The Fairmont Olympic Hotel garners high marks for its immaculate cleanliness and eco-conscious practices, as well as its blend of historic elegance and contemporary amenities such as the indoor pool and fitness center. While its central location is a hit for accessing Seattle's hotspots, some guests feel that additional fees undercut the value. The rooms receive mixed reviews with cleanliness and amenities being a plus, but noise levels a concern for some. Service is largely commendable, though experiences vary. The hotel's atmosphere strikes a balance between vibrant charm and modern sophistication.

This hotel was feast for the eyes. The rooms, the bars, restaurants, lobby, front desk were all so gorgeous. The amenities, such as in room Keurig coffee machine, robes/slippers, higher end toiletries, fluffy towels, AC, made me feel pampered and comfortable. Room service breakfast was so good, we did it both mornings we were there. Staff at the bar, restaurant (the George), concierge, room service were friendly and very helpful. Check in was smooth and friendly. The light rapid transit was close to the hotel and very convenient for getting to the stadium for our blue jays game!!
On the negative side, we bought the rooms through a third party but were told we had to pay a separate ‘resort fee’ directly to the hotel. The fee was $171.00 US for 4 people 2 days.
I felt that this fee was excessive. Almost everyone uses WIFI these days and I think it should be included in the room fees. In this case, the benefits of the resort fee were overhyped and in a couple cases completely inaccurate. We were told it included ‘in room refreshments’ but not what those were. Turns out that meant tap water in a reusable glass bottle and the coffee maker. I’m from Canada and every hotel I’ve stayed at has a coffee maker included in price of room. The fee was also to access the gym, pool, hot tub which again are usually included in room fee in Canada. Plus pool hot tub were closed most of time we were there. The fee was also to include deals on some entertainment/sightseeing outside the hotel, one of which wasn’t even running anymore. Essentially it seemed the fee was for the wifi and coffee maker at a cost of $40US per day. A little steep for me. I did complain to the front desk and ask that they half the fee, which they did ☺️.
Lastly, the area around the hotel was a bit lacking in services. We did not have a vehicle and relied on being able to walk to services. There didn’t seem to be a liquor, cannabis store or a convenience store within easy walking distance which meant buying snack food and alcohol at the hotel which was a bit pricier and inconvenient.
Overall, though I gave this 4/5 stars because of the beauty, comfort and friendliness of the staff.

Where to begin....the location is perfect. We easily walked to Pike's Market, Starbucks Reserve, the Waterfront. We also shopped at REi and Nordstrom - both flagship stores. In the afternoon we enjoyed a workout on Pelaton equipment, a swim in the indoor pool and jacuzzi followed by a lovely sauna. Dinner at the George was top notch. Great cocktails! I had the scallops and my husband had the cod. Both delicious with 5-star service. The following day we explored the Ballard Locks and Carl English Botanical Gardens. We rented bikes and took the Burke-Gilman Trail along the water. That evening we had room service bring us a dinner of Ceasar salad and hummus plate. We met staff in the hallway several times and were always warmly greeted and welcomed. The bar in the lobby served as a fun spot to meet up with our son and his wife. Our room was beautiful. We upgraded to a junior suite. The bed was so cozy! The room was beautifully furnished. The shower was roomy. The reusable glass water bottles used in the room and wood door key are green friendly touches we appreciated. We took the light rail back to the airport in the morning. This could not have been any more of a relaxing and easy trip.

Very dissatisfied!
Cold room service food, rude attendant for the daily sparking wine (free toast). Misleading daily housekeeping room credit ($10.00 p/d) for not having housekeeping. E.g., if you order room service they automatically charge a $8.00 service fee and 20% gratuity fee. So, these two fees totally overspend the $10.00 per day credit they claim to give you for not having the daily housekeeping.
We've been coming here for ~20 years and this Hotel is definitely getting worse, probably will not stay again.

I've stayed at this property about a dozen times in the past ten years. So much of what made me love the hotel is now gone and the price continues to go up. The staff remain marvelous and the room is clean and comfortable, but subtle changes are moving me to another hotel. The water temperature in both the hot tub and the hotel have clearly been lowered to such an extent that it's hard to get a hot bath. In cold, rainy Seattle that matters to me after a busy day. The spa now plays rap music instead of soothing easy listening. So much for relaxing. There is no place to get a snack after noon since the little coffee shop closes and there is nothing to buy in the vicinity of the hotel so you are stuck with expensive room service or honor bar if you want a cold drink. We spent $12 plus tip and tax for two TINY iced teas at the bar. By contrast, a similar hotel in another city would not take our money for iced tea after a day of sightseeing or even let me leave a tip. The now packed with profit room fridge has no space for a yogurt or piece of cheesecake which was an annual tradition to nibble over a several day visit. The teakettle in our room did not work....appeared to be not plugged in right and I could not reach the cord from behind the massive furniture....so I used my handy immersion heater to make tea just like at the Super 8. And the room service menu dropped multiple favorites, including the fabulous honey, nut and cheese tray (but you can pay a fortune for some Doritos) Shuckers Restaurant no longer has fried chicken and George does not serve the fabulous pancakes that were a mainstay of the hotel. Worst of all, it was our 30th. Five years ago we came back to chocolate dipped strawberries in our room and a sweet note. This year we got a piece of paper we thought was good for "food" but when we presented it, we were told it was just for alcohol. Because of cancer treatment, we don't drink so that was a big nothing special and another disappointment. I'll still be back for Penelope, but some hotels uptown have better food options nearby, hot tubs that are actually hot, refrigerators in the room and offer a better value.

