The location of this hotel is perfect for both business travelers and tourists. Pike Place Market is literally just a couple of minutes away on foot, and if you need to order an Uber, there are plenty available. There’s also a bus stop right across the street and a train station just two blocks away.
When I arrived, I noticed some issues with the cleanliness of my room. However, the front desk staff were incredibly friendly and helpful, resolving the issues promptly. When I encountered noisy neighbors, they went above and beyond by offering me a bigger room in a quieter part of the hotel. Despite my initial negative impression, the staff’s proactive and positive attitude completely turned things around for me.
Regarding the rooms, the smaller ones feel a bit claustrophobic. If your budget allows, I’d definitely recommend upgrading to a bigger room. The larger rooms also feature better - walk-in - showers with a glass wall, as opposed to a tub with curtains (which I’m not a fan of). The design choices throughout the hotel may appeal to some guests more than others. Personally, I lean toward a more conservative style and would change things like the sinks, which look fine but aren’t very functional (water tends to spill around them).
That said, I really enjoyed the larger room I was offered. Being on my third week of travel, I appreciate every bit of comfort I can get, and the spacious room, combined with the excellent service, made a huge difference in how I felt during my stay.
A special thank you to Kevin — I truly appreciate your help!

We were arriving sans car from the ferry and leaving the next day via the light rail to the airport, so we picked the Alexis primarily because it's perfectly located between the two. So if you find yourself in this particular quandry, the Alexis is the perfect solution, but even if you're just looking for a good centrally located option within walking distance of most everything you are likely to want to visit (Pioneer Square, the market, SAM, the waterfront, and Capitol Hill and Seattle Center if you're up for slightly more extensive trekking) I don't think you'll find a better geographic location than this. Much to our delight, the hotel itself was far better than we could've imagined. Every employee we interacted with was charming and helpful, especially Andrew at the front desk who gave us a complimentary upgrade and late check out. The room itself was one of the nicest overall we have had the pleasure of staying in: truly spacious with high ceilings and all the decor hit exactly the right note between stylish and comfortable. Ditto the hotel itself. Handmade, locally produced art is everywhere creating a charming, engaging aesthetic experience that never feels soullessly corporate. And considering all of this, the cost of the room, less than $200 before taxes and fees, was borderline unbelievable. We may have benefitted from an unforeseeable dip in occupancy, so your experience may vary, but top to bottom one of the best hotel experiences we've had.

Good location for us and nice spacious room. Very comfortable beds and pillows. Found comforter too hot and staff said no blankets available but when we checked out told they did have blankets! Safe a bit high for a small person . Nice bathroom amenities. Fitness rooms small and no lighter weights for women. Nice art collection. We would use this hotel again - it was a god base for a two night stay and our room was very quiet. The resort amenities charge is ridiculous for two bottles of water - why not just include it in the rate.

Where to start? They let us check in early which was a godsend since my friend had just had eye surgery and needed to lay down and sleep. The entire staff were courteous and friendly, the rooms spotless and well stocked. I don’t usually sleep well when away from home but I slept like a worn out toddler all night. (We all know babies DON’T sleep through the night). If I could have brought the bed home I would have! it was like sleeping on a cloud. A dense and fluffy cloud, you know a Seattle cloud. Not one of those wispy little southwest desert clouds. For being on First Street in the heart of Seattle the room was very quiet and peaceful. Special thanks to Dascha and Khiana at the front desk. I will always remember their banter. Their hospitality was top notch and I felt like we were regretfully leaving behind friends when we checked out. The gentleman who valet parked our car was so helpful and friendl as was the housekeeper we had met. Parking is always a struggle downtown so it was nice to know my car was safely tucked away until we were ready to head home. Thank you so much for everything! You cannot go wrong Staying with this wonderful group taking care of you.

We stayed 3 nights in September (Friday to Monday) and overall had a pleasant stay. The room was a good size, well furnished. Housekeeping was excellent - very clean and the daily housekeeping (which you have to request at reception) was excellent. The bathtub in the room was small (too small to actually bath in), but everything else in the room was good. Staff very friendly and helpful.
There is a $25 per night ‘destination fee’ which I’m not sure what you really get for it - a $12 credit in the bar each day (but you can’t accumulate them, so have to use it each day) and a bottle of water in your room on the first day. I have paid resort fees at proper resorts, where it gets you use of the pool, spa and other facilities… but this is just a hidden additional charge with no benefit that management should just scrap.

