp from which to recover from the long flight and acclimate. We stayed in The Delia Suite and it was epic. The murals on the walls and ceiling made it feel like we had stepped back in time. The suite is tremendously large and makes you feel like royalty. The front desk staff are friendly and the breakfast buffet truly excellent. We enjoyed the juicer and made delicious natural concoctions every day we were there. Prosecco to start the day, fresh pastries and an assortment of great food made the breakfasts unforgettable. The location of the hotel is close to the underground and it was a simple 30-minute journey to arrive at the city center. We did NOT find the mall across the street to be at the same level as the hotel though. The restaurant in the hotel and the room service were the way to go. DO NOT go to the mall for any meals or even to stroll. It is a waste of time and we regret eating there one evening. Enjoy the hotel. It’s historic and unique and special. We were able to get cabs to pick us up and get to the city center and also picked up by tour companies for a day in St. Moritz and The Bernina Express through the Italian and Swiss Alps. Such a great day and to return to Gran Hotel Villa Torretta to rest in The Delia Suite was the perfect combination. The hotel, breakfast restaurant, gourmet upstairs restaurant, room service food and room itself were all excellent. Thank you for a wonderful stay that set the perfect stage for our 2-week tour across Itally. FYI, we flew into Milan and then travelled across and down through Italy on the high-speed Frecciarosa Train. It proved to be the best possible way to travel and the Executive passage was safe, comfortable, luxurious and FAST! Grazi Mille Grand Hotel Villa Torretta Milan Sesto!

I've been in Milan a couple of times in the past and stayed once at an NH and another at the Hilton Milan by milano Centrale station. I have to say that in both cases I had been unimpressed, so this time I decided to take a different approach and book the Villa Torretta for this one night stay for my couple's birthday. Oh boy, this was the BEST decision ever.

First of all, the responsiveness of the staff prior to arrival. As Diamond member I got at automatic upgrade to a superior room, but then I messaged the hotel via the Hilton app asking if there was availability to upgrade to the Spinola room (a special room with 16th century frescoes on the walls and a nice tub that fits 2).

The response came only within a few minutes from Marco saying they would check if it'd be possible to accommodate the request and a couple of hours later got the confirmation that a free upgrade to that room had been processed. (Please note we visited in what is considered low season so these kind of upgrades are typically not possible as these special rooms get booked well in advance).

Upon arrival the room was not ready (previous guests abused their late check out) but we were offered some refreshments while waiting. Also, once the room was ready for us, they sent over a chilled prosecco bottle as an apology. Considering this was a free room upgrade, I was happy to be able to get it at all, even if later, but the staff goes out of their way to ensure one is really taken care of. Both Marco and Luca have been great throughout our short stay.

I've read mixed reviews about the breakfast here but let me tell you it's really good. I am celiac (gluten allergy) and they cater for this as well as other dietary restrictions. In my case a great lemon cake squares and brownies. Juices are freshly squeezed, not that crap concentrare you typically find at other Hilton locations, and they had fresh blood orange juice (we're in season right now) which was heaven! The pastries my husband tried were really good as well, and of course the setting with all the frescoes in the breakfast hall takes you back in time and feel like a Medici or a Borgia.

Location may not be the most convenient if your idea is practicality visiting Milan dowtown area, but the hotel is easily reachabale by metro plus a 10 minute walk, and is next to parco nord, a spacious park with lots of green. It is also halfway to Monza, which we decided to visit that evening. If I had not chosen this hotel I would not have even considered visiting it and what a quaint little town. It's bustling with social life and restaurant options. It seems to bring in people from Milan as well as a hip dining location. The Monza duomo (while smaller in comparison with Milan's) is beautiful!.

I sincerely recommend this hotel if you want to stay in a historic villa and I highly recommend the Spinola room or the Delia suite (which also has frescoes).

My family stayed at the Grand Hotel Villa Torretta in Milan after touring Northern Italy for 15 days by car. We stayed there for two nights before departure back to the U.S. and we were amazed with the Front Desk service and with the overall historical hotel. Both Martina and Francesco helped us out superbly with our questions including our Airport Covid-19 testing requirements. They helped us to arrange for the rapid swab test to be done in our room by the traveling service in the early morning. Thank you!! We were able to use the rest of the day visiting Lake Como with peace of mind.
The hotel is really special because of its history and close proximity to Milan center. The facility is well taken care of and the breakfast was very good with a very attentive wait staff. I rate the overall customer service in the top 5% in all of Hilton. I have been a Hilton Diamond/Gold member for over 20 years and traveled extensively using all Hilton hotel brands. Congratulations to a fantastic staff!!!

