We stayed at the Harborview Inn in Seward for two nights in mid-June as part of a 9-day tour with High Lonesome BirdTours. It is located on the edge of town and you can walk to the docks, although it is a hike. Our group arrived in the late afternoon and our rooms were not ready. We piled all our stuff in one room and left for a few hours. Our rooms were ready when we got back but smelled strongly of disinfectant. They were out of coffee for the rooms and drinks in the lobby because the manager said she was too busy to shop. She also mentioned she was cleaning the rooms herself because she could not hire staff…a common theme on our trip.

The hotel looks nice, and the rooms are small but functional. There was a large deck in front of the rooms that we treated like our living room, so we were rarely in the room. The sink is separate from the toilet / shower room so two can get ready at one time. The shades only do a marginal job of blacking out the sun. Tip: Bring some small binder clips or large paperclips to hold blackout curtains closed. Helped in a few places we stayed.

They have no food available so you will need to go into town. There is no harbor view…unless you stand on your toes in a couple rooms and look out the bathroom window over the church roof. I cannot speak to value since it was part of a package but can say it was the “least nice” of the 6 places we stayed on our trip.

Although the log building is older, the room was spotless and the bed was very comfortable. The lady at the front desk is very nice and helpful. Our wifi wasn't working in the room and we went and told her and she came and reset the router and we had no problem after that. Our room was on the second floor so we had a small "partial view" of the harbor if you look over the Wells Fargo building! Our room had a fridge and a microwave which was great since food is very expensive. Seward is small so we walked everywhere, but there is a shuttle stop right outside the building. Would stay here again if in the area.

The layout of the room was fine, but there was an incredible amount of noise throughout the night from the Motel’s plumbing system and bathroom fans. We were on the first floor and the noise and vibration coming from what I assume was the fan in a nearby room made it difficult to sleep. When someone used a bathroom in a nearby room we could hear everything and the loud flushing of water lasted for several minutes. Ok for a single night stay but I’m sure we would have had to change if we had planned on staying longer. On the positive side the room was clean, the WiFi strong and the location convenient. “Harborview” is in name only!

We rented the Family Suite 4-bedroom. I saw some less than positive reviews before doing so, but went ahead anyway as we had a family group of six. We could not have been more pleased with the accommodations. The bedrooms were all spacious enough and comfortable and the common areas were fantastic. There was a fully stocked kitchen and nice dining room table and more room than any of us needed. Considering what we received, the value was outstanding. We stayed two nights in Seward and had to move to a different location for the second night because we booked on short notice and could only get this for one night. We paid more than double elsewhere for the second night for lesser accommodations. Would absolutely stay here again. Only complaint, and this is very minor, is the back bedroom with the two twin beds did not have a screen in the window so we could not open it at night for some cooler air or else all the mosquitoes would have gotten in. Otherwise a flawless experience.

We stayed two nights at the Harborview Inn and the room was very clean. It is not a new building and not a good value by world standards. The Inn is well situated and we could walk to both the marina and the downtown areas. There is a shuttle stop next to the Inn, so that is convenient. The staff was very friendly and helpful.

My husband and I stayed at the Harborview Inn in Seward in late July. We waited too long to book our accommodations but luckily Harborview Inn had availability.

First, the good… The hotel room rates were more reasonable than others. It offers free parking and the location can’t be beat. Mary, the hotel manager, is fantastic and very personable. The rooms are clean and housekeeping did a great job each day.

Now the bad… The bed was horrible! We were booked for a Queen bed but what we really slept on was a double. The springs in the bed were worn out so it was uncomfortable. The small pillows were just as horrible as the mattress. If that wasn’t bad enough, the walls were so thin that we could hear our neighbors all night long. Not sure if it was their TV but we heard them all night long. I had to turn on my white noise app on my phone just to fall asleep. So, if sleep is very important to you, you might want to choose another hotel.

A note to the owner: Time to refresh your mattresses and bedding and invest in soundproofing your rooms. Mary makes up for what it lacks.

The lobby doesn’t open until 3:00, which was fine for checking in, but a little annoying the 2nd day. We spent the first night there, we were gone 9 hours the next day, and our room hadn’t been cleaned, we had no toilet paper (the roll left in the bathroom upon our arrival had only about a dozen squares on it and was not replaced during our stay). We had to go buy our own toilet paper. The room was small.

Very pleasant experience. The staffs are very friendly, the room’s are basic but very well kept and clean. The location is good, between the harbor and down town and the Two Lakes park is just across the road, beautiful place to hike and have a picnic.

This hotel has a good location (Seward is relatively small though) and the staff was friendly and the room was clean. We had no problems using this place as a base for a trips during the day. We basically just needed a place to stay while doing activities during the day and this hotel was great for that. The boat tour was great and Hiking exit glacier was beautiful too.

I had a very pleasant stay here. I arrived late, after midnight, they were very accommodating for my late arrival. The room was clean and comfortable. No AC but it wasn't needed while I was there open windows was plenty cold enough. Price was pretty much equivalent to what you would find at other places.