I booked a room to allow my partner suffering from cancer to rest. We were offered early access to the room, which I appreciated but it was a room with 2 separate beds, whereas I had booked a room with a king size bed. I suspect this room type was quite available; given the off-peak period (mid-March).
The reception staff did not take my request seriously and offering a couple 2 separate beds is not correct.
We were given an early access room only because it would have been shameful for a hotel of this standard to let a guest with cancer sleep in the hotel lobby.

It was a poisoned gift that did not meet the customer's request.

Unfortunately stayed at the Fairmont Olympic for my wedding night. I called the front desk a week prior to let them know and to see about the quality of suite. When we arrived to the room we were greeted by a half drank bottle of water in the mini bar and a plug in commercial air cleaner. When we tried to call the front desk to alert them of the situation, the first phone in the living room didn’t work. The street noise was horrendous. Upon check out they attempted to charge us for the water. My wife and I will not recommend staying here to both our friends and clients.

Our experience at the Fairmount was lovely. The room was ready upon arrival, which was a few hours prior to our check in time. We paid for an upgrade and got a corner room on the 9th floor. Highly recommend. The service was friendly and excellent and the room was comfortable was good sized with an extra chair to relax in. The bathroom was well stocked with amenities. The pool area is indoors housed in a sun room off the fitness area. It was nice but given that we were there in the summer we would have enjoyed sitting in the hot tub in an outdoor area. I do know the weather can be very cold in Seattle, so an indoor pool means people can use it year round. The hotel is centrally located, and we walked everywhere we wanted: down to the pier, to the Pike Market, to the local shopping scene and there were many restaurant choices situated near the hotel as well. Though there were homeless in the area, there were none directly in front of the hotel and we felt safe while staying there. The reason I did not give five stars was due to a power outage our last day there. Due to needed electrical maintenance on the hotel there was a several hour outage where we did not have electricity. There was one elevator running. The staff was very helpful around this outage, but it did infringe on our time there as we had no lights or television in our room during this outage of several hours.

This is a great hotel in downtown Seattle. The lobbies are beautiful, the staff is friendly and helpful and the rooms are tastefully decorated. So why not 5 stars? Because they added an annoying $33.00 (plus tax ) extra charge to the bill for each night of my 3 night stay. It purported to cover wifi in the room, gym access, pool access, telephone, bottled water and a few other things. I'm surprised they don't double the charge and say it covers sheets and pillowcases and access to the elevators. Fairmont is hardly the only chain that does this. Maybe some hotel marketing genius could explain why they think this ploy makes sense. I have no problem with hotels making money for the services they provide but why not just roll the cost of these various services into the price as was almost always the case in the past? The problem for the hotels in charging these extra fees is that the consumer feels like they're having "value subtracted" instead of "value added".

A quick getaway from Vancouver, Fairmont Olympic Hotel was a perfect place to stay! The doorman greeted us graciously, and the Front Desk agent was very friendly and helpful. The location is perfect as well with SAM (Seattle Art Museum), Pike Street Market and the Seattle Waterfront being just minutes away, and my favorite Capitol Hill area for dining being only 15 mins walking distance away. The rooms are very well appointed, and the lobby bar is by far my favorite! We ended up talking to a local bartender who happened to be sitting beside us, who told us this bar was one of his favorite bars with fantastic cocktails ;)

The servers in the George for breakfast was very efficient and friendly... loved the Dungeness Crab Toast! The only comment I may make is the Greek Yoghurt Parfait would do better with Fruits instead of coulis since the granola was just sprinkled on top with coulis, I felt like I was just eating the plain Greek yoghurt but that's just my personal opinion.

Since we stayed on Sunday for 2 nights, we were unable to dine at our favorite Shuckers but that will be for our next stay.

As for the Lobby Concierge, Sayaka & her team are very professional, knowledgeable and friendly. Thank you for your assistance!

We cannot wait to return and stay at this iconic hotel and discover more of Seattle area!