Breakfast 5/5
Very welcoming personnel, healthy and tasty food (for me), good pastries (for my husband) , selection of fresh juices

Location 3/5
Not in the countryside (which would fit the atmosphere of the chateau), not nearby the center . Neighbourhood on the way to the metro is dirty and messy . Parking is ok , a lot of spaces. So good place to be by car and not having to go to the city center

Cleaning 2/5
Spider nets literally everywhere together with their masters. 4 spiders were killed . Floor in some places wasn’t cleaned for years.

Customer service 5/5
I posted spider nets on Instagram and they detected our room and sent someone to clean almost instantly and it was late evening. But it’s just too many corners to clean since it’s literally everywhere and it shouldn’t be done over the bed anyway so we kindly rejected. But proper and immediate reaction was appreciated

Sound insulation 4/5
Our room is the furtherst from the elevator and passage, so for us it was very good (5/5), which, I believe is not the case for the rest of the rooms.

The room was very clean when we arrived, but second day the room was poorly cleaned.

Those beds were amazing!!!

WiFi is 5 euro per day, the restaurant was closed and room service was not available so we had to order from Deliveroo…

Breakfast was sub bar and coffee was not great.

But the bed… again… amazing!

We stayed for two nights at Villa Torretta, a nice 'grand' hotel north of Milan. On arrival we entered with our car through the closed gate. Reception at 20.00 was welcoming an recognized our diamond honors states. He mentioned we were upgraded from a junior suite to a normal suite. Our son of 13 joined us and had a spare bed.

The living room is nice and we had the only balcony on the north side of the building. The large bed was excellent, the spare bed for my son was a bit basic and had no duvet as the hotel doesn't have them.

The room was clean and we had nespresso and tea in the room. The mini bar was almost empty but we didn't use that anyway.

So the place is great, the down is breakfast and staff. The breakfast area is nice but there is no music and when there are not many guests feels quite dead. The staff doesn't speak a lot of English even though all guest I saw were speaking English. There is no egg station, the pancakes are placed on a table and left in the cold for whenever you decide to have one. For vegetarians there isn't a lot of choice. The coffee needs improvement, not worthy to be served in a 'grand' Italian hotel.

After coming back from our day in Milan the room was cleaned but all items that we used were not replaced. I would expect a manager to check rooms when they are cleaned. We had 8 conditioners in our bathroom but no soap or shampoo.... No new coffee, no new tea....

So management has work to do to make it a grand experience but that shouldn't be too hard when you are working in such a magnificent building.

Oh, and the metro is not really close to the hotel, that is a good 10-15 minutes’ walk. Just so you know.

We loved our stay here. Due to the location, we booked 4 nights here and two at the Hilton in the city centre.

When struggling to organise transport from the airport to the hotel (from overseas in advance), we contacted the hotel via the “message hotel” function on the Hilton app and Isabelle was incredibly helpful in organising a driver to pick us up from the airport. This was chargeable to the room and we got Hilton points as a result - win! When we checked in Isabelle at the desk was extremely pleasant and we also received a great upgrade as we had diamond status. The hotel staff here were all 5*

Breakfast was delicious - they had a whole table of cake, a table with scrambled egg, small sausages and bacon, fresh juice, many cheeses, yoghurts, Prosecco. The Abdul, the waiter at breakfast, remembered our coffee order.

There was a small gym with weights which was very handy. There was a cycle and a treadmill. It was nice enough for our purposes. There was a water machine but no cups, so we took cups from our room for the water.

The room had a selection of snacks. We had to ask for water each day. The housekeeping was fair. They came regularly to tidy up the bed and change the bins.

We could occasionally hear faint noise from the hallway (other reviews mention too much noise), but probably very quiet in comparison to hotels in central locations.

The room always stayed a good temperature.

The restaurant was almost too good. We didn’t have enough nights to try all the food items from the menu that we wanted. The ice cream dessert and the spaghetti with prawns and passion fruit, the ricciola fillet and the pinsa were our favourites. Giovanni was really pleasant and friendly, gave good wine recommendations.

The bar was well stocked with a good selection of cocktails and other drinks. Ciro on the bar was really knowledgeable and friendly. Appreciated the free crisps!

The location was better than I had imagined. Taxi prices are reasonable (Uber to centre is about 23 euros), the metro station bignami is quite close by. The station called sesto san giovanni is a short taxi away and is handy to get to Como.

On one day we paid $40.00 for a private car each way, another day we paid $18.00 via a taxi. The Metro is walk-able and nearby however the neighbor is not the best and we did not want to take chances at night. Many prostitutes line the street at the back of the hotel as well as others we did not want to interact with. I can suggest three absolutely wonderful restaurants in the area, while not in walking distance two are a short cab ride away; Ristorante San Glicerio 2 if you love fresh seafood and Osteria del Madrigale fresh homemade true Italian pasta and pizzas and the other Morganti 1 Ristorante Enoteca was absolutely out of this world delicious and exceptional service they will come pick you up and bring you back free of charge. Enjoy -and stay away from room 433
