We booked a room here when our electricity went out, and it was perfect for what we needed. Location was great for us (near home), and would be convenient for visitors due to proximity to the light rail station and easy freeway access.
The hotel is new, clean and in in good condition. Our king studio suite was very comfortable, spacious, and quiet as we faced east, away from the freeway. It did lack dresser drawers, as it seems many new hotels do, though there was one small stack of wire basket drawers in the desk. Bedside lighting was good, and electrical outlets were provided on both sides, though the USB ports on my side were unstable. The bathroom had a lot of counter space, a good shower, and two sets of towels for each of us, since housekeeping is only provided every other day. Very basic amenities. We appreciated the small refrigerator and microwave.
The included breakfast was typical for this type of property, not great but adequate. The make-your-own waffles were good, and they did vary the hot dishes from day to day. Coffee, tea and hot cocoa are available in the lobby, and there's a small store with snacks and instant food options. There is secure parking under the building.
Staff were pleasant and welcoming, in the midst of an unexpected sellout due to the storm. I was particularly appreciative of their flexibility under the circumstances, since I didn't know how long we would need to stay. They allowed guests to check out before 11 am without penalty if their power was restored, even though it did not meet their usual cancellation deadline. Good job being a good neighbor!

We have stayed here before and try to stay here any time we come to Seattle, due to the location near the train which runs directly to downtown. The hotel is extremely clean, modern, and in very good condition. The staff are wonderful. The price is usually quite reasonable especially since a very good breakfast is included.

The Northgate Hampton is an outstanding hotel, particularly in comparison with other hotels in the Hampton brand, both in Seattle and elsewhere in the country. I booked a king suite that was spacious, clean, and more than sufficient. The underground parking garage was great (it is $16 per day), particularly since there was a snowstorm while I was there. It made it easy to get in and out when I needed. The location is convenient to the interstate, but also when needing to cross the highway to shop, for food, etc. There had been a small, minor misunderstanding, likely solely on my end, regarding when housekeeping was due to arrive. As a heads up, housekeeping is not daily and is scheduled at check in. I thought it was scheduled one day, and on that day, I checked with the front desk to discover it was two days later. This day happened to be after a snowstorm passed through Seattle, and I ended up not getting housekeeping service. It could have been that they came while I was asleep and didn't return later or weren't able to make it because of the snow. Either way, it was understandable and not a problem. The front desk was especially helpful when I had little things pop up, like a glitch with my TV remote or issue with the toilet or needing a late checkout. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND the Hampton at Northgate in Seattle. They are willing to help, the location is convenient and the hotel is very well maintained. I will be back! Thank you and Happy New Year!

Stayed there for a week as location close to a course I was taking. Shabby hotel. I got upgraded due to my 'diamond' status to a room with balcony which was level with highway I-5, balcony listed as a feature. Uncomfortable furniture. Poor quality toilet paper and facial tissues. Housekeeping is optional and needs to be requested a day in advance. Free breakfast dreadful-premade food over salted, coffee bad and often cold. Extremely expensive-close to $4000 US for 7 days. No restaurant which considering how bad breakfast was might be a good thing, but no eateries within walking distance either. Loud awful music played in lobby, near elevators even on room floor, and outside too! Pleasant desk staff.

Response from D Hunt, General Manager at Hampton Inn & Suites By Hilton Seattle/northgate
Responded 7 Aug 2023
Lunarelle54, thank you for taking the time to write a review. We do value you as our Diamond member and would have liked to hear about the concerns while you were here so that we may have the opportunity to correct them for you. Out of the many Hilton brands the Hampton Inn is not one of their full service brands, so I apologize if you were expecting more from our hotel. Hope that you will stay with us again and have a better time at the hotel.

Went to Seattle for a concert but wanted to avoid heavy traffic and downtown prices. Hampton was close to lightrail, Breakfast was good and included in the price AND served to 10 am for us late night owls. Staff was very friendly and helpful. Check in and out was fast and efficient. Rooms were clean and neat. Overall a nice stay.

We come to this Hampton inn when we’re staying with multiple families. The children always love the indoor swimming pool but it was too cold this time and no one would make it warmer. No daily housekeeping unless you order it 24 hours in advance, so if your place needs cleaning you have to wait until sometime the next day. trash piles up in room. We had 2 suites and the heating/ air conditioning didn’t work in either room. Now charging $20 to park a car.

The only positive thing I can say about this hotel is that it’s close to the light rail station. There is ZERO customer service, the staff is beyond rude, and small charges were added to our bill over the course of the four days we were there. When we called to refute the charges and have them refunded, we were told the manager would have to “check the cameras” because all charges are verified by name and room number. Funny that we never experienced this verification, because we never incurred these charges. Do yourself a favor and stay elsewhere, unless the train is the only reason you’re staying here. This hotel is not up to Hilton standards.

When I checked in, they asked me if I had a car – I told them I did and they handed me a parking pass and did not mention anything about cost. Only the next day, when I was checking out, did they tell me it was $20/day for the parking and that they had already deducted it from my security deposit. They said it was printed on the parking permit, but I did not read the permit because I did not imagine that they would have hidden costs on their parking permit.
This is a bait and switch, plain and simple.
Worse yet, when I called Hilton to get help about this, they simply called the property and the property continued to deny a refund of $20. So, here I am, posting a crappy review, because they wouldn't admit a mistake (that they didn't disclose these charges ahead of time) and they wanted $20.
All I can say is: Watch out for hidden fees!

We have stayed at a lot of Hampton In and Suites but this was the best! It was super close and a convenient drive to the Woodland Park Zoo—our destination in the morning.
The King Suite was perfect with a roll-away bed so our 12 and 13 year-olds each had a place to sleep of their own. Everyone slept great and the room was nice and big. The bed was a little hard for my husband but I slept great. I thought it was one of the best hotel beds ever. It was hot while we were there but the room stayed very comfortable with the cooling system.
We didn’t use them this trip but the pool and exercise room looked very nice.
Breakfast was very tasty and they had a nice system of cards on tables to make sure you could find a clean table. All hot and cold items seemed to be available for the self-serve buffet.
Everything I saw was very clean and Covid protocols were clearly marked.
Front desk staff was pleasant and helpful at checkin and checkout. We will definitely stay again when we return to Seattle.

Nice place to stay, Clean & comfortable nice room size (2 double beds). Great walk in shower! The staff is pleasant, and their breakfast has a good slection of food. Light rail system across the street. Make sure you stay on the quite side. They charge for parking which I dont agree with, but it seems everwhere you go you have to pay for parking. No daily housekeeping, but thats OK, No need to make the bed eveyday. Plush have gotten used it it during Covid. I was able to get addtional towels from staff and if you have trash leave it outside the room. They will pick it up. If you are visiting University of Washington its less than 5 miles away. Northgate Mall is very close so you have options for food and drink.

The hotel does not have a shuttle to Pier 91 but, you can prearrange transportation with Seattle Shuttle Express, Capital Aeroporter, Uber, Lyft, and Wingz which lets you book far in advance. Also, you can take the train near the hotel, and get off downtown, and take a taxi.
There are more places to choose from in the Seattle area.