We searched every downtown hotel and chose the Alexis for its location primarily. We were pleasantly surprised and so happy with our choice. From the first call letting them know we had a late arrival, they were friendly and accommodating. The room was spacious and well appointed. The view was gorgeous outside the massive windows. We had a safe, closet, iron and ironing board, mini bar (things were in the refrigerator but you could still use it also), plenty of outlets for all electronics, a comfy couch and a chair, many lamps/lighting options, plentiful bathroom products, and a very comfortable bed. Housekeeping was attentive when requested and when the door hanger was placed outside. We returned each day to a clean room with the bed made, fresh towels, and a floor that had been swept and vacuumed. We attended a Mariners game and walked to the Stadium as well as spent time at Pike Place Market which was also an easy walk. The Piers with the Big Wheel and Washington State Ferries were only a couple blocks away and visible from the window. We used the electric bikes and scooters some, the monorail, and Uber was used to/from the airport. We did not visit the on-site bar/restaurant but it was open each day with patrons inside. Our stay at the Alexis made our trip to Seattle so pleasant and we wouldn’t hesitate to book here again.

Thanks so much Imdaniel (oh I get it) Appreciate the notes and suggestions for the next guests. The location of the hotel has always been a key part of our success for 118 years (yep that's right) With the construction over on the waterfront we will soon return to being the gateway to the new Seattle waterfront. The team here is a lot of fun and it shows every time they connect to a guest. Never hesitate to reach out to the fun General Manager - here to help. Enjoy. Tom.

This is a nice hotel and the rooms work great but some of the outside services were lacking. There was no bell service to help with the luggage which is needed as you’re parking on a main street in Seattle to unload. The valet service was limited and if you valet park and choose not to hunt down a parking garage in downtown Seattle it costs you about $60 a day including taxes. if you want the room cleaned you need to hang a sign on your door by 2 AM the night before. We did this and Had a maid trying to walk in our room at 8 AM when we were still sleeping. Good thing we had the chain on the door. The rooms are quiet but the hallway noise was pretty loud. The front desk person and the valet person were very pleasant to deal with.

Thanks Krawl - glad you had a great stay, our valet guys are on duty 24 hours a day - but the lot is away down the road and they can be missing for a few minutes - sorry that you had to hunt them down. The parking is heavily taxed by the city and it can be a shock, but we are pretty much what you would find at most hotels and we are actually a better deal than most! Never hesitate if you need anything from housekeeping, they are only a call away. Come back soon. Tom W.

I’d give 0 star, if it’s allowed. The service is bare minimum. They advertised the daily breakfast, but when we inquired where we’d have it, they simplify answered : we don’t have breakfast, without any explanation. They charged over 120$ for two days valet parking even though the booking site says it’s 50$ per day. On top of that, they charged close to 30$ ‘destination charge’ per day when we checked out, without any indication of such charge when we booked the hotel. It’s a scam , pure and simple.

Thanks so much ZhiL, as I responded to you in the 3 other places you felt the need to post this, the charge for Valet and The Destination fee are clearly marked on the website of the 3rd party group that you booked with. Perhaps you were looking at some other Sonesta's where breakfast is included. The Valet parking is taxed by the city of Seattle and while that is a shame it is the same for everyone. I know you requested a discount for the parking which we didn't agree to, but we did move you to different rooms hoping to find one that would make you happy. I am truly disappointed that we couldn't make your stay more enjoyable, but we are definitely not a scam, hope you might come back and give us another try.

The view from our room was gorgeous! We loved watching the ferries travel across the Sound during the day, and the magnificent colors of the Giant Ferris Wheel at night. The room was comfortable, the living room was a great place to watch my team play football without having to brave the cold outside. It's a perfect location - close to excellent restaurants, Pike Place Market, the Left Bank Bookstore, and the Seattle Art Museum, plus being right on the bus route to other places to visit as well. It was handy to have breakfast downstairs before setting out on our day's activities, and best of all the staff was courteous, friendly and helpful, especially Dascha at the Front Desk.

We had the privilege of staying at the Alexis for our wedding. It being a destination wedding, our guests were coming in from all over the country. First, let us say that the hotel is beautiful and the ideal location for being within walking distance to so many Seattle sites. The staff was amazing!! Their sales coordinator, Benjamin, was incredibly helpful, understanding, and patient. He made planning accommodations for our guests a breeze, even though we lived out of state. Our large kind of disorganized group can be a handful when we get together sometimes, but Benjamin and the front desk staff were more than accommodating. As the wedding couple, the front desk staff was the sweetest. They sent waters up to the bridal room for the wedding party to have while getting ready and were so helpful in anyway they could be.
The rooms were amazing. The tub in the suite is large and deep, perfect 2, or for tall people, and anyone who wants a luxurious experience. The Grand Alexis Suite was perfect for getting ready for the wedding party. The large vanity area was awesome. The big seating area is perfect for people to wait for hair and makeup or even hanging out. The room comes with a record player and a few records, which we used quite a bit.
Overall, the experience was amazing and helped make our wedding a special one. We can't wait to stay here again for an anniversary or even just another visit to Seattle.
PS. The Bookstore Bar attached to the hotel has a very knowledgeable bartender. He was able to recommend whiskeys for even our avid whiskey collectors in the family. He was able to craft multiple custom drinks for us based solely on a few questions about our likes and they blew us away. Definitely worth going to for the chill atmosphere and the killer drinks.
